In der bisher angegebenen Construction ist der Pfeifenkopf von dem in dem erloschenen Patent No. 2462 nur darin wesentlich verschieden, dafs, während der Rauch bei dem in No. 2462 gezeigten Pfeifenkopfe ,. durch kleine Löcher, die ringsum im Verbrennungscylinder angebracht sind, in den Luftkanal ί gelangt, bei meinem neuen Pfeifenkopfe der Verbrennungscylinder nicht auf dem Tabakcylinder aufsitzt, sondern ein ringförmiger Raum frei bleibt, durch welchen der Rauch in den Luftkanal ί gelangt. Hierdurch ist dem grofsen Nachtheil der früher gebräuchlichen Construction, bei der die feinen Löcher sich in kurzer Zeit mit Asch.e und Tabakstückchen verstopften, abgeholfen. Durch diese Veränderung ist der Pfeifenkopf erst brauchbar gemacht. Im übrigen ist die oben beschriebene Construction von der des im Patent No. 2462 gezeigten Pfeifenkopfes aufser einigen unwesentlichen kleinen Modificationen nicht verschieden. Die Feder E jedoch, die mit ihrem oberen Ende an dem die Dienste eines Kolbens verrichtenden Plättchen t befestigt ist, ist bei dem neuen Pfeifenkopfe mit ihrem unteren Ende an dem unteren Deckel F fixirt.
