Um das Kreuz in eine Broche zu verwandeln, kehrt man dasselbe um, drückt mit Daumen und Zeigefinger das Federchen, das aus dem viereckigen Scharnier α heraussieht, zusammen, damit man den Aufsatz (Blume) abnehmen kann. Unter der Blume wird dann ein Stiftchen sichtbar, das man in die Höhe zieht; man entfernt hierauf die Arme des Kreuzes, setzt die Blume wieder mitten auf den Kreuzstab, schiebt die Nadel mit Endung d in Kapsel b, dreht sie, dafs sie aufrecht steht, richtet Haken c in die Höhe und läfst die Nadel einschnappen.
