Description
Process for stripping granular contact material from a dryer The contact substance used in the treatment of oils for the purpose of discoloration, cleaning, etc. must after some time because of pollution from carbonaceous precipitation regenerated so that it can be used again in the contact zone. In the Regeneration zone. the impurities of the contact substance burned off. There however, the used contact material coming from the contact zone is a considerable one If the amount of oil adhering to it contains, it must be dodged with a before regeneration Solvent take place.
It is also not advisable to use the washed contact material immediately to introduce into the rain, eration zone because on this, even if one. the solvent by passing the contact substance over a sieve, still a considerable amount Amount of adhering solvent remains. Will the contact substance in this state regenerated, so the solvent burns, whereby the temperature in. The regeneration zone can become so high that the effectiveness of the contact substance is impaired, quite apart from the fact that valuable solvent is lost in this way.
It is therefore advisable to check the contact material before introducing it Regeneration zone: ne to dry in a dryer. This dryer must also be opposite the regeneration zone or the conveyor system leading to this zone so that the solvent that evaporates during drying does not mix with that from the Dryer outgoing contact substance enters the regeneration zone. For chamber valves or other locking devices have been used to date been that mediated a gas-tight seal. However, these devices have the disadvantage that considerable abrasion of the contact material and heavy wear of the devices arises.
According to the invention, a closure chamber is used which automatically kept filled with contact material is removed by removing the contact material the dryer is introduced into the locking chamber above, from which it is through a line inserted approximately below the feed point at the bottom of the chamber is discharged again and then through a lift to a level above the chamber to be promoted, from where it goes on into a regeneration vessel. Of this Level off is returned to the chamber through a pipe as the return flow, that a bed of constant height is always maintained in this.
The invention is illustrated by way of example in the drawing. FIG. 1 shows a schematic side view of a dryer with the associated Device for removing and conveying contact substances, Fig. 2 a vertical Cut through the dryer.
The dryer 38 shown in Fig. 1 forms part of an installation for discoloration or other treatment of mineral oils, whereby a granular contact material falls in a treatment vessel by gravity continuously downward while being guided 01 in countercurrent through the vessel. The contact substance withdrawn from the treatment vessel is freed from adhering oil in a washing vessel by means of a solvent and then runs over a sieve device, where the solvent can drip off. The still moist contact substance then passes through the inlet line 37 into the dryer in order to evaporate the remaining solvent.
The dryer 38 (Fig. 2) has an intermediate floor 74 below, whereby he into a space 75 filled with inert gas under the false floor and into the actual drying chamber 76 is divided. The gas space 75 is by a number from. Openings 77 in the false floor, which have distributor caps 78, with the drying chamber 76 connected, in which there are serpentine heating pipes 80, of which in Figure 2 the bends can be seen at one end of the coil turns. The pipes are held against bending by vertical tube sheets 81.
Through the intermediate floor 74 and the actual floor of the dryer outlet pipes 91 go to the outside, which are used for emptying the dryer at standstill the System are used and are closed by caps 92 during operation.
By feeding the inert gas, for example steam or exhaust gas, into the gas space 75, an upwardly directed gas flow is generated from the distributor caps 78 in this way. that the contact substance supplied through the line 37 forms a fluidized bed in the drying chamber 76. As FIG. 2 shows, the contact material is fed through the line 37 to a wall of the dryer, which is rectangular in cross section. The line 37 branches downward, that is to say in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the drawing in FIG. 2, so that the contact substance enters the left wall of the dryer in a distributed manner as evenly as possible. The supplied moist contact material first sinks down into the fluidized bed and mixes with the already dried contact material grains of the fluidized bed in the lower part of the drying chamber 76, since the moist contact material is heavier than the already dried one. The evaporated solvent passes together with the gas which is used to generate the fluidized bed in a space 84 above the fluidized bed indicated by dashed lines. The space 84 is closed at the top by a throttle plate 86 with openings 87, which is at a distance from the ceiling of the drying chamber. A number of heating pipes 88 are housed in this space. The throttle plate 86 causes gas and solvent to be withdrawn evenly over the entire cross section of the dryer, with heat being supplied through the heating pipes 88 to avoid condensation. The gas and solvent vapor then exit through outlet 42.
