Description
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of supersaturated aqueous ionic mineral solutions, preferably calcium carbonate, and therefrom the production of solid minerals, preferably solid calcium carbonate, eg amorphous or crystalline calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ), optionally deposited on supports to support mineral-coated or to produce carriers associated with mineral. In the embodiment of carriers associated with CaCO 3 which are silicates, eg sand, sandstone is produced. The supersaturated aqueous mineral solutions contain a water-soluble organic polymer for stabilization, for example a polyanionic polymer, for example polyaspartate or polycarboxylate, for example water-soluble polyacrylate.
The method according to the invention uses the polymer to produce the supersaturated mineral solution in the form of a polymer-induced liquid precursor phase (polymer induced liquid precursor, PILP) in order to form solid mineral or mineral mixtures therefrom in amorphous and/or crystalline form. The supersaturated mineral solution is preferably present in a large number of PILP droplets and forms a dispersion with other aqueous solutions or with water.
The method according to the invention has the advantage that it allows the production of large masses and high concentrations of the supersaturated mineral solution, ie on an industrial scale.
Jenewein et al., CrystEngComm 2273-2280 (2019) describe the continuous flow of an aqueous solution of Na 2 CO 3 and an aqueous solution of CaCO 3 and polyacrylate (2000 g /mol). As an alternative to continuous flow, an aqueous precursor solution was prepared from the polyacrylate, Na 2 CO 3 and CaCl 2 , which was added to the sand in batches. Above about 22 mM CaCl 2 , this precursor solution becomes unstable and CaCO 3 precipitated out in the form of calcite, regardless of the concentration of the polyacrylate or the Na 2 CO 3 .

The known methods have the disadvantage that only low concentrations of anions and cations, e.g. carbonate and calcium ions, can be used to produce the polymer-stabilized supersaturated mineral solution before the mineral or e.g. a calcium -polymer coacervate precipitates, and on the other hand, when using high concentrations of polymer, a composite material of polymer and amorphous mineral is produced from which the mineral cannot crystallize. Another disadvantage of the known methods is that the preparation of the supersaturated mineral solution takes a long time, so they do not ensure the stability of the supersaturated mineral solution in a dispersion until the end of the process.
The object of the invention is to specify an alternative method for producing supersaturated aqueous mineral solutions, e.g. of calcium carbonate, and to provide solid minerals or mineral mixtures produced therefrom, preferably in combination with at least one carrier. The method according to the invention should preferably produce the supersaturated mineral solution in a high concentration or in a large quantity and more preferably quickly.
The invention solves the problem with the features of the claims and in particular by means of a method for the production of an aqueous supersaturated mineral solution which is stabilized by containing water-soluble acidic polymer and which can be separated from a dispersion. The method is characterized in that controlled simultaneously and / or continuously aqueous solutions of (a) acidic polymer, (b) a cation source, (c) an anion source and (d) at least one protolyte are added to a first solution provided to to produce a dispersion in which the supersaturated mineral solution is in the form of PILP droplets in a dispersion medium, during which addition the pH of the dispersion is controlled, optionally kept constant. The pH of the dispersion is optionally measured continuously, e.g. by electrochemical measurement with a pH electrode, in particular with a pH combination measuring chain consisting of a measuring cell with a glass membrane and a silver-silver chloride half-cell, and by the controlled addition of at least hired a protolyte. Alternatively, the addition of the at least one protolyte required to adjust the pH for the mass flows and concentrations of the acidic polymer, the cation source and the anion source fed into the first solution can be predetermined and the pH can be adjusted by the predetermined required addition of the at least one protolyte.
The pH value is generally adjusted in a range around a predetermined pH value for the supersaturated mineral solution, which is the range of existence of the supersaturated mineral solution. In general, the pH value is controlled in the range between

