Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
In contrast to the monostable and bistable Multivibratars, soft one supplied from the outside Need trigger pulse, the astable multivibrator is so strongly fed back that it is automatic and continuously overflowing from one state to the other will. While with the. mpnostable and bistable multivihratorerj, one or two states of rest are present is a. there is no such thing in the astable multivibrator, and it produces con ^ continuous impulses whose. Frequen-ζ from the lattice Eatho ^ sn potential difference depends on the tubes. If the amount of this potential difference changes, then change the tilt frequency, so u «f ^ s appears expedient to see here the astable multivibrator as a pulse generator for telemetry purposes.
In FernmessuKg it is known to be a frequent one non-electrical measurand into an electrical! current to transfer. If this measuring current, which is often the case, is taken from a Wheatstone bridge, so it is measured from the value zero, and it is required that the output from a pulse generator Frequency also assumes zero. Ice shows now that the known circuits are astable! Multiyibratoren the pulse frequency zero cannot be reached, even if the grid-Kathadm-Potetitialdifrereriz y changes from a positive value to a negative value, but that the Pulse frequency given by the tube characteristics and time costs, can only reach a minimum and then increase again.
From the calculation of astable multivibrators it is also known that it is advisable to work with a positive grid bias, because when a positive grid bias is present, the exponential rise in the grid voltage is steeper and therefore the angle of intersection between the grid voltage curve and the anode electricity limit is greater than when no grid prestress is provided. The larger this angle, however, the better the frequency stability of the output signal, since the shift of the point of intersection as a result of interference impulses is only small at large angles. It is therefore known, in the interest of the highest possible frequency stability, to work advantageously with a positive lattice mirror voltage and a greater time constant than with zero lattice bias and a correspondingly smaller time constant at the same frequency. If the astable multivibrator is to work with a variable frequency, the tubular grids are in a known manner at a variable potential, while the cathode potential is kept constant.

Tubular multi-vibrator, in each of the grid circles of which a diode is arranged to generate pulses with a repetition frequency that can be regulated down to the value zero as a function of a variable control voltage, now solves the problem posed by the. Such that the grid resistances of the Röiiren are arranged in series with the diodes and the anodes of the diodes lie on the variable control voltage ,, which with respect to 1 of the cathode potential, multivibrator tubes from a positive to a negative limit value is changeable, and at the} negative limit the multivibrator locks.

In a further embodiment of the invention, it is also recommended to use the variable S expensive voltage With the help of a preamplifier working in anode-base circuit, the output resistance of the preamplifier is reduced To supply the anodes of the two diodes and the cathodes of the multivibrator tubes to a solid, means generated by a voltage divider, positive to ground and between the limit values of the cathode potential of the preamplifier.

As far as it is known, one of the lattice circles To arrange a diode each multivibrator, this is a circuit in which the multivibrator specifically used to generate a sawtooth-shaped voltage of higher frequency, as it is z. B. is used in the operation of oscilloscopes or television receivers. The operating voltage is constant in this case, which means that the toggle frequency is always the same. Here is just an adjustability of the time constant is provided via a variable resistor, but the multivibrator not controllable within the meaning of the invention. The purpose of the known circuit is to reduce the discharge time shorten the capacitors and thus achieve an increase in the breakover frequency. This happens by connecting the diodes in front of the grid, by connecting the cathodes of the diodes directly to the grid are connected and the two anodes of the diodes are interconnected via .the common for both tubes Grid resistance are connected to a constant positive potential. These measures effect probably the creation of an ideal sawtooth curve with a linear increase in voltage and a sudden one The drop in voltage and the desired increase in the sweep frequency, however, do not point to a solution the problem underlying the invention, pulses with a depending on a variable The expensive voltage can be regulated down to the value zero Generate repetition frequency.

