Switching contact for high-performance switch The invention relates to a
Switching contact for high-performance switch with one the arc from the actual
Contact surface displacing section made of ferromagnetic material.
To prevent burn-off on switching contacts of high-performance switches,
in particular high-voltage switches, it is known, e.g. B. pin-shaped consumable contacts
inside the movable switch pins or burn-off rings in front of the fixed mating contacts
to be provided that take over the arc when switching and thus the contact surface
protect from the arc for the continuous current. The conduction of the arc
when switching off on the arcing contact, this is particularly the case with compressed gas switches
with nozzle-shaped contacts supported by the flowing medium, which causes the sticking
seeks to prevent the arc at the contact surface. Since when switching on, however
If the arc is not blown out, high inrush currents follow suit
as before a burn on the contact pieces. This can be through a
Resilient arcing pin that protrudes from the fixed mating contact and thus the starting arc
attracts, belittles. But since the erosion pin from the movable switch contact
is moved back until contact is made for the continuous current, is suitable
This arrangement is only suitable for small switch pin speeds while they are at
large, on the other hand, is inexpedient because of the increased mechanical stresses.
The invention is also concerned with switching contacts for high-performance switch,
where even at increased switching speeds and very high inrush currents
a burn on the permanent contact surfaces is avoided with simple means.
The invention is based on the knowledge that an alternating current
the less deep it penetrates into a conductive material, the higher its permeability
is. In this case the current density increases significantly towards the edge of the conductor
stronger than with a non-magnetic body. For practical evaluation
this knowledge is according to the invention in a switching contact of the type described at the outset
provided that a hollow contact of a ferromagnetic section and this
is in turn surrounded by a highly conductive sheath. The ferromagnetic part
prevents the arc from sticking to the inner hollow contact and displaces it
him on the outer coat. It thus acts like a shield for the hollow contact
before contact with the arc.
The property of ferromagnetic ones that influences arc migration
Substances have already been used in switch pins. So are magnets in the tip of the switch pin
has been accommodated in order to facilitate extinguishing due to the resulting blown field
of the arc. But also to protect contact surfaces from burning off,
pins or rings made of ferromagnetic material were inserted into the tip of the switch pin
let in, which attract the arc or its migration from the tip
impede. In these known contacts, the phenomenon is exploited that
an arc seeks to adjust itself in such a way that the inductance of the current path decreases
The maximum is what is the case in the middle of the switch pin. According to this principle
however, a hollow contact cannot be formed; here must be of the aforementioned current displacement
be made use of by the ferromagnetic section.
In the drawing, FIG. 1 initially shows the shape of the current distribution
depending on the conductor cross-section in a waveguide 1, which consists of copper.
It can be seen that the greatest current density prevails on the circumference. Will be like in Fig. 2 a
Hollow contact made up of three concentric cylinders, of which the inner cylinder
3 and the outer, designed as a jacket cylinder 4, for example made of copper and
the middle cylinder 2 consist of a ferromagnetic material, so results
that with sufficient strength of the ferromagnetic cylinder the inner conductor
completely de-energized while the outer and middle conductors, like the
shows the lower part of Fig. 2, take over the current. The arc 5, from the
Switching pin 6 initially skips onto the retaining web 7 of the jacket, is therefore through

Rather, the current flowing through an arc is for the most part conducted via the jacket 4.
An Stelle
geschichteten Ring bestehen. To avoid excessive heating of the ferromagnetic at very high currents
To avoid a ring, it is advisable to place one or more in the magnetic circuit
Intermediate pieces made of materials with low permeability (, u, 5z # - 1) are to be provided. Instead of
