Technische AufgabeTechnical task
The object of the invention is to create a system and a method for cosmetic skin treatment that can be individually adapted to the requirements of a skin treatment, is easy to use and carry out, and is inexpensive.
The present invention provides a system according to claim 1 which solves the technical problem. The task is also solved by a method according to claim 12. Advantageous refinements are the subject of the dependent claims.
The system is designed for cosmetic skin treatment, for example for the treatment of acne, psoriasis, eczema, neurodermatitis and/or herpes, wherein the skin treatment is preferably carried out by a layperson, in particular by the person being treated himself, and/or as a home application.
The system comprises a hand-held device for applying a treatment liquid to a skin area, in particular to an area of a Face. A hand-held device in the sense of the invention is characterized in that its size, shape and mass are designed in such a way that a user can hold the hand-held device in one hand during the intended use. The hand-held device preferably has a grip area, in particular an ergonomically shaped one, by which the user can hold the hand-held device in his hand.
The handheld device includes a replaceable fluid cartridge that contains the treatment fluid. By replacing a first liquid cartridge with a new liquid cartridge, the handheld device can be filled with new treatment liquid in a particularly simple and safe manner when the treatment liquid in the first liquid cartridge has been used up. In addition, by replacing the liquid cartridge, different treatment liquids, for example treatment liquids of different concentrations, can be easily applied with a single handheld device depending on the requirements of the skin treatment.
The handheld device includes a gas source for generating a gas stream formed from a transport gas for transporting the treatment liquid to the skin area. The transport gas is, for example, air or an inert gas, in particular nitrogen.
The hand-held device comprises a mixing chamber which is connected to the liquid cartridge in a liquid-conducting manner and is connected to the gas source in a gas-conducting manner for mixing the treatment liquid with the transport gas.
The system includes several interchangeable nozzles for shaping the gas stream as it exits the handheld device, one of the nozzles for the gas stream being conductively connected to the mixing chamber.
By means of exchangeable nozzles, the type of application, for example the size of the area to which the treatment liquid is applied and/or the depth of penetration of the treatment liquid into the skin area, can be adapted to the requirements of the skin treatment in a particularly simple manner.
The treatment liquid is an aqueous solution containing hypochlorous acid with a hypochlorite concentration of at least 50 ppm. The hypochlorite concentration is preferably from 50 ppm to 5000 ppm, in particular from 200 ppm to 2000 ppm, particularly preferably from 400 ppm to 1000 ppm.
Vorteilhafte WirkungenBeneficial effects
An aqueous solution of hypochlorous acid with a concentration in the above-mentioned ranges allows effective and safe cosmetic skin treatment.
The combination of interchangeable liquid cartridges and interchangeable nozzles allows the application to be adapted to the requirements of the skin treatment in a very simple and very versatile manner, without the need for a complicated or expensive treatment device. In particular, no complex, for example electronic, control devices or regulating devices are necessary.
In preferred embodiments, the system does not require an energy source to apply the treatment liquid or to control or adjust the application. This is achieved, for example, by the gas source comprising a gas cartridge which contains the transport gas under excess pressure, and the nozzles can be interchanged purely mechanically. This eliminates the need for internal energy sources such as batteries, which would make the handheld device heavier, more expensive and less durable. A connection to an energy source external to the handheld device, such as an electrical socket, which would make handling the handheld device more difficult, can also be dispensed with.
Beschreibung der AusführungsartenDescription of execution types
The gas source preferably comprises a replaceable gas cartridge containing the transport gas, wherein the transport gas in the gas cartridge is under an overpressure. With the help of replaceable gas cartridges, the transport gas can be quickly, easily and safely refilled and/or exchanged for another transport gas that meets the requirements of the skin treatment.
An "overpressure" in the sense of the invention is a pressure that is higher than the ambient pressure of the gas cartridge, for example a pressure that is higher by 3 bar to 300 bar, in particular by 5 bar to 200 bar, preferably by 10 bar to 100 bar. Due to the overpressure, the transport gas can escape from the gas cartridge without further aids, such as pumps, and without an additional energy source and form the gas flow for transporting the treatment liquid.
The gas source can, for example, be a compressor for compressing the transport gas and/or a pump device for extracting the transport gas from a gas reservoir of the hand-held device, from an environment of the hand-held device and/or from to pump a gas source external to the handheld device to the mixing chamber. A design of the gas source with a pump device is particularly advantageous when the transport gas is ambient air, so that no gas reservoir and no external gas source are necessary to use the system.
