Filter rods are required, the length of which is a certain multiple of the plug length. For the efficient production of such filter rods an endless filter train must be created, which in Sections of any length can be subdivided. For creating an endless filter rod with a homogeneous filling e.g. shredded paper webs or a bundle of thin cellulose— Acetate fibers are common in continuously operating machines . which the filling becomes a wick or strand of about 8 mm Diameter, wrapped with thin paper and then divided into filter rods. Of course, it is not easily possible to get into the continuously moving filling in front of the Wrapping any bodies with capillary channels to embed. For a thermoplastic filler material has already been proposed have been to let a tube protrude into the gathered strand of the filling material and through this hot steam to blow in to heat the filling and a channel in the- ■ to leave out the same? the tube itself is of course stationary and the recessed channel "is not a capillary body embedded in the continuously advanced filler material.
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft dagegen ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Filter stöpseln für Tabakwaren, insbesondere für < Zigaretten, durch Unterteilung eines endlosen bewegten Stranges der aus einer Umhüllung und einem darin eingeschlossenen Füllmaterial besteht, das vor der Umhüllung beliebige Gestalt besitzt, kontinuierlich fortbewegt, dabei fortschreitend zu einem angenähert :>:v,nä@n Strang verformt und vor der Umhüllung im StrangdurchmesserThe present invention, however, relates to a method for the production of filter stoppers for tobacco products, in particular for cigarettes, by dividing an endless moving strand which consists of an envelope and a filler material enclosed therein, which has any shape in front of the envelope, is continuously moved forward while progressing approximated to one :>: v, Nä @ n strand deformed and before the sheath in strand diameter

Diese zeigen:is steadily reduced down to the amount required for the filling. It is characteristic that before the formation of the round strand of the moved filling material with the same Speed an endless, arbitrarily divisible capillary body fed into a predetermined position relative to the central axis brought the strand to be formed, held in this position and at the same time from that which takes on its strand form Filler material is enclosed until the free strand cross-section is completely filled by the filler material, whereupon the further shaping of the filler material and the embedded capillary body up to the desired strand diameter is carried out together will. The method of the present invention is as follows in some exemplary embodiments with reference to FIGS. 1 to 12 of FIG accompanying drawings explained in more detail. These show:

Auf die beschriebene Weise können natürlich auch mehrere beispiels-A first exemplary embodiment for the present method is in Pig. 1 shown schematically and is used to produce an endless filter strand, which is shown in FIG. 2 in cross section is. and each consists of a strand of material 10 and 11, in which a capillary body in the form of a capillary tube is axially embedded. The two strands of material 10 and 11 have semicircular cross-section according to Fig. 3 and are with the Flat sides facing each other, combined into a round strand in a suitable embedding tool (not shown), as indicated in Fig. 1, with a capillary tube at the same time 12 runs into the groove 13 provided in both flat sides. The assembled strand is directed towards the Arrow 14 moves and the two semicircular strands 10 and 11, and the capillary tube 12 are withdrawn from corresponding storage drums. Die drei radialen Seheidewände im Trichter und dasAnother embodiment of the method for axially embedding a capillary body in the center of an endless one FiIterStrangs is shown in FIGS. 7, 8 and 9. Become an Hfcr three webs of material 22, 23 and 24 from the supply rolls 25 or 26 or 27 are withdrawn in the direction indicated by arrows, fed to a three-part funnel 28, the front view of which is shown in FIG. i) the interior of the funnel 28 is the same through three partitions into the three major sectors. 29, 30 and 31. Furthermore, the three radial partitions are carried along the funnel axis extending tube 32 with a clearance that is to be introduced Capillary body corresponds. As can be seen from FIG. 7, the material web 22 runs into the sector 29, the material web 23 into the sector 30 and the material web 24 into the lower one Sector 31 of the funnel. As can be seen from FIG. 9, this strand has overall a round cross-section, but consists of the three sector-shaped parts 36, 37 and 38 passing through. Gathering the Material webs 22 or 23 or 24 have arisen. At the center of the three sectors are located, practically coaxial with the strand axis Capillary bodies designed here as capillary tubes 39. Will suitable material webs 22, 23 and 24 used, for example from longitudinally creped paper or self-supporting woven or unwoven Fiber webs, it can be ensured that either the fillings in the sectors 36, ″ 37 and 38 of the strand 35 have a so high flow resistance compared to that of the capillary tube 39 show that in the case of a filter section practically all of the smoke flows through the capillary tube 39, or it can a loose and gas-permeable filling can be provided. Naturally there is also the possibility of using flat material webs instead 22, 23 and 24 corresponding loose fiber strands into the three Sectors 29, 30 and 31 of the funnel 28 to run so that an endless fiber strand is produced which has in its interior coaxial to the strand axis dad capillary tubes 39 or another capillary body. Instead of the individual shown in FIG Capillary tubes 34 can of course also have capillary bodies 40 according to FIG. 10 with U-shaped capillary channels 41, 42, 43 in the central one Tube 32 of the funnel 28 are introduced, so that an endless filter rod with several, symmetrical to the rod axis inside

angeordneten Kapillarkanalen entsteht. There is also the Possibility of pressing freshly produced, still plastic plastic foams into the three sectors 29, 30 and 31 of the funnel 28, to create an endless filter rod with a foam filling and one or more centrally arranged capillary channels. Of course, the one exiting hopper 28 will normally be endless strand still wrapped with a paper tape or the like.
The based on Pig. The device described 7 to 9 is natural also with a funnel 28 which is only divided into two halves or with a subdivision of the same into more than three sectors executable.
If in the three sectors 29, 30 and 31 of the funnel 28 of the device 7 loose fiber bundles are introduced, so usually no sectors in the resulting endless strand Filling can be determined. Then any capillary bodies can be fed through the middle tube 32 of the funnel 28 and inserted into the Fiber mass are embedded; for example can be applied to this In the manner of an endless strand with the cross-section indicated in FIG. 11 produce, which in a casing 46 a star-shaped, has capillary body 44 provided with U-shaped capillary channels, which is embedded coaxially in the homogeneous fiber mass 45.