An astable multivibrator according to the circuit of FIG. 1 contains two triodes F 1 and F 2 , two working resistors R a , R 0 in the anode circuit of these tubes, two coupling capacitors C, C, two grid resistors R s , Rg, two 1 diodes F 3 and F 4 , a potentiometer P and a battery B as a voltage source. According to the invention, the grid resistors R g , Rg 'are each at the cathode of the diode V 3 and F 4 , and the anodes of the two diodes are at the tap of the potentiometer P, which is connected so that the tapped voltage from a positive to a negative limit value with respect to the cathode potential of the tubes F 1 , F 2 can be changed. To explain the charging and discharging processes, it is assumed that at time t 0 the tube F 1 flips from the conductive to the blocked state, the tube F 2 flips in the opposite direction, the capacitor C is charged to the anode voltage XJ A and the capacitor C is partially discharged is. The potentiometer P is initially set so that the bias voltage XJ B = 0. The course of the grid-cathode voltage of the tube F 1 is shown in Fig. 2, the interval t 0 ... t ± discharging interval for capacitor C and charging interval for capacitor C and the time interval t x . . . t 2 is the charging interval for the capacitor C and the discharging interval for the capacitor C. Because the tube F 2 becomes conductive at time t 0 , the grid voltage suddenly drops from the potential u g = 0 to a negative potential - U g0 , which is lower than the reverse voltage - U s of the tube F 1 . Since this blocks tube F 1 , a charging circuit is formed for capacitor C:
Batterie +, Ra, C, Gitter-Kathoden-Strecke der Röhre F2.Battery +, R a , C, grid-cathode section of tube F 2 .
At the same time, a discharge circuit is formed for the capacitor C:
Batterie —, P, V3, Rg, C1 Anoden-Kathoden-Strecke der Röhre F2.Battery -, P, V 3 , R g , C 1 anode-cathode section of tube F 2 .
As a result of the discharge of the capacitor C , the voltage U g rises exponentially with an asymptotic run-down towards zero potential. If the voltage reaches the potential of the reverse voltage U s at time t v , the tube F 1 becomes conductive, causing the multivibrator to tilt electrically. This process is repeated for the Röhire F 2 up to time t 2 .
. If a positive bias voltage U B is set on the potentiometer P , the result is a curve of the grid voltage, as shown in FIG. 3. The discharge of the capacitor C is now directed to the potential + U B , whereby the discharge curve becomes steeper and the grid voltage reaches the potential of the reverse voltage earlier. The time interval t Q ... t x becomes shorter and the pulse frequency increases. If a negative voltage is set at the potentiometer P , but so that the anode potential of the diodes is higher than the potential of the reverse voltage U s , if the upstream diodes according to the invention were not present, the negative bias would be applied to the conductive tube. As a result of the tube characteristics, the anode red and thus the voltage drop across the load resistance R a or R a 'would be reduced. As a result, the grid voltage would also be reduced and at time t 0 would only drop to the potential - U go r , which would be higher than without or with a positive bias. As a result, despite a flat voltage rise during the discharge, the potential of the reverse voltage would be reached earlier than without bias, and the time interval t 0 . . . t x ' would be shorter, as shown in dashed lines in FIG. The upstream diodes F 3 , F 4, however, block the negative voltage against the respective conductive tube, which causes the grid voltage to drop to a potential - U g0 as with or without a positive bias voltage (ETb = O). As a result of the discharge of the capacitor C , the voltage Ug increases exponentially with an asymptotic decline towards the potential - U B. The potential of the reverse voltage U 8 is reached at time t ± , and there is a longer time interval £ 0 .... t t and a smaller breakover frequency. If the bias voltage U B is set to be even more negative, d, h. equal to or greater than the reverse voltage, a curve of the grid voltage arises, as shown in FIG. 5. The grid voltage - «g can no longer reach the potential of the reverse voltage at all, and the multivibrator no longer tilts. This achieves the aim of the invention to be able to control an astable multivibrator down to the frequency zero.

If the torque balance is usually too small for direct control of a multivibrator, it is advisable to connect an amplifier tube upstream of the multivibrator. Fig. 6 shows the circuit of a symmetrical, astable multivibrator with an upstream amplifier for converting a measured variable into pulses. The arrangement of the tubes V 1 , V 2 , the load resistors R 0 , Ra, the coupling capacitors C, C and the grid resistance R g , R / corresponds to the circuit according to FIG. 1. The grid resistances R g and R g ' Upstream diodes are combined in a double diode V 5. The amplifier consists of a tube V 6 , a grid resistor R i and a load resistor R 3 , which is between ground and cathode. The source of the control voltage (not shown) is parallel to the resistor R 4 , with the negative pole on the grid, and controls the current of the tube V 6. Since this current flows through the working resistance ' R 3 , the cathode potential of the tube V 6 changes between a lower and an upper limit value, but always positive with respect to it The anodes of the double diode V 5 are connected to this potential so that the lower limit value can be sufficiently negative compared to the cathode potential of the tubes V 1 , V 2 to cause the multivibrator to operate block, the cathodes of the tubes V 1 , V 2 are connected to a voltage divider R 1 , R 2 above the battery B, and the cathodes receive a fixed positive potential with respect to ground through the resistors R 1 , R 2 , which is between the limit values of the There is tax potential. The pulse voltage generated by the multivibrator can be tapped, for example, at the anode of the tube V 2 and used to control an audio frequency generator which sends audio-frequency pulses to a transmission line in time with the pulse voltage.
The multivibrator does not need to be built strictly symmetrically, since it is irrelevant for the transmission and evaluation of telemetry pulses if the intervals t Q ... t x and t t ... t 2 are not exactly the same. If the multivibrator is to be used, for example, for the pulsed excitation of a relay, the relay can advantageously be coupled electronically without any reaction. Fig. 7 shows the circuit of an asymmetrical, astable multi-vibrator 4 ^ with an upstream amplifier, and a coupled relay for converting a measured variable in pulses, The arrangement of the amplifier and the generation of the control potential corresponds to the arrangement of Figure 1. 6, the amplifier tube V 6 and the multivibrator tube V 1 being merged into a double triode V 1 . Instead of the multivibrator tube V 2 , a pentode V 8 is used, the screen grid of which serves as an anode. In the real. The anode circuit of the pentode V 8 is connected in series with a load resistor R 5, a relay A whose contact α opens and closes in time with the pulses. This circuit has the advantage that, in addition to the reaction-free coupling of the relay, a better rectangular shape is achieved for the excitation current of the relay.