The hand-held device preferably comprises an ultrasonic emitter arranged on and/or in the mixing chamber for ultrasonic atomization of the treatment liquid. Ultrasonic atomization leads to a particularly homogeneous distribution of the treatment liquid in the transport gas and thus also on the skin area. This results in a particularly homogeneous treatment result. In addition, the treatment liquid forms particularly small droplets due to the ultrasonic atomization, which prevents the nozzle connected to the mixing chamber from clogging.
The handheld device preferably comprises an adjustment device connected to the gas source and the mixing chamber in a gas-conducting manner for adjusting a flow of the transport gas from the gas source to the mixing chamber. The adjustment device can comprise, for example, an adjustable valve for adjusting the flow. The flow can be adjusted manually, mechanically, electromechanically, electronically, automatically and/or computer-controlled. With the aid of the adjustment device, the flow can be adjusted so that the gas flow can cause a flow of the treatment liquid suitable for the skin treatment and/or a suitable pulse of the treatment liquid. The pulse of the treatment liquid can advantageously control the depth of penetration of the treatment liquid into the skin area.
The handheld device preferably comprises a pump device, wherein the pump device is designed to pump the treatment liquid from the liquid cartridge to the mixing chamber.
The treatment liquid can be under an overpressure in the liquid cartridge. This allows the treatment liquid to be transported to the mixing chamber by the overpressure without a separate pumping device or energy source, as described above for the transport gas.
The hand-held device preferably comprises an adjusting device which is connected in a fluid-conducting manner to the liquid cartridge and the mixing chamber for adjusting a flow of the treatment liquid from the liquid cartridge to the mixing chamber. The statements mentioned above regarding the adjustment device for the flow of the transport gas apply accordingly to this adjustment device.
The hand-held device preferably comprises an exchange device for exchanging the nozzle which is connected to the mixing chamber in a liquid-conducting manner with another of the nozzles. The exchange can be mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, automated and/or computer controlled. The replacement device allows faster and easier replacement of the nozzles, in particular without having to separate the nozzles from the handheld device, which could cause them to be lost or contaminated or damaged.
The exchange device can, for example, comprise a revolver drum containing the nozzles, so that by rotating the revolver drum about its axis of rotation, each of the nozzles can be individually connected to the mixing chamber.
The hand-held device preferably comprises a dilution device, which is connected to the mixing chamber in a fluid-conducting manner, for diluting the treatment fluid with water. The dilution device can be used to adjust the concentration of the treatment fluid to the requirements of the skin treatment, starting from a single basic concentration, which is present in the fluid cartridge, for example. The dilution can be set manually, mechanically, electromechanically, electronically, automatically and/or computer-controlled.
The handheld device may comprise a water tank and/or a connection for a water source external to the handheld device to provide the water for the dilution device.
The nozzles preferably differ from one another in that the gas flow expands to different degrees. A surface area of the treated skin area and/or a pulse of the treatment liquid impinging on the skin area can be adjusted by means of a different degree of expansion, in order in particular to control a penetration depth of the treatment liquid into the skin area.
The gas stream preferably exits the handheld device along an exit axis, with at least one of the nozzles being designed to cause the gas stream to rotate about the exit axis. Due to the rotation, the treatment liquid hits the skin area with a varying direction of incidence and can therefore penetrate the skin area particularly effectively.
The system preferably comprises a device that is communicative with the ultrasonic emitter, the adjustment device for the flow of the treatment liquid and/or the transport gas, the pumping device, a computer device connected to the exchange device and/or the dilution device, wherein the computer device is configured for automated control of the ultrasonic emitter, the adjustment device for the flow of the treatment liquid and/or the transport gas, the pumping device, the exchange device and/or the dilution device.
The computer device can in particular be programmed to optimally adjust the system based on input values entered into the computer device by a user of the system. The input values can include, for example, properties of the skin area to be treated, in particular a skin type, an age and/or a body part of the skin area, properties of an observed biofilm and/or properties of the skin treatment. A relevant property of the biofilm can, for example, be its development phase, since the mechanical properties of the biofilm, and thus the penetration ability of the treatment liquid into the biofilm, depend on its development phase. To select the optimal settings of the system, the computing device can contain a database or be communicatively connected to a database that contains the optimal settings depending on the input values.
The computing device can be integrated into the handheld device or arranged outside the handheld device. The computing device can in particular be a smartphone. The computer device allows particularly easy and safe control of the system and effective skin treatment.
