Die wesentlichen Merkmale des Akkumulators nach der Hauptanmeldung bestehen darin, daß sowohl die positive Elektrode 1 als auch die negative Elektrode 2 in ihrer ganzen Länge einen keine aktive Masse enthaltenden massivmetallenen Rand besitzen, so daß der Rand 4 der positiven Elektrode 1 an der einen Stirnseite des Elektrodenwickels über, den negativen Wickel hinausragt, während der Rand 5 der negativen Elektrode 2 an der entgegengesetzten Stirnseite des Elektrodenwickels über den positiven Wickel hinausragt, und daß ferner jeder der Ränder 4. 5 großflächig mit dem entsprechenden Polableiter 7, 8 verbunden ist. Jeder der Ränder 4, 5 kann in seinem spiraligen Verlauf an mehreren Stellen mit gegenüberliegenden Stellen seiner benachbarten Windüngen verschweißt sein.
