Abstract

The drill tool is designed as a long shaft with a head provided with cutting grooves and at least two main cutting edges as well as a centering tip with a transversal cutting edge. The main cutting edges (5) are of a concave shape. The transversal cutting areas are provided with pointed cutting edges (8) and positioned adjacent to the main cutting edges (5). Biconcave areas (10) are located beside each of the pointed cutting edges (8). All cutting edges (5, 8, 9, 13) are rounded in a second step during the production process. The drill head is made of hard metal or coated with a reinforcing layer.
