Description
Technisches GebietTechnical area
The invention relates to a method for charging an electric vehicle according to the preamble of
Stand der TechnikState of the art
Recently the number of electric vehicles has increased significantly. The trend towards electric vehicles can be expected to increase in the future, especially in the context of combating climate change and reducing dependence on petroleum-based fuel.
The disadvantage of electric vehicles is that they typically have to be charged over a longer period of time, although a charging infrastructure is currently not yet available across the board or at least not in satisfactory numbers. This problem of the availability of the charging infrastructure will only get worse in the future as the number of electric vehicles grows.
Allgemeine Beschreibung der ErfindungGeneral description of the invention
The object of the invention is to eliminate or at least reduce the disadvantages of the prior art.
The task is solved by a method for charging an electric vehicle, wherein a mobile charging infrastructure is brought to the electric vehicle in order to charge the electric vehicle.
The invention is based on the knowledge that in many cases it is time-consuming and generally impractical to bring an electric vehicle to a charging infrastructure, for example an electric charging station, especially when there is a lot of traffic, the owner of the electric vehicle in a multi-party household with no or not sufficient charging infrastructure and/or if the distance between the electric vehicle and the nearest charging station exceeds several kilometers.
The invention solves the above-mentioned disadvantages of the prior art in that the electric vehicle does not have to be moved for charging, but can remain in place while a mobile charging infrastructure comes to the electric vehicle to charge the electric vehicle. This saves time and money for owners of electric vehicles. In addition, this solution is also advantageous from a global energy efficiency perspective because it makes it possible, for example, for a mobile charging infrastructure to travel from electric vehicle to electric vehicle in order to charge these electric vehicles one after the other. If instead several electric vehicles drove separately to charging stations, much more electrical energy would be consumed. Seen in this way, the method according to the invention can also have the advantage that it can generally make a contribution to increasing energy efficiency in road traffic and thus ideally limit man-made climate change.
The term “electric vehicle” includes, for example, cars, buses, trucks, two-wheelers, boats and, in principle, any other type of vehicle that is powered by an electric motor. A “mobile charging infrastructure” means, for example, a battery or other energy storage device installed in a vehicle. In general, the “mobile charging infrastructure” is typically suitable for providing electrical energy to an electric vehicle and/or charging it.
In advantageous embodiments, a straight line between an initial location of the mobile charging infrastructure and a location of an electric vehicle is a maximum of 70 kilometers, preferably a maximum of 60 kilometers, preferably a maximum of 50 kilometers. The inventors have found that such maximum distances offer a good compromise between energy efficiency on the one hand and practicality of the process on the other. In advantageous embodiments, a straight-line distance between the initial location of the mobile charging infrastructure and the location of the electric vehicle is referred to as normal if it is a maximum of 30 kilometers and is referred to as large if it is more than 30 kilometers.
In advantageous embodiments, the method comprises a coordination process, within the framework of which the electric vehicle and/or an owner of the electric vehicle and/or a charging computer program, on the one hand, and a charging coordination device, on the other hand, communicate with one another. In typical embodiments, the electric vehicle includes a communication device, which can be part of a central vehicle control, for example. In typical embodiments, the owner of the electric vehicle communicates with the charging coordinator using an application on a portable computing device. For example, the owner of the electric vehicle communicates via an app on a mobile phone with the charging coordination device. In general, the term “charging coordination device” is typically to be understood in the sense of a system that coordinates the delivery of the mobile charging infrastructure to the electric vehicle and advantageously also the charging of the electric vehicle through the mobile charging infrastructure. The “charging coordination device” can be a distributed system, which is implemented in particular in a cloud and/or on one or more servers using computer program codes. In advantageous embodiments, the charging coordination device is continuously and preferably automatically further developed by algorithms from the field of artificial intelligence, so that, for example, the energy efficiency of the method can be improved, for example because travel routes and/or charging processes of electric vehicles and/or charging processes of the mobile charging infrastructure itself are optimized become.
In advantageous embodiments, the method comprises a vehicle detail transmission step, in the context of which a vehicle detail of the electric vehicle, in particular owner information and/or a brand and/or a model and/or a registration number and/or a charging connection technology of the electric vehicle, is transmitted, preferably from the electric vehicle itself or from the owner of the electric vehicle or from the charging computer program to the charging coordination device. Such a vehicle detail transmission step has the advantage that, for example, in configurations where a plurality of mobile charging infrastructures are used, a particularly suitable mobile charging infrastructure can be selected for the electric vehicle, for example with regard to a charging connection technology of the electric vehicle.

- - a payment step in which payment is made for charging the electric vehicle, in particular contactless, and/or
- - a finger-tapping step, in which the owner of the electric vehicle preferably influences the process simply by tapping with a finger, in particular on a display.
In advantageous embodiments, a period of time between a charge order and an arrival of the mobile charging infrastructure at the electric vehicle is a maximum of 65 minutes, preferably a maximum of 50 minutes, advantageously a maximum of 35 minutes.

The task is further solved by a mobile charging infrastructure, wherein the mobile charging infrastructure is suitable for being brought to an electric vehicle in order to charge the electric vehicle. The charging process can be done using a charging cable or automatically and autonomously using induction. After the charging process, the master automatically picks up the slave again and drives to the next electric vehicle to be charged. The vehicle, i.e. the master, into which the mobile charging infrastructure is integrated in such a case, is advantageously itself an electric vehicle.
The invention is further solved by a charging coordination device which is suitable for coordinating the charging of the electric vehicle by a mobile charging infrastructure according to the invention. In typical embodiments, the charge coordinator is a charge coordinator as described above.
