Description

Exhaust System The invention relates to an within the body exhaust system arranged in aerodynamically designed sports vehicles, whose heat radiation is eliminated by passing air; by the exhaust system at least in the area of the passenger compartment is surrounded by an air duct which is covered by Fresh air is flowed through and back into the open near the exhaust port empties.

The invention consists in the combination of the three in part per se known features that a) the mouth of the exhaust system with the air duct a Ejector forms, b) an additional air inlet in front of the muffler of the exhaust system is provided and that c) additional fresh air through this air inlet as a result an injector-like design of the additional air inlet with the air duct through which fresh air flowing along the air duct is sucked in.

This advantageously ensures that that part of the exhaust system, which contributes significantly to the warming up of the interior of the body, namely the muffler, Brushed particularly intensively with heat-dissipating fresh air without great effort will.

The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention shown schematically in a section through a motor vehicle.

Das Rohr 10 mit seinem Eintrittsquerschnitt 13 bildet vor dem Auspufftopf 5 mit dem Austrittsquerschnitt 9 des Rohres 6 eine Art Injektor 15.Along the bottom wall 1 within the motor vehicle body 2 is the exhaust pipe 4 emanating from the engine 3 of the motor vehicle with the muffler 5 relocated. The exhaust line 4 is enclosed by the pipe 6 so that a annular air channel 7 is formed. The inlet cross section 8 of the pipe 6 lies in front of the engine 3 and is directed in the opposite direction to the driving wind. The exit cross-section 9 of the pipe 6 lies in front of the muffler 5. Another pipe 10 also surrounds it Distance the muffler 5 and the end 11 of the exhaust line such that the annular Air duct 12 is formed. The inlet cross section 13 of the tube 10 is in the Bottom wall 1 of the body in front of the exit cross section 9 of the pipe 10 opening tube 6. The end of the tube 10 forms in front of the rear wall of the body 2 with the end 11 of the exhaust pipe ejector 14. The pipe 10 with its inlet cross section 13 forms in front of the muffler 5 with the outlet cross section 9 of the pipe 6 Type injector 15.

Fresh air entering through the inlet cross section 8 of the pipe 6 already cools the exhaust line 4 from an area in the vicinity of the engine 3 all. As soon as this air in front of the muffler 5 from the outlet cross section 9 from the pipe 6 enters the pipe 10 enveloping the muffler is injector-like additional fresh air into the air duct through the inlet opening 13 of the pipe 10 12 sucked, so that the hottest part of the exhaust system, the muffler 5, especially is intensively cooled.

The ejector 14 at the end of the exhaust system sets in at higher driving speeds reduces the exhaust back pressure in the sense of an increase in performance. When the vehicle is stationary and the internal combustion engine is running through the ejector 14 with the help of the exhaust flow causes the air present in the air duct to move through the air duct, so that heat can be dissipated from the exhaust system even when the vehicle is stationary takes place.