The system preferably comprises an observation device for observing a biofilm on the skin area, wherein the observation device comprises a light source for exciting a fluorescence of the biofilm with an excitation light emitted by the light source. With the aid of the observation device, a user of the system can easily observe the biofilm and recognize the need for treatment and/or the success of the treatment.
The light source includes, for example, a number of one, two, three, four or more light-emitting diodes (LED).
The excitation light has an excitation band in a wavelength range from 300 nm to 710 nm, for example from 350 nm to 500 nm, in particular from 400 nm to 450 nm. In a preferred embodiment, the excitation light is violet, in particular with an intensity maximum at a wavelength of 405 nm.
The fluorescence produces a fluorescent light with a fluorescent band in a wavelength range from 405 nm to 800 nm, for example from 500 nm to 750 nm, in particular from 600 nm to 710 nm. The fluorescent light can, for example, have two intensity maxima at wavelengths of 635 nm and 708 nm, which are due to the fluorescence of protoporphyrin IX in the biofilm.
The observation device comprises a wavelength filter for observing the skin area through the wavelength filter, wherein the wavelength filter has a lower transmittance for the excitation band than for the fluorescence band. By filtering out the excitation band, the wavelength filter enables a user of the system to more easily detect the fluorescence and the user is protected from potential health hazards caused by the short-wave excitation light.
The wavelength filter, for example, has a transmittance of 0% to 1%, in particular 0.0% to 0.1%, for the excitation band. For example, the wavelength filter has a transmittance of 25% to 100%, in particular 50% to 100%, for the fluorescence band. The wavelength filter includes, for example, a long-pass filter that only allows light with a wavelength above 520 nm to pass.
The observation device and the hand-held device preferably include mutually complementary connecting elements, for example plug connectors and/or locking connectors, for releasably attaching the observation device to the hand-held device.
The observation device preferably comprises a shielding element, the shielding element being designed to be placed on the skin area in such a way that the skin area is shielded from ambient light. By blocking ambient light, the shielding element simplifies observation of fluorescence. In addition, the shielding element prevents the excitation light, which could pose a health hazard, from escaping uncontrollably.
The shielding element is preferably a hollow body with a partially open attachment side for attachment to the skin area, with the light source being arranged in the hollow body. As a result, the light source only emits the excitation light into the hollow body and not in an uncontrolled manner into the area surrounding the hollow body.
The hollow body is preferably made of a soft plastic or rubber so that the hollow body can be placed tightly against the skin area without injuring the skin area.
The wavelength filter preferably forms a section of a filter side of the hollow body opposite the attachment side. The area of skin adjacent to the attachment side can thus be observed through the wavelength filter, whereby the observation device is particularly simple in design.
The method according to the invention for cosmetic skin treatment is carried out with a system according to the invention, the method comprising applying the treatment liquid to an area of skin using the handheld device of the system.
The method preferably comprises controlling the ultrasound emitter, the adjustment device for the flow of the treatment liquid and/or the transport gas, the pumping device, the exchange device and/or the dilution device of the hand-held device depending on properties of the skin area, the skin treatment and/or a biofilm on the skin area observed with the observation device of the system.
The control is preferably carried out by the computer device of the system, wherein the computer device preferably optimally adjusts the system as explained above based on input values entered by a user of the system.
The method preferably includes observing the biofilm before a first application and after the first application, comparing the biofilm before the first application and after the first application, and controlling the ultrasound emitter, the adjusting device for the flow of the treatment liquid and/or the transport gas, the pump device, the exchange device and / or the dilution device of the handheld device for further application depending on a result of the comparison. By comparing, further application can be adjusted depending on the success of the first application in order to optimize the effectiveness of further application.
The control is preferably carried out by the computer device of the system, in particular based on properties of the biofilm before and after the first application entered by a user of the system.
The method preferably comprises a first application and a second application of the treatment liquid with the hand-held device to the skin area after the first application, the first application being carried out through a first of the nozzles of the system and the second application through a second of the nozzles, the first nozzle and the second nozzle shaping the gas flow differently as it exits the hand-held device. As a result, the first application and the second application can achieve complementary effects for a successful skin treatment.
The first nozzle preferably expands the gas flow more strongly as it exits the handheld device than the second nozzle. As a result, the first nozzle distributes the treatment liquid over a large area and with a small penetration depth on the skin area in order to initially carry out a superficial skin treatment. The second nozzle allows the treatment liquid to penetrate deeper into the skin area in order to additionally effect a skin treatment in the pores of the skin area - preferably previously opened with the first nozzle on the skin surface.
