Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a hot-formed and press-hardened sheet steel component according to the preamble of claim 1 and a sheet steel component according to claim 10.
In a generic method, a hot-formed and press-hardened sheet steel component is produced as a tailored-welded blank from at least two blanks. The method features a hot-dip process in which the steel substrates of the two blanks are hot-dip coated with an AlSi hot-dip coating. This is followed by a blank cut, in which the coated steel substrates are cut to form the first blank or the second blank. In a downstream welding process, the two blanks are welded to form a composite blank, for example by laser welding. This is fed to a hot-forming process in which the composite blank is hot-formed and press-hardened to form the sheet steel component.
The following problem arises when laser welding the two hot-dip-coated blanks: A low-melting liquid aluminum phase forms at the welding point from the AlSi hot-dip coating, which mixes with the weld seam melt during the welding process. As a result, brittle intermetallic phases form in the weld seam structure, which lead to early component failure of the sheet steel component.
In order to avoid such an early component failure of the sheet steel component, the following measures are known in the prior art: On the one hand, the AlSi hot-dip coating can be removed locally at the joint before the welding process is carried out, for example in a laser ablation process that is complex and expensive in terms of production technology. However, removing the AlSi hot-dip coating means that there is no corrosion protection in some areas, which means that special corrosion protection measures may have to be taken. On the other hand, special alloying elements can be added in the form of an additional material. However, such an addition is complex and involves process instabilities.
The object of the invention is to provide a method for producing a hot-formed and press-hardened sheet steel component which, in comparison to the prior art, prevents early component failure of the sheet steel component produced in a simple manner in terms of process technology.
The object is achieved by the features of claim 1 or claim 10. Preferred developments of the invention are disclosed in the dependent claims.
The invention is based on a method in which a sheet steel component is formed as a tailored-welded blank from at least two blanks. The method has a hot-dip process in which the steel substrate is hot-dip refined at least a first blank with an AlSi hot-dip coating. In addition, the process includes blank cutting, in which the coated steel substrate is cut to form the respective blank. This is followed by a welding process in which the two blanks are welded together to form a composite blank. The still unhardened blank composite is subjected to a hot forming process. In common practice, this has a heat treatment step in which the composite circuit board is heated to above the material-specific austenitization temperature, and a forming step in which the composite circuit board is placed in a forming tool while hot and is hot-formed and press-hardened therein, with the formation of the sheet steel component .
According to the characterizing part of claim 1, the hot-dip process is followed by a preconditioning step. In the preconditioning step, a diffusion process takes place with heat treatment, in which aluminum diffuses from the AlSi hot-dip coating into the steel substrate and iron diffuses from the steel substrate into the AlSi hot-dip coating. In this way, at least one intermetallic phase is formed, which consists of an AISiFe alloy. The formation of this intermetallic phase reduces the proportion of pure, low-melting aluminum remaining in the AlSi hot-dip coating, which produces brittle intermetallic phases in the weld structure after the welding process.
In general, preconditioning of a hot-dip coated steel substrate after the hot-dip process is known. However, the preconditioning known from the prior art has nothing to do with the invention: In the prior art, the hot-dip coated steel substrate is preconditioned in order to reduce contamination of the transport rollers in the roller hearth furnace during the heat treatment in the hot forming process, due to a (without preconditioning) forming molten AlSi liquid phase. In addition, in the prior art, the formation of a highly heat-reflecting substrate surface due to the molten AlSi liquid phase during the heat treatment in the hot forming process is avoided by means of the preconditioning.
Aspects of the invention are highlighted again in detail below: With the preconditioning step according to the invention in the welding process, the mixing of pure aluminum from the conditioned hot-dip coating into the weld seam can be significantly reduced or homogenized, compared to a welding process with a coated blank blank that is carried out without a preconditioning step . The melting point of the intermetallic phase that forms in the preconditioning step is significantly higher than the melting point of pure aluminum due to the high iron content. The melting point of the intermetallic phase is of the same order of magnitude as the melting point of the steel substrate, so that essentially both the intermetallic phase and the steel substrate have largely the same welding properties.
Die Schmelztemperatur des Schmelztauchüberzugs liegt in gängiger Praxis in einer Größenordnung von 580°C bis 600°CIn a technical implementation, the process temperature can remain below the melting temperature of the hot-dip coating in the preconditioning step. The melting temperature of the hot-dip coating is in the order of 580°C to 600°C in common practice
With regard to use in series production, the respective steel substrate can be provided as a strip material that can be wound up on a coil. In this case, the preconditioning step can take place in a continuous process after the hot-dip process. As an alternative to this, the preconditioning step can also be carried out discontinuously with the aid of batch annealing. In this case, the hot-dip coated coil can be preconditioned using a batch or batch annealing process.
A first diffusion process can already take place during the hot-dip process, in which aluminum from the hot-dip bath diffuses into the steel substrate and at the same time iron diffuses from the steel substrate into the hot-dip coating that is being formed, which already produces an intermetallic phase of an AISiFe alloy. The layer thickness is therefore increased in the preconditioning step, during which the layer thickness of the intermetallic phase already present is increased to a layer thickness which is significantly greater than the layer thickness in the still unconditioned coating state.
All suitable hot-forming grades can be used as the steel substrate for the first and/or second blank, in particular 22MnB5. For example, the steel substrate of the first blank blank and the steel substrate of the second blank blank can be made of similar or dissimilar hot forming grades. In a first embodiment variant, the two steel substrates can form a hard-hard connection (approximately 22MnB5 with 22MnB5). As an alternative to this, a hard-soft connection can be produced in which one steel substrate has a lower carbon content or, in the hardened state, has lower strength than the other steel substrate. The sheet metal thicknesses of the two blanks can be dimensioned as desired. For example, the two sheet metal thicknesses can be identical or can vary from one another.
An exemplary embodiment is described below with reference to the accompanying figures.
