Abstract
A vehicle window is proposed, comprising a composite structure which includes an outer window body (16) and an inner window body (18) as well as a flat PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement (20) which has a PDLC, SPD or eInk layer (22) and which is arranged completely between the inner disc body (18) and the outer disc body (16). The flat PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement (20) comprises a circumferential film frame (32), which borders an outer edge of the PDLC, SPD or eInk layer (22) with an inner edge and which surrounds the circumferential edge the PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement (20).
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Fahrzeugscheibe mit den Merkmalen des Oberbegriffs des Patentanspruchs 1.The invention relates to a vehicle window with the features of the preamble of patent claim 1.
The problem with previous vehicle windows of the type described above is that moisture and/or plasticizers in the plastics of the laminate can penetrate into the PDLC arrangement, which impairs its functionality. For sealing purposes, an edge sealing of the PDLC arrangement itself or an edge sealing of the composite structure as a whole has so far been provided. The edge sealing of the PDLC arrangement itself can be done using a suitable adhesive strip, laser welding or sealing the edge using a UV-curing adhesive or sealant. All of these processes are complex and represent an additional process step in the production of the vehicle window. Sealing the edges of the composite structure as a whole is complicated. There is also a risk of damage to the composite during the additional process step. In addition, the edge sealing can possibly enter into undesirable chemical reactions with edge foaming or edge foaming that has to be added later.
The invention is based on the object of creating a vehicle window designed according to the type mentioned in the introduction, in which the electronic shading arrangement is installed with sufficient sealing against the environment, without the need for additional process steps.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the vehicle window with the features of patent claim 1.
According to the invention, a vehicle window is therefore proposed which comprises a composite structure which has an outer window body and an inner window body as well as a flat PDLC arrangement (polymer-dispersed liquid crystal arrangement), SPD arrangement (Suspended Particle Device = SPD) or eInk arrangement (eInk = electronic ink ), which comprises a PDLC, SPD or eInk layer and which is arranged completely between the inner disk body and the outer disk body. The flat PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement comprises a circumferential film frame, which borders with its inner edge on an outer edge of the PDLC, SPD or eInk layer and which borders the circumferential edge of the PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement forms.
The PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement of the vehicle window according to the invention is therefore designed in such a way that it comprises a central element, which in particular can have a rectangular base area and has the PDLC, SPD or eInk layer, which is formed on both sides by one Plastic film is limited, which is formed from PET or the like and has the same footprint as the PDLC, SPD or eInk layer. A particularly transparent electrode is preferably formed on the inside of the plastic films, which can be formed from an ITO (indium tin oxide) coating or the like. The circumferential film frame, which is also completely accommodated between the inner body of the pane and the outer body of the pane and is formed by an additional element of the composite structure, borders this unit made of the PDLC, SPD or eInk layer and the plastic films. The film frame, which represents a frame-like blank, has the required properties in terms of moisture stability and sealing, including against any diffusion of plasticizers in the plastics of the material composite, and can be integrated into the lamination of the composite structure without an additional process step. In particular, when the film frame is arranged in a non-transparent area of the vehicle window, it cannot impair the appearance of the vehicle window through clouding or the like. The effort required to seal the composite structure, i.e. its flat PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement, is significantly reduced compared to the prior art. On a complex sealing of the edge of the vehicle window and This means that the process steps required for this can be omitted.
The PDLC arrangement or polymer-dispersed liquid crystal arrangement therefore comprises the PDLC layer, which is characterized by the fact that liquid crystals in droplet form are integrated into a solid polymer or into a polymer matrix. The liquid crystals can be aligned by applying a voltage to the electrodes, so that the transmission behavior of light through the vehicle window into the vehicle interior is controlled. By changing the voltage applied to the PDLC layer, the light transmission or the scattering behavior of this layer or the vehicle window can be changed, so that the PDLC arrangement represents a shading device. The liquid crystals of the PDLC arrangement align in the same direction when an electrical voltage is applied, so that parts of the light pass through the vehicle window unscattered and the transmission state of the PDLC arrangement is present. If there is no electrical voltage, the liquid crystals of the PDLC layer are randomly oriented, which leads to their clouding, so that the transparency of the vehicle window is low or non-existent. This state represents the blocking state of the PDLC arrangement, in which the vehicle window acts like a lens due to the large diffuse scattered components of the light.
In an expedient embodiment of the vehicle window according to the invention, the PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement is connected to the outer window body via a laminating film and/or to the inner window body via a laminating film. The respective lamination film preferably has the same base area as the PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement and the outer pane body or the pane inner body. The lamination films can be used to connect the PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement to the pane body over the entire surface.
The film frame expediently extends to the edge of the composite structure, so that the edge of the film frame coincides with the peripheral edge of the composite structure.
In an advantageous embodiment of the vehicle window according to the invention, the film frame of the PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement is made of EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) and/or TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). These materials in particular ensure high moisture stability and good sealing, even against any diffusing plasticizers of the plastics of the composite structure of the PDLC, SPD or eInk layer of the PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement from the environment.
In a special embodiment of the vehicle window according to the invention, the outer window body and the inner window body are each curved, namely in the longitudinal direction of the window and/or in the transverse direction of the window. The radius of curvature defining the curvature can vary in the relevant direction and, for example, have a value between 1000 mm and 10,000 mm, in particular between 2000 mm and 5000 mm.
The lamination films for connecting the PDLC, SPD or eInk arrangement to the outer body of the pane and to the inner body of the pane are made, for example, of PVB (polyvinyl butyral), an epoxy, a silicone, polyethylene or another transparent plastic film, in particular polyethylene terephthalate (PET). , polycarbonate (PC), thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and / or cycloolefin copolymer (COC). The refractive index of the lamination film is preferably in the range of that of the outer body of the pane and the inner body of the pane and has, for example, a value of approximately 1.5.
A preferred embodiment of the vehicle window according to the invention is designed as a vehicle roof element. In this case, the vehicle window can be an adjustable cover element of a roof opening system or a fixed roof element, which is, for example, part of a panoramic roof and can be arranged rigidly or immovably relative to the vehicle bodyshell.
Further advantages and advantageous refinements of the subject matter of the invention can be found in the description, the drawing and the patent claims.

The composite structure of the
In the present case, the two
The composite structure described above with the
