KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The subject of the present invention is a foot bench which is set up in such a way that
that it can also be used as a scale. In particular, it should be used as a bathroom scale
be used by people who, as a result of their state of health
are forced to weigh themselves daily.
Damit
The footboard α of the foot bench, made of corrugated sheet metal or similar material, rests on a pin b, which is attached to a spring c. The spring c, similar to the common wagon springs, is hinged with its two ends by means of the arms d to the bracket e which forms the feet of the bench. This carries a plate / serving as a guide for the pin b , on which a round housing g provided with an edge division is arranged. In this housing g , a pointer h is attached, which rotates about its axis when the pin b is raised or lowered depending on the load on the footplate. At the approach i of the pin b engages a tie rod j which is articulated to an angle lever k rotatably attached to the bracket e. During the movement of the pin b , this angle lever k rotates by means of a pull rod / a crank m configured as a toothed segment, which is mounted on the bracket e. In the toothing of the crank πι engages a drive wheel 0 which is attached to the axis of the pointer h and thus also moves this when it is rotated over the edge division of the housing g provided with weight information. So you can read while standing on the footboard a weight, a tread plate is provided at the appropriate location with a recess. If the device is only to be used as a foot bench, the pointer mechanism can be set to work by means of a suitable device.
