Process for the preparation of ketonitriles It is known from US Pat. No. 2,773,087 to prepare ketonitriles by reacting enamines with acrylonitrile and subsequent saponification. The reaction takes place according to the equation Because of the tendency of the substances to polymerize, this known process is carried out in highly dilute solution, which is why the reaction of the acrylonitrile with the enamine requires extremely long reaction times.
It has now been found that the reaction time can be shortened considerably
can and the ketonitrile is obtained in high yield when enamines with acrylonitrile
or its substitution products in the presence of small amounts of a stabilizer
and reacted in the absence of solvents and saponified the addition product.
bzw. dessen Substitutionsprodukten umgesetzt. Neben dem Acrylsäurenitril sind die
Homologen bzw. Substitutionsprodukte des Acrylsäurenitrils, die eine Doppelbindung
in Konjugation zur Nitrilgruppe enthalten, z. B. Methacrylsäurenitril und Crotonsäurenitril,
für die Umsetzung geeignet. The enamines are expediently mixed with approximately stoichiometric amounts of acrylonitrile
or its substitution products implemented. In addition to the acrylonitrile, the
Homologues or substitution products of acrylonitrile that have a double bond
contained in conjugation to the nitrile group, e.g. B. methacrylic acid nitrile and crotonic acid nitrile,
suitable for implementation.
B. Hydrochinon, Thiodiphenylamin
und Methylenblau, geeignet. Es genügt, z. B. auf 100 Gewichtsteile der Nitrilverbindung
etwa 0,01 bis 1 Gewichtsteil von einem Stabilisator zuzusetzen. When carrying out the process you can, for. B. the enamine in the reaction vessel
and expediently the nitrile compound with stirring and with exclusion of moisture
Add continuously or in portions within a certain time. The implementation
is carried out at normal or elevated temperature, expediently at 25 to 150.degree.
It is advantageous to work at temperatures above 50 ° C. As stabilizers for the
Nitrile compounds are the known stabilizers, e.g. B. hydroquinone, thiodiphenylamine
and methylene blue are suitable. It is enough z. B. to 100 parts by weight of the nitrile compound
add about 0.01 to 1 part by weight of a stabilizer.
When performing the procedure, it is not necessary that
Addition product of enamine and nitrile compound, these are cyanoethylated enamines,
to isolate. The addition product can be passed through directly in the reaction mixture
Addition of water at an elevated temperature, e.g. B. at 50 to 100 ° C, saponify. the
Working up is expediently carried out by separation of layers, neutralization and extraction
the aqueous layer with a suitable solvent. The extract and the organic
Layer can be cleaned by distillation after the solvent has been stripped off.
The work-up of the reaction products in the process according to the invention is complete
the simple separation of layers is made much easier. The ones in the example below
parts mentioned are parts by weight.
Beispiel 1 41 Teile Pyrrolidinocyclopenten werden auf 50°C erwärmt
und unter Rühren und Feuchtigkeitsausschluß
in ungefähr 30 Minuten
Example 1 41 parts of pyrrolidinocyclopentene are heated to 50 ° C. and 19 parts of acrylonitrile, stabilized with 0.1% hydroquinone, are added dropwise with stirring and with exclusion of moisture in about 30 minutes. The mixture is then saponified with 100 parts of water at 60 ° C. for about 11/2 hours. Two layers are formed from which the nitrile layer is separated and washed neutral with dilute hydrochloric acid. Chloroform is added for better separation of the layers. The water extract is combined with the aqueous layer, neutralized again with hydrochloric acid and then extracted with chloroform. The chloroform extracts are then combined, the chloroform is drawn off and the organic layer is distilled in vacuo. 34.8 parts of cyanoethylcyclopentanone, that is 85 ° 10 of theory, based on pyrrolidinocyclopentene, are obtained at b.p. "= 97 ° C. Example 2 46 parts of pyrrolidinocyclohexene are heated to 750 ° C. and 18 parts stabilized under the test conditions of Example 1 Acrylonitrile is then added dropwise. The mixture is then saponified again with 100 parts of water for 11/2 hours at 60 ° C. Further work-up is carried out as described in Example 1. Distillation at bp 0.1 = 101 ° C. gives 41 4 parts of cyanoethylcyclohexanone, that is 90% of theory, based on pyrrolidinocyclohexene.
Man
Example 3 55 parts of pyrrolidinocyclooctene are heated to 75.degree
and under the same conditions as in Example 1, 18 parts of stabilized acrylonitrile
added dropwise. The saponification and further work-up are carried out as in Example 1. Man
obtained in the distillation at bp 2; = 112 ° C 38.5 parts of cyanoethylcyclooctanone,
that is 70% of theory, based on pyrrolidinocyclooctene.
