Description
The present invention relates to a method for recycling a polyurethane from a press cover for a press roll, in particular for a press roll of a shoe press for dewatering a fibrous web, in particular a paper, cardboard, tissue or cellulose web, or from a conveyor belt, in particular for a Machine for producing or treating a fibrous web, in particular a paper, board or tissue machine. The invention also relates to a press cover for a press roll, in particular for a press roll of a shoe press for dewatering a fibrous web, in particular a paper, cardboard, tissue or cellulose web, or conveyor belt, in particular for a machine for producing or treating a fibrous web, in particular paper -, cardboard or tissue machine, the press cover or the conveyor belt has features that favor such recycling, or enable the use of material from recycling.
Press rolls are used in a large number of presses and, for example, in the form of shoe rolls in shoe presses, which in turn are used in particular for dewatering fibrous webs, such as paper webs. Such shoe presses are constructed from a shoe roll and a backing roll with a press nip formed between them. Shoe rolls consist of a stationary, i. H. non-rotating pressing element, namely the shoe, and a flexible press jacket surrounding the shoe. Usually, the shoe is supported by a yoke that carries it and is pressed against the press jacket surrounding it by means of hydraulic pressing elements. An oil film is usually built up between the shoe and the press sleeve for lubrication. Due to the concave design of the shoe on its side opposite the backing roll, there is a comparatively long press nip, which is about 20 times longer than that of conventional presses consisting of two rotating rolls. During the operation of the shoe press, a fibrous web is guided through the press nip together with one or two press felt(s) or another conveyor belt, with the liquid emerging from the fibrous web due to the pressure exerted on the fibrous web in the press nip, which, in addition to water, contains dissolved and undissolved Compounds, such as fibers, fiber fragments, fillers and/or additives, is temporarily absorbed by the press felt and by depressions provided in the press jacket surface. After leaving the press nip, the liquid taken up by the press jacket is thrown off the press jacket before the press jacket re-enters the press nip. In addition, the water absorbed by the press felt is removed with suction elements after leaving the press nip. Due to the relatively long press nip due to the concave design of the shoe, much better dewatering of the fibrous web is achieved with such a shoe press compared to a press consisting of two rotating rollers, so that the subsequent thermal drying can be correspondingly shorter. In this way, a particularly gentle and energy-efficient dewatering of the fibrous web is achieved.
Due to the high loads from water, fillers and/or additives as well as the mechanical stress caused by the press impulse and the production speed, press sleeves and conveyor belts have a limited service life. After use, the worn or dirty press sleeves or conveyor belts are only disposed of according to the state of the art and, depending on the region, stored in a landfill or incinerated.

In particular, the press sleeves in the shoe press are regularly treated with biocides and chemical cleaning agents, so a rubber content is not possible.
The object of the invention is to invent a method for material recycling that is suitable for press sleeves or conveyor belts and their production waste, since these have a limited useful life when used as intended, and material recycling offers economic and ecological advantages.
The invention also has the object of inventing a use in press jackets or in conveyor belts for the polyurethane obtained for recycling, and to invent the technical features necessary for the recycling.
The object is achieved according to the invention by an embodiment corresponding to the independent claim. Further advantageous embodiments of the present invention can be found in the dependent claims.
According to the invention, the object is achieved by a method for material utilization of a polyurethane from a press cover or a press roll, in particular from a press cover in a shoe press for dewatering a fibrous web, in particular a paper, cardboard, tissue or cellulose web, or from a Conveyor belt, in particular for a machine for producing or treating a fibrous web, in particular a paper, cardboard or tissue machine, the press cover or the conveyor belt comprising a supporting fabric and at least one layer containing crosslinked polyurethane, the polyurethane being heated to a temperature greater than 150° C. and is heated and thus melted at a pressure greater than or equal to 10 barA.
In a further development of the inventive idea, it is proposed that in a method according to one of the claims of the invention, non-meltable parts of the polyurethane, in particular parts of the supporting fabric and/or non-meltable dirt or layers of the press jacket, are removed from the molten polyurethane, in particular by sieving, raking, Decant or skim.
It is irrelevant whether the process for material recycling of the polyurethane is carried out continuously or in closed process steps, the so-called batch process. If the process is continuous, it can also be advantageous to continuously remove the non-meltable fractions and thus divide the molten polyurethane into different grades.
Also advantageous is a method according to one claim of the invention, in which thermally non-meltable parts, in particular parts of the supporting fabric and non-meltable dirt, are mechanically separated from the thermoplastic polyurethane layer even before the melting process, in particular by machining removal of the thermoplastic polyurethane layer intended for use or one part of the shift.
Also advantageous is a method according to one of the claims of the invention, in which a bead-like granulate is created from the molten polyurethane, suitable for use in further method steps, in particular in the injection molding or extrusion method or by admixture and for the production of new products, in particular for the production of a conveyor belt. a press cover, or a press roll, in particular a press cover in a shoe press for dewatering a fibrous web, in particular in a machine for paper, cardboard, tissue or pulp production.
Also advantageous is a method according to one of the claims of the invention, in which the polyurethane is melted in a closed conveying device, in particular in a screw press and preferably with the exclusion of oxygen.
Since the melting takes place at an elevated temperature of greater than 150° C., preferably greater than 180° C. and in particular greater than 220° C., oxygen contained in the air can lead to pyrolysis or a combustion process in the thermoplastic polyurethane.
Also advantageous is a method according to one claim of the invention, wherein the polyurethane is melted in a conveyor device, wherein the conveyor device can contain a conveyor area, a compression area, an area for homogenization, a heating area and/or a device for degassing.
The conveying device can be selected in such a way that the working pressure of more than 10 barA and the melting temperature of the thermoplastic polyurethane of more than 150° C. can be achieved. A device for degassing can ensure that oxygen can be removed, in particular by means of a connected vacuum. In addition, water vapor that arises from the moisture content of the comminuted polyurethane or from hygroscopically bound water can also be removed by the degassing device.
In a further development of the inventive concept, the use of a polyurethane is proposed, the polyurethane being produced from material recycling according to a method from one of the preceding claims, the polyurethane being admixed for the production of a press jacket or conveyor belt, in particular for use in a paper -, board, or tissue machine, is used.
Where in formula (I) x is an integer between 2 and 14, preferably between 2 and 6.
Also advantageous is a press cover according to one of the claims of the invention, in which the thermoplastic properties of the polyurethane used are enhanced by largely dispensing with amine crosslinkers, and the proportion of these amine crosslinkers in the crosslinker is at most 40% by weight, preferably less than 20 % is, in particular less than 10%.
