Man hat deshalb vorgeschlagen, auf die Innenseiten des Motorgehäuses Schallschluckstoffe in Schichten aufzubringen. Die Gesamtstärke einer solchen aus Kunststoffen bestehenden Schallisolierung ist jedoch so gering, daß damit wohl eine gewisse Schalldämpfung, aber keine wirksame Verhinderung des Verkehrslärmes erreicht wird.
