The invention relates to a method of stabilization of selenium disulfide suitable for the production of fungicides, which is obtained by adding a hydrophilic colloidal suspension agent is activated.
Selendisulnd is very important as a fungicide. Its production in active form is known, for example from the USA patents 1860154 and 1860 336. However, the disulfide has the disadvantage that, due to its hydrophobic properties, it cannot be used on its own in preparations, which are intended for biological purposes, can be used as it is only intimately mixed with water, it develops its full activity. For this reason it must be combined with a hydrophilic one colloidal suspending agent, ζ. B. bentonite, fuller's earth and / or silica gel are processed. Although it does not appear that Selendisulnd and bentonite form a real chemical compound, it is reasonable to assume that this association goes beyond an intimate mixture. A manufacturing process Such selenium disulfide preparations activated with hydrophilic colloidal suspending agents is described in U.S. Patent 1,860,320.
Such agents form the active component in pesticides containing selenium disulfide. which can be in various forms, for example suspensions, scattering agents, etc., in which it is used to combat pneumonic diseases caused by fungi can be.
Such preparations can be stored in the usual aqueous medium under normal temperature conditions not be stored for a long time, as they are neither temperature- are still lightfast *. There are color changes that result from a decrease in activity are accompanied.

Der Nachweis einer-solchen Farbveränderung kann in sehr einfacher Weise von dem Fachmann geführt werden, indem er die Präparate dem in den Beispielen beschriebenen Stabilitätstest unterwirft.add a known manner anionogenic, cationogenic or nonionogenic surfactants, do not counteract the lying at the set, 2 to 6.6 pH value of stabilization. In addition, the wetting agents should not cause any physical or chemical changes that would reduce or completely destroy the effects that selenium disulfide exerts, for example as a fungicide. If there are noticeable changes in color, this is an indication of incompatibility and the associated instability of the selenium disulfide. Such a color change can be detected in a very simple manner by the person skilled in the art by subjecting the preparations to the stability test described in the examples.
Als geeignetes Netzmittel können die anionogenen Mittel vom Alkylarylsulfonattyp, wie alkylarylsulfonsauires Natrium und decylbenzolsulfonsaures Natrium und Alkoholsulfate, wie Natriumlaurylsulfat undSuitable wetting agents are the anionogenic agents of the alkylarylsulphonate type, such as alkylarylsulphonic acids Sodium and sodium decylbenzenesulfonate and alcohol sulfates such as sodium lauryl sulfate and

It has also been found that the alkyl phosphate salts are suitable as anionogenic wetting agents according to the invention.
As cationogenic wetting agents, the sulfosuccinamates, such as n-octädecyl-dinatrium sulfosuccinamate and η - Octadecyl tetra sodium (1,2-dicarboxyethyl) sulfosuccinamate be used.
Compatible, non-ionic wetting agents are the aliphatic amines. Also hexitoleate, as in some cases "Anihydlrohexit" esterified with oleic acid are as non-ionic wetting agents suitable for the purpose according to the invention.
Further information on wetting agents can be found in the examples. The wetting agents can optionally together with compounds such as the inorganic phosphate acid salts, the modified polyoxyethylene esters, the long chain amides, cellulose derivatives and others can be used.
As stabilizers for selenium disulphide activated with hydrophilic colloidal suspending agents Acids and / or acid-reacting salts are used in preparations. examples for this are Hydrochloric, sulfuric, phosphoric, acetic, propionic, lactic, citric, tartaric and succinic acids, monosodium phosphate, Sodium citrate and tartrate of sodium. The acids present in solid form and their acid salts can be added in solid form or as a solution. The latter is easier to do.
The following examples show that the stability of the selenium disulfide suspension depends on the Pjj value of the aqueous suspension is dependent.

It is clear from these examples that a suspension of hydrophilic colloidal suspending agents activated selenium disulfide in water or in water, which is only a network or surface active Agent has been added shows a noticeable color change after 18 hours. Contains the suspension In addition to the wetting agent, an acid salt, internalization occurs. after half of 48 hours there was no change in color. If only acid is added to the suspension, the color remains constant for more than 360 hours. If the suspension contains a wetting agent in addition to an acid, more occurs within a period of time no color change for more than 650 hours. The longest period within which color constancy observed was over 4400 hours and concerned a suspension containing an acid, an acid salt and contained a wetting agent. It follows that with both an acidic salt and an acid as Good stabilizing effects can also be achieved with acid alone. Excellent results will be achieved with a suspension obtained which, in addition to the acid, contains an acid salt and a wetting agent.
