Durch das vorliegende Verfahren sollen Cigaretten mit tabakfreiem Mundstücke dadurch hergestellt werden, dafs abwechselnd tabakfreie Mundstücke und Tabakfüllungen zu einem Strange an einander gereiht werden, dabei sowohl die tabakfreien Mundstücke, als auch die Tabakfüllungen von doppelt so grofser Länge sind, als für die fertigen Cigaretten erforderlich ist, und dann die Theilung des Stranges in die einzelnen Cigaretten durch Zerschneiden des Stranges je in der Mitte der Tabakfüllung und der Mundstücke erfolgt. Es soll mit diesem Verfahren der Nachtheil umgangen werden, dafs durch das Zerschneiden des aus tabakfreien Mundstücken und Tabakfüllungen bestehenden Stranges Fehlschnitte entstehen können, die entweder nach Fig. 1 einen Theil des Mundstückes an der benachbarten Tabaklänge oder nach Fig. 2 einen Theil der Tabaklänge an dem benachbarten Mundstücke belassen, während Fig. 3 den erforderlichen richtigen Schnitt zwischen Mundstück und angrenzender Tabaklänge der vorhergehenden und nachfolgenden Cigarette nach bisheriger Trennungsart angiebt.
