Description
Protective device for the inputs and / or outputs of electrical, in particular electronic equipment Electrical equipment, such as B. Measuring devices that are not just with are connected to the network, but also have other terminals or sockets, to which voltages or currents have to be applied from the outside or from which voltages or currents can be drawn off are endangered by the fact that they are switched on too much voltage or too much load damaged or destroyed will. This risk is of course relatively small when the devices are off against Overvoltages or loads are built in relatively robust modules, that can withstand very large tZ overvoltages or overloads, such as B. Tubes. the The danger, however, becomes very great if these devices are at their inputs and / or outputs Components that are relatively sensitive to overvoltages or excessive loads, z. B. transistors included. In such cases, up to now, the the entrances or to protect semiconductor amplifier elements closest to the outputs, Resistors are switched into the inputs or outputs, or transformers or Capacitors, voltage dependent resistors or ring modulators are used to the outlets and inlets of the semiconductor amplifiers or other sensitive ones Separate components or amplifier elements. The use of transmissions brings with it the disadvantage that the transformers themselves against too high currents, especially too high direct currents, must be protected, for which purpose in practice in series with the transformer Capacitor is switched. Furthermore, transformers have the disadvantage that they themselves with a corresponding effort have an albeit low frequency response, and finally, and this is the main disadvantage, only alternating voltages, but no direct voltages lead away, so that a device that has a transformer input and / or has a transformer output, can only process AC voltages. Quite apart from that, transformers often have a significant impact on a measuring device significant price.
Capacitors have roughly the same disadvantages in the context mentioned on how transformers, in particular, they prevent a flow of direct current, what they are unsuitable for protecting many modern devices, especially modern measuring devices power.
After all, capacitors do not necessarily have an effect like transformers a limitation of the voltage, since capacitors do not have a saturation effect.
For devices with DC voltage behavior, there would be resistors first as protection for and outputs into consideration. Have resistances in the inputs however, the disadvantage that this reduces the sensitivity of the input will. To bring the sensitivity back to the old level, it is necessary to use additional amplifier elements. This brings an increase in the price of the Device with it, on the other hand it increases the uncertainty, because the less amplified must be, the more reliably a certain gain can be maintained. aside from that is it a problem that has not yet been sufficiently resolved with DC voltage amplifiers, to keep the zero point constant, and this difficulty naturally increases as well with increasing gain.
Outputs estimated by a resistor are no more low resistance, and this in itself is the reason why the At the outset, it is waived at all in favor of its low resistance. Also is a resistance in the output due to the output power given by the devices concerned is required, limited in its height, so that in practice by a Resistance in the output probably a protection against overload can be achieved, however not against externally applied overvoltages.
Voltage-dependent resistances reduce the interference effect at consistent efficiency, but in principle they have the same disadvantages how linear resistances. There are still ring modulators. With these Although direct voltage can be transmitted, the attenuation is also in the pass band low and large in the blocking range, but is a ring modulator made up of four rectifiers constructed, while the circuit arrangement on which the invention is based, with two rectifiers gets by.
In order to achieve protection against overvoltages for the inputs, to leave their DC voltage behavior and at the same time nothing of theirs To take sensitivity, continue to keep outputs their low resistance, to make these outputs insensitive to overload and at the same time To protect externally applied overvoltages is proposed according to the invention, in series with the inputs and / or outputs of electrical devices, especially measuring devices, to lay two rectifier lines connected against each other, whereby the connection point of the two rectifier sections to a grounded first auxiliary voltage source via a resistor is connected and the electrodes of the two facing away from the connection point Rectifier sections each via a resistor to a second and third auxiliary voltage source are connected with opposite polarities to the first, so that the variable voltage present at the input of the protective device at the output is limited to a certain value, and that the output current continues to have a cannot exceed a certain value.
