Der gesamte Strahler vom Einspeisungspunkt der Speiseleitung ab stellt für längere Wellen einen in bekannter Weise dimensionierten Halbdipol dar. Für kürzere Wellen wirkt der Übergang von Außen- und Innenleiter der Koaxialleitung auf die leitende Fläche bzw. den Strahler als rotationssymmetrische Hornparabolantenne. Durch die erfindungsgemäße Ausgestaltung wird auch bei höheren Frequenzen eine Wellenform erzielt, die nahezu zylindrisch zur Rotationsachse der Antenne liegt. Durch diese Ausgestaltung ist es also möglich, die bei den bisherigen Ausführungsformen bei hohen Frequenzen auftretende kugelförmige Welle zu einer zylinderförinigen Welle zu gestalten.
