Description
Electrolytic capacitor with a centrally arranged in a tubular housing Stick electrode The more and more widespread use of electrical and electronic equipment Apparatus, especially for purposes where the device must be easily portable, or, for other reasons, take up as little space and weight as possible may, leads to the desire to use the electrical parts of these devices as possible to produce small dimensions and light weight. Among the devices where Such miniature parts are very beneficial, include hearing aids, portable ones, among others Transceivers and aeroprobes.
The invention relates to an electrolytic capacitor with a central in a tubular housing arranged rod-shaped electrode, on which below Interposition of an.electrolyte-soaked insulating spacer a second Electrode is wound, and the purpose of which is to create a type that is as a result Their small dimensions are very well suited to the previously used for certain purposes used to replace paper capacitors with considerably larger dimensions.
An electrolytic capacitor is already known in which the wire-shaped formed, roughened and formed anode, which with organic, electrolyte-absorbing Material is surrounded on a centrally inserted in a housing, the cathode forming mandrel is wound. It is also known to replace the mandrel to use a second, uncovered wire as a cathode, which is shared with the anode wire is wound on the mandrel; this bare wire can if the housing is made of metal is to be electrically connected to the housing. The housing itself can also form the cathode and, accordingly, the mandrel only the anode wire wound on it wear. However, some of these known capacitors require special insulation of the cathode mandrel and have an inadequate housing seal in the form of sealing caps on.
The invention overcomes these disadvantages in an electrolytic capacitor initially mentioned type in that the rod-shaped electrode as formed and is preferably formed roughened anode and the second electrode from a - preferably also roughened - consists of the metal foil with the one-sided closed housing is in electrically conductive connection, and that one the Closing the opening of the housing, placed on the end of the rod electrode Sleeve made of flexible and insulating material, for example rubber, between Grooves running all around in the stick electrode at approximately the same point and the housing is compressed.
The structure of the electrolytic capacitor according to the invention shows a extremely simple arrangement of anode and seal from one piece, has a special tight seal, what in terms of capacitors with small dimensions small amount of electrolyte in the housing is important, and also has a low electrical resistance due to the use of a second surrounding the anode rod Electrode in the form of a foil.
It should also be noted that the sealing of an electrolytic capacitor by means of a rubber stopper in a surrounding a smooth bushing part Housing part is squeezed, is known per se.
The electrolytic capacitor according to the invention is well suited for coupling purposes in transistor circuits and can use the paper capacitors previously used for this purpose substitute. In this way, there is a relatively large gain in space by that the ratio between capacity and volume in the capacitor according to the Invention is more than 20 times greater than the corresponding ratio for paper capacitors for the same purpose.
The invention is based on an embodiment shown in the drawing explained in more detail.
The polarized capacitor shown in section in the figure contains a round core 1 made of aluminum, which forms the anode and is arranged in the middle of an aluminum tube 2 open on one side. A connecting wire 4 is welded to the end 3 of the core 1 located in the opening of the tube, while a second connecting wire 5 is attached to the outside of the bottom of the tube 2. The cathode of the capacitor consists of an aluminum foil 6 which is wound at least once onto the core 1, a spacer 7 being arranged between this foil and the core 1. This spacer consists in the usual way of absorbent paper that contains the electrolyte. The spacer 7 can run further than the cathode foil 6, which forms only a single turn, so that the spacer 7 is also arranged between the wall of the tube 2 and the cathode foil 6. The cathode foil has an extension strip 8 which is electrically connected to the tube 2. This connection is made in that the strip 8 is clamped between the inner wall of the tube 2 and a sleeve 9 made of flexible material, in this case rubber, pushed onto the end 3 of the core 1. This cuff 9 forms an insulating sealing of the opening between the edge of the tube 2 and the protruding end of the anode 1. The fact that the core 1 and the tube 2 are provided with a groove at approximately the same point (10) is the The cuff 9 is strongly compressed at this point, resulting in a complete seal, while at the same time the strip 8 is kept in good electrical contact with the tube 2.
On the bottom .des tube 2 an insulating disk 11 is arranged, which prevents that between the core 1 and the tube 2 short circuit occurs. The disk 11 consists of the same material as the spacer 7 and, like this, is impregnated with electrolyte.
The anode core 1 has a saw cut running in the longitudinal direction 12, in which one end of the spacer 7 is inserted, which is during manufacture the joint winding of the foils 6 and 7 facilitates during this saw cut at the same time serves as a reservoir for the electrolyte, which is due to the low Dimensions of the capacitor only in a small amount of the spacer 7 and the Disc 11 is added.
The core 1 is provided with an enlarged effective surface by etching treatment in a known manner, on which an oxide skin forming the dielectric is formed in a likewise known manner.
The cathode foil 6 is also etched, but only on the Core 1 facing surface. Due to the one-sided etching treatment, the film is mechanically not weakened too much, while due to the enlarged effective surface it is prevented that a dielectric skin forms on the cathode in the long run, which would reduce the capacitance of the capacitor.
The longitudinal dimensioning of the described embodiment is at a capacitance of approximately 0.1 i, F at a working voltage of 30 V. 10 mm, while the outside diameter is approximately 3.2 mm.
