Methods of making plastics in recent times are many
Methods have become known that allow linear polyesters, polyamides
and polyurethanes to manufacture plastics that are rapidly entering the field of technology

it is known, for example, to react olefin compounds with azodicarboxylic acid esters.
Other high molecular weight products are obtained by using polymers containing N H groups

technische Verwendung recht interessante Eigenschaften besitzen. Das Buten-(2) kann
also die folgenden Konstitutionen besitzen
R = H oder ein Alkyl- oder Arylrest. It has now been found that technically valuable plastics can be obtained in a new way. If one reacts a butene (2) partially or wholly substituted on the terminal hydrocarbon atoms by alkyl or aryl radicals with an aliphatic bis (azodicarboxylic acid ester) and reacts the product obtained with a di- or polyisocyanate, high polymers are obtained which have quite interesting properties for technical use. Butene- (2) can have the following constitutions R = H or an alkyl or aryl radical.
Der Bis-(azodicarbonsäureester) kann die nachfolgende Konstitution
haben:
Mit Olefinen reagiert er unter Addition. The bis (azodicarboxylic acid ester) can have the following constitution: It reacts with olefins with addition.
The course of the reaction can be imagined as follows: It can be seen that there are reactive hydrogen atoms at the points marked by circles, which can react with di- or poly-isocyanates. If these compounds are then reacted with di- or polyisocyanates, one arrives at cross-linked plastics. The use of bis (azodicarboxylic acid esters) results in a product that contains active hydrogen atoms. These are of great importance in the production process because only then is it possible to react with isocyanates, which can lead to crosslinking. The formation of a three-dimensional molecule with crosslinking is very important for the properties of the resulting product. Furthermore, the properties of the plastic still depend to a considerable extent on the compound that is reacted with isocyanate. It is precisely the combination of substituted butene (2), bis (azodicarboxylic acid ester) and isocyanate that makes up the main feature of the invention and causes a crosslinked chain from an aliphatic period to come together with an azo ester, so that a substance can be formed which in its properties are close to those of rubber, but are superior in terms of resistance to swelling and aging. The other behavior also enables the product according to the process to be used technically for adhesives and paints.
