Durch diese Ausbildung ist vermieden, daß Futter in das Tränkgefäß fällt. Gegen Futterverluste beim Fressen ist außerdem der obere Rand des Futtergefäßes nach innen abgewinkelt. Das Futtergefäß 5 besitzt eine mittlere Führung 7 für die Tragstange 2, wobei das obere Ende dieser Führung über den oberen Rand des Gefäßes 5 etwas hinausragt.