As an embodiment of the invention, FIG. 1 shows an input circuit, in which the two rectifiers Gll and G12 are connected to their anodes and where the cathode of the rectifier Gl 1, which also represents the input E, is fed from a negative voltage via a resistor R 1 and where the cathode of the rectifier G12 via a resistor R 2 also from one negative voltage is fed from and where the anodes of the two rectifiers fed from a positive voltage through a resistor R 3. Of the In the example shown, the input is unbalanced, the input terminal E 'is connected in bulk. The actual device becomes the protective circuit just described fed, which in Fig. 1 by the resistor RG between the connection point is indicated by G12 with R2 and ground. The resistors R 1, R2 and R 3 and the Voltages - U1, - U2 and + U3 must now be matched to one another so that that in retirement, i.e. with the input open, the voltage between E and E 'and thus the voltage at RG is also zero. Now the potential at the input terminal E changed in the negative direction, the potential at point A also changes in the same way. Since initially both rectifiers Gl 1 and Gel 2 as a result of the The currents generated by the auxiliary sources are permeable, lies between the point E and the point A only the sum of the forward resistances of the two rectifiers. This Resistance value can normally be in terms of the rest in the circuit occurring resistances are neglected. The input E is therefore with the output connected to the protective circuit with practically no resistance. However, this is only so long this is the case until point A becomes more and more negative at input terminal E has reached at which the current flowing through the resistor R 2 same as above current flowing through the resistor RG. This voltage has the value U2. RG R2 + RG At this value of the voltage, the rectifier Eq.2 blocks, and a further negative result of the input E does not have a further negative becoming of the starting point A to Episode. It should now be assumed that the point E, starting from the potential zero, getting more and more positive. In this case, too, the potential of point A follows of point E, since here too both rectifier paths Gl 1 and G12 are conductive. If the voltage at E and thus at A has reached such a value, that the current flowing through the resistor R 3 is equal to the sum of the currents through the resistors R2 and RG, the rectifier locks Gl 1 and prevents Point A. becomes further more positive. The voltage at which this occurs is calculated according to the formula R2 U3-R3 U2 + R 3 + R 2 RG The resistor RG, which is the actual The input of the device represents, is therefore only within certain over the protective circuit Voltage limits connected to input E. Exceeds or falls below the potential If the specified limits are exceeded at input E, input A no longer follows input E.
Fig. 2 shows this relationship between the voltage U1 the terminal E and the voltage U2 at the terminal A for a device input resistance RG = oo.
Die Fig. 3 zeigt für denselben Fall die Abhängigkeit des Stromes 11 an der EingangsklemmeE von der Spannung U1. 3 shows the dependence of the current for the same case 11 at the input terminal E from the voltage U1.
If the protective circuit of FIG. 1 is not in the input of a device related, but in the output, point A is with the output terminals of the device to connect and the point E within the device, e.g. B. with the last amplifier output.
The amplifier output is then of course against too high, vom Output A protected voltages applied in the same way as when describing the use of the protective circuit as an input circuit was mentioned. When the resistor RG is loaded, point A now follows in his Potential the point E again so long in the negative direction, until the current across resistor R 2 is equal to the current across resistor RG, and in positive Direction until the sum of the currents through the resistors R2 and RG is the same is the current through resistor R 3. This means that the output A is within certain limits is low and that the voltage at the output, if this Limits are exceeded, no further changes. The one acting on point E. Generator is not overloaded even if point A is short-circuited to earth, because in the case of negative voltage values, the rectifier G12 is closed while If the voltage at E is positive, the rectifier G11 is blocked. The dependence between electricity and The voltage at E in the event of a short circuit shows the Fig. 4.
In Fig. S, finally, also for the short-circuit case, the relationship between the voltage U 1, between E and E 'and the current at the output A.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the fact that, as in 1 indicated, two actual rectifiers are present, rather each rectifier or both rectifiers can be replaced by rectifier sections be e.g. B. by PN-TS transitions of transistors.
Fig. 6 shows such an arrangement in which the resistor R 1 and the rectifier gel 1 are replaced by a transistor.
It is also possible that the input or
Ausgangsschutzschaltung nur Spannungen bzw.Output protection circuit only voltages or
Currents of one polarity are to be limited. In this case it will be In Fig. 1, a rectifier, a resistor and a voltage source are superfluous.
Should the protection only be maintained against negative polarities remain, with which the point E is applied, or with respect to positive polarities, which are applied at point A, the rectifier Gl 1 can be through a resistance-free Connection are replaced while the resistor R 1 as well as the voltage source - U 1 can be discontinued. If protection is only provided against positive polarities, that act on point E, or for negative polarities that affect the point A are imposed, the same applies to rectifier Eq 2, the resistance R 2 and the voltage source -U2.