Optionally, in addition to or instead of measuring the pH, the concentration of free divalent cations of the cation source in the dispersion can be determined and the addition of protolyte can be controlled depending on this concentration, in particular when the concentration of free cations of the cation source decreases, e.g Falling below a predetermined value for the concentration of free divalent cations, the addition of protolyte is increased.
By adding the aqueous solutions of (a) acidic polymer, (b) cation source, (c) anion source and (d) protolyte to the first solution, polymer-stabilized droplets of the supersaturated mineral solution form, which are stable in another aqueous solution, e.g. in the dispersion with the first solution or in water, for example for at least 30 minutes, preferably at least 2 hours, at least 10 hours or for at least 1 day after the end of the addition.
The process can be carried out as a batch process in which the aqueous solutions of (a) acidic polymer, (b) the cation source, (c) the anion source and (d) protolyte are added to mix in a mixing vessel into which the first Solution is submitted, and is added in this regulated or controlled Protolyt. The mixing vessel preferably has a powered mixer, eg a stirrer. Alternatively, the process can be carried out continuously by adding the solutions to a mixing container through which flow occurs and the supersaturated mineral solution, which is preferably in the form of PILP droplets or liquid-liquid phase-separated, is separated therefrom, preferably continuously. Preferably, a flow through Ter mixing container on a mixer, eg static and / or driven mixing elements.
More preferably, the supersaturated mineral solution is separated from the dispersion to produce an enriched dispersion. The PILP droplets have a higher density compared to the dispersion medium and can be separated continuously or after the addition of the aqueous solutions has been completed, for example by density separation, in particular by centrifugation. The supersaturated mineral solution is preferably separated when a predetermined pH value is reached, in particular a maximum of pH 10.85, and/or when the turbidity increases, e.g. determined as the transmission of light with a wavelength between 470 nm and 660 nm, preferably 660 nm via a length of 1 cm or 0.1 cm or 0.01 cm.
The supersaturated mineral solution obtainable with the process can be present as PILP droplets in the dispersion or enriched dispersion at at least 0.5% by weight, preferably at least 15% by weight or at least 20% by weight, e.g. up to 35% by weight. -% or up to 50% by weight. The dispersion in the dispersion medium preferably contains only water and the counterions of the aqueous solutions of (a) acidic polymer, (b) the cation source, (c) the anion source and (d) protolyte not contained in the supersaturated mineral solution.
Here, the mineral present in ionic form and hydrated as divalent cation and mineral anion is referred to as dissolved mineral or mineral solution. The supersaturated mineral solution is characterized by the fact that solid mineral can spontaneously precipitate or crystallize out of it, e.g. when the supersaturated mineral solution comes into contact with a carrier.
Optionally, an additional water-soluble magnesium salt may be continuously added to the first solution or dispersion to reduce or retard solid mineral precipitation.
The dispersion obtainable with the process, which can be an enriched dispersion, can optionally be fused into a homogeneous amorphous or crystalline mineral. For this purpose, the dispersion can optionally be treated with ultrasound, e.g. using an ultrasonic lance. The optionally ultrasonically treated dispersion is then applied to a carrier and stored, optionally dried, preferably at elevated temperature or under reduced pressure, optionally with further storage in air or in water, preferably air with a humidity of at least 80% RH, further optionally with heating, e.g. up to 400 °C. Alternatively, the dispersion or enriched dispersion can be pre-dried to obtain a gel and the gel fused under high pressure, e.g., at least 20 MPa, to form an amorphous material. The fusion can be done by adding at least one fusion agent, which can be concrete plasticizer, preferably selected from the group of melamine resins or lignosulfonates, or flow agents, e.g. polycarboxylate ether (PCE), methoxypolyethylene glycol (meth)acrylate-based PCE (MPEG-PCEs), naphthalene sulfonic acid -Formaldehyde polycondensates or melamine-formaldehyde-sulfite polycondensates. The at least one fusing agent can be added in the process before, during or after the addition, in particular to the first solution, to the dispersion or to the enriched dispersion.
Further optionally, the dispersion can be brought into contact with at least one carrier. The at least one carrier can be a plastic, or can comprise or consist of the mineral and/or can be particulate, preferably silicate, e.g. sand, comprise or consist of hydrophilic fibers or a mixture of at least two of these. The at least one carrier can in particular have or consist of a biomimetic or biological material, in particular framework material, e.g. made of bone, tooth or cartilage material, preferably acellularized. A supersaturated mineral solution separated from the dispersion and contacted with the at least one carrier is then dried, in particular in contact with air, with the PILP droplets merging during drying and solid mineral being formed and deposited on the carrier or crystallized on it, so that in this Embodiment, mineral-coated carriers or mineral-bonded carriers can be prepared.
Mikrorissen geeignet.Upon contacting the supersaturated mineral solution with a support having cavities or roughnesses such as microcracks or pores, the mineral solution penetrates the support and upon subsequent drying, the support is filled by the solid mineral. This makes the mineral solution produced by the process suitable for use in repairing beams with, for example, microcracks.

In 50 mL of a provided first solution of 1 g/L polyacrylate as acidic polymer in water at pH 10.65 (a) 0.1 mL/min of an aqueous solution of 10 g/L polyacrylate as acidic polymer, (b) 0 .1 mL/min of an aqueous solution of 0.5 M CaCl 2 as a cation source and (c) 0.1 mL/min of an aqueous solution of 0.75 M Na 2 CO 3 as an anion source, each from separate vessels continuously for 5, Added 5 hours. The pH of the dispersion was measured continuously and kept constant at pH 10.65 by controlled addition of (d) 0.5 M NaOH as protolyte in aqueous solution.
The PII,P droplets of the supersaturated mineral solution were altogether stable in the dispersion for about 3 hours after the end of the addition. Stability can be prolonged by simultaneously adding an aqueous solution of magnesium salt, eg 0.1 mL/min 0.025 M MgCl 2 .
The dispersion was centrifuged at 7000 x g for 20 min. After centrifugation, the supersaturated mineral solution was present as a gel-like precipitate at the bottom of the centrifuge tube. The supernatant was collected and the enriched dispersion, consisting of approximately 20% by weight PILP droplets in water, was homogenized by stirring.