The dryer is operated with a gas pressure that is slightly above atmospheric pressure and is set so that the fluidized bed is the level shown in FIG achieved. The wall opposite the inlet 37 is at this level of the dryer a slot-like overflow 85 is provided, to which a drainage channel 46 connects, through which the dried contact material goes down. The cross section of the drainage channel 46 is so wide that the contact material grains fall freely downward can and a filling of the channel 46 with contact material does not take place. A damming in this channel 46 is also prevented that enough contact material in the further conveying run is deducted, as will be explained further below.
Das Gas geht zusammen mit dem Gas für das Wirbelbett durch den Auslaß 42 ab.Passes through a line 47 connected to the channel 46 at the bottom the contact material in a closure chamber 48, which is passed through a box-like vessel is represented by a square cross-section. In the locking chamber 48 is running maintaining a bed of contact material and through line 69 an inert gas, e.g. Exhaust gas, introduced in such an amount that in the sealing chamber 48 a slightly larger There is pressure than in space 84 of the dryer. Most of this gas flows through the channel 46 against the contact material falling downwards and upwards removes any remaining solvent on the contact material. The gas goes together with the gas for the fluidized bed through the outlet 42.
At the bottom of the sealing chamber 48, approximately below the confluence of the supply line 47, a discharge line 49 is attached, through which the contact material is discharged downward from the bed in the sealing chamber as a compact stream under the action of gravity. At the lower end of this line 49, which runs obliquely, a valve 72 with a throttle plate 71 is provided. The valve is used to be able to shut off the flow of contact material completely, while the throttle plate 71 sets a certain constant flow rate of the contact material which is greater than the amount of contact material overflowing from the dryer into the channel 46.
Behind the valve 72 , the contact material arrives at the lower end of a lifting mechanism 50, through which the contact material is conveyed to a level far above the dryer. A bypass line 70 is provided between the housing of the throttle plate 71 and the elevator, through which gas, which passes down through the line 49 with the contact substance, is guided behind the throttle 71 in order to bring about vain pressure equalization at the throttle.
The contact material arrives at the upper end of the elevator 50 (FIG. 1) through a short line 51 into a feed vessel 52. A line leads from this 56 in the regeneration vessel, not shown.
A line 53 also leads from the feed vessel 52 via a pressure equalization pot 54 with inlet and outlet 73 and 74 for a sealing gas and further a line 55 to the sealing chamber 48. Through this line, a certain amount of contact material is continuously returned to the locking chamber. The closing gas supplied at 73 becomes supplied with a pressure lying above the pressure in the sealing chamber, and a Part of the gas passes together with the contact substance through line 55 into the Closure chamber, from which it together with the directly through the line 69 in the gas introduced into the sealing chamber flows off in the manner already described.
The line 55 opens at the top of the lock chamber at a point which is offset from the derivative 49. The horizontal distance between the two lines 55 and 49 is only so large that taking into account the angle of repose of the contact material the opening of the lower line 49 is always covered by contact material. As an an example an angle of repose of 30 ° is indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 1. In contrast the angle between the mouths of the upper and lower conduits 55, 49 is substantial larger, it is indicated in Fig. 1 with, for example, 75 °. This versus the Angle of approach and departure much larger - angle is used because of the angle of approach of the contact substance only applies to a static contact substance pile. The angle will considerably steeper when the pile is in motion, which is when the system is working usually is the case. Through the, relocation of the two mouths of the lines 55 and 49 are therefore reached in any case, d: a, ß even when the track is constantly slipping Contact material the mouth of the lower line 49 always from a contact material layer remains covered.
As a result of this design of the locking chamber 48 is in this and in the subsequent lead 49, which acts as a '\' connecting column, then also continuously Maintaining a contact fabric bed if for any reason the: out of the dryer The amount of contact substance discharged through the line 47 is too small or at all no more contact substance reaches the sealing chamber 48 from the dryer. In this Case is still the set amount of contact substance via the throttle 71 withdrawn, which is now fully replaced by the return to the chamber 48. Of course the clear width of the feed line 55 of the return to the closure chamber 48 is so large selected so that with each setting of the throttle 71 a sufficient return flow rate is available. The return volume increases as it decreases Inflow of contact substance from line 47 and decreases with increasing inflow from this Line off automatically. However, it does not drop to zero because the flow rate caused by the throttle 71 in the discharge line 49 is greater than the highest the expected discharge volume of the dryer is set. It is therefore always a certain return flow is present through the lines 53, 55, which has the consequence da.ß the returning contact substance in the lines mentioned is not too strong can cool down.
