Der bevorzugte Anteil von Molybdän innerhalb desIn the production of such zirconium alloys 3 ° The invention was therefore based on the task and also in their further processing some will be based, an improved zirconium alloy to components inevitably only slowly develop from the, with good corrosion resistance in / J phase, which at temperatures above 1000 0 C exists, water and steam of high temperature have an extended transition time at temperatures below 820 0 C without increased cooling. This slow cooling is demonstrated by the absorption of hydrogen. This goal was accompanied by a phenomenon that is generally referred to as sensitization in contrast to the state of the art with its ization. An analogous phenomenon of relatively high alloy proportions due to access also in austenitic steels. There, only a small critical amount of molybdenum would result in cooling from a high temperature range to the zirconium alloys. This zirconium for the deposition of carbides at the grain boundaries, 4 ° nium alloys, which are characterized by high corrosion so that the carbon-depleted crystal resistance to water and steam areas are more sensitive to corrosion by high temperature, good ductility, relatively steam at high temperatures will. In the case of high strength and relatively low hydrogen-zirconium alloys, it is believed that the absorption is characterized by 0.1 to 2.5% slow cooling to precipitate zirconium tin, 0.1 to 2% of at least one of the metals niumeisen (ZrFe 2) - and Zirkoniumchrom (ZrCr 2) - iron, nickel and chromium, 0.03 to 0.15 ° / 0 molybdenum compounds at the grain boundaries leads. The mass of the rest of the zirconium, in addition to less than 0.5% of the unavoidable zirconium alloy, is depleted in iron Licher impurities. In addition to the properties already mentioned above and chromium and is consequently more sensitive to the properties mentioned above, these alloys have a corrosion attack. The sensitization is a significantly increased corrosion resistance at high and therefore a very serious problem, since the resistance steam temperatures after slow cooling against the corrosive attack for the practical approach from the / S range and an improved transition turn of zirconium alloys of great time in high temperature water, is significant. The results presented in the table above show that there is general equivalence between the alloys according to the invention in some common conditions of use and Zircaloy-4 in the as-manufactured condition. That the stability of the alloy in steam at 405 ° C. is higher than that of Zircaloy-4 can be seen when the weight increase of the samples due to corrosion, which were subjected to a slow cooling treatment prior to the test, are compared with one another. After 2 weeks of treatment in steam at 405 ° C., the mean weight increase for the alloys according to the invention, which had previously been subjected to slow cooling from the /? Phase, was 25 mg / dm a (see Table T). In contrast, a typical value under similar slow cooling conditions for Zircaloy-4 is 90 mg / dm 2 . This represents a more than 4-fold increase in the corrosion resistance of those alloy parts that were previously slowly cooled from the / S state.

In Table II above, corrosion data for the alloy according to the present invention are shown Treatment in water of 360 ° C were obtained compared with corresponding data obtained that from Zircaloy-4 control samples.
Hinsichtlich der Wasserstoffaufnahme ist die erfindungsgemäße Legierung vergleichbar mit Zircaloy-4.The table shows that the alloys according to the invention both in the state of manufacture and in the welded or slowly cooled state show corrosion properties that are generally comparable are with those of Zircaloy-4 in the as-manufactured state were obtained in the initial stages of the corrosion test. Both Alloys according to the invention is the transition time until an accelerated one occurs Corrosion more than 140 days, that of the comparative alloy Zircaloy-4, on the other hand, only 112 days. Under Under normal operating conditions, this difference in the transition time for parts from this invention would be Alloys in an environment of steam (405 ° C) extend the operating time by 6 months mean compared to that which would be achievable with Zircaloy-4. With regard to hydrogen uptake the alloy according to the invention is comparable to Zircaloy-4.
In summary, the stabilized zirconium alloy according to the invention is an improved one Corrosion resistance resistance in high temperature steam after slow cooling from the /? phase as well as an improved transition time in water of 360 ° C at an acceptably low one Shows hydrogen uptake.
