Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention
The method according to the invention for producing an electrical conductor offers the advantage that an electrical conductor can be formed in which graphene and / or carbon nanotubes are present with a large spatial extent. As a result of the method according to the invention, the electrical conductor can in particular have a high electrical conductivity. To achieve these advantages, the method of manufacturing an electrical conductor includes the following steps. A conductor material comprising carbon and in the form of a strand is provided, the conductor material in particular comprising a multiplicity of graphene platelets which are formed from graphene monolayers and / or graphene multilayers. As an alternative or in addition to this, the conductor material can comprise carbon nanotubes. The carbon nanotubes can be single-walled carbon nanotubes and / or multi-layered (multiwalled carbon nanotubes). The conductor material is pressed with a pressing device in order to apply pressure to the conductor material in a pressing direction, the pressing direction being directed transversely, in particular perpendicular, to a longitudinal direction of the conductor material, and the conductor material being pressed in sections, in particular with regard to its longitudinal extent. During pressing, an electrical current is applied which flows through the conductor material along the pressing direction, the current flow causing the conductor material to be heated and at least some of the graphene monolayers and / or graphene multilayers and / or carbon nanotubes being pressed and heated be connected to each other, especially at the atomic level. The conductor material is designed in particular as a film. The graphene monolayers and / or graphene multilayers and / or carbon nanotubes are in this case aligned in particular predominantly parallel to the closest surface of the conductor material before the pressing and heating. The method leads in particular to the fact that the graphene monolayers and / or monolayers of the graphene multilayers and / or carbon nanotubes combine with one another atomically to form larger monolayers and / or nanotubes, whereby in the pressing direction, in particular in overlapping areas between several graphene monolayers and / or graphene multilayers and / or carbon nanotubes increases the packing density. As a result, in particular the electrical conductivity is increased and increased structural stability, in particular in the longitudinal extension of the electrical conductor resulting therefrom, is achieved.
Die Unteransprüche zeigen bevorzugte Weiterbildungen der Erfindung. The subclaims show preferred developments of the invention.
The conductor material can advantageously have atomically distributed catalysts, in particular made of copper and / or nickel, by means of which a connection of the graphene monolayers and / or graphene multilayers and / or carbon nanotubes is catalyzed. As a result, the connection between the graphene monolayers and / or graphene multilayers and / or carbon nanotubes can be established more reliably, in particular faster, and better. In particular, milder process conditions can thereby be provided.
Preferably, electrically conductive elements can be arranged between the pressing device and the respective areas of the material surface of the conductor material to be pressed, the current being applied between the electrically conductive elements in order to flow through the conductor material. As a result, the current can be applied particularly easily and reliably through the conductor material in the pressing direction.
It is particularly advantageous if the pressing device has a first pressing element and a second pressing element, between which the pressing of the conductor material takes place, with at least the surfaces of the pressing elements in contact with the conductor material being designed to be electrically conductive and the current being applied between the pressing elements so that the current flows through the conductor material flows. In particular, the current can flow between the pressing elements and through the electrically conductive elements through the conductor material. As a result, the pressing process and the application of the electrical current can be coordinated with one another in a particularly advantageous manner, since the electrical contact is made here, for example, through the contact with the pressing device.
The first pressing element and / or the second pressing element can preferably be a flat hydraulic press, with which the conductor material is pressed and heated in the longitudinal direction by moving the pressing elements linearly towards one another, in particular semicontinuously, with in particular pressed sections of the conductor material partially overlapping. This allows advantageously to produce electrical conductors from graphene, which contain particularly long graphene monolayers and / or carbon nanotubes and thus have a high electrical conductivity.
Advantageously, the first pressing element and / or the second pressing element can form a rolling device which comprises rollers and with which the conductor material is pressed and heated in a roller gap, in particular between two rollers of the rolling device, by an, in particular, continuous, rolling process. As a result, the method for producing the electrical conductor can be carried out particularly quickly and easily. In addition, particularly homogeneous electrical conductors can be produced in this way.
It is particularly advantageous if the pressing device, in particular the pressing elements, is / are heated, the conductor material being heated by heat transfer from the pressing device, in particular from the pressing elements, and by the application of the current. As a result, the conductor material can advantageously be heated particularly precisely. In particular, a higher temperature of the conductor material can thereby be achieved during the pressing.
The conductor material can advantageously be exposed to a vacuum, in particular an absolute pressure equal to or less than 0.1 mbar, and / or an inert atmosphere, in particular made of a noble gas such as helium and / or argon, in a pretreatment step and / or during the pressing. In this way, interfering gas molecules, which can be arranged in and / or between the graphene monolayers and / or graphene multilayers and / or carbon nanotubes, can advantageously be removed before and / or during the pressing process. As a result, an electrical conductor with a particularly high electrical conductivity and with a particularly high structural stability can be produced.
It is particularly advantageous if, during the pressing, the conductor material is heated in sections to equal to or greater than 300 ° C., in particular 2900 ° C. to 3100 ° C., and is exposed to a pressure of at least 400 MPa. This enables a particularly reliable rearrangement, in particular atomic rearrangement, of laterally adjacent graphene monolayers in graphene multilayers and / or graphene monolayers and / or carbon nanotubes to form much larger graphene monolayers, which particularly increases the electrical conductivity of the resulting electrical conductor can be high.
The section-wise pressing and / or heating of the conductor material can preferably be carried out for 0.5-2.0 seconds, more preferably 0.5-1.0 seconds. As a result, an electrical conductor with a particularly high electrical conductivity can be produced at the same time and the method for producing the same can be carried out particularly quickly and efficiently.
A voltage of 10-100 V can advantageously be applied to generate the current. As a result, optimal conditions can be created for the rearrangement of the graphene monolayers and / or the graphene monolayers in graphene multilayers into much larger graphene monolayers and / or the carbon nanotubes into much longer nanotubes, whereby a particularly good electrical conductor is produced can.
The connected graphene monolayers thus produced can preferably have a length in the longitudinal direction of 1-20 cm, preferably 3-10 cm, particularly preferably 5-10 cm. As a result, the electrical conductor can be used in a particularly variable manner instead of conventional electrical conductors, for example in electrical machines.
The present invention also relates to a device for producing an electrical conductor from a conductor material comprising carbon, the conductor material in particular comprising a multiplicity of graphene platelets which are formed from graphene monolayers and / or graphene multilayers. As an alternative or in addition to this, the conductor material can comprise carbon nanotubes. The carbon nanotubes can be single-layer and / or multi-layer. The device has a pressing device which is designed to apply pressure to the conductor material in a pressing direction, the pressing direction being directed transversely, in particular perpendicular, to a direction of longitudinal extent of the conductor material. The device also has a current source which is designed to apply a current which flows through the conductor material along the pressing direction. The current flow causes the conductor material to be heated, with the graphene monolayers and / or graphene multilayers being connected to one another, in particular at the atomic level, by pressing and heating. Here, the pressing device has, in particular, a first rotating roller and a second rotating roller, between which there is, in particular continuous, rolling of the conductor material, at least the surfaces of the rollers in contact with the conductor material being designed to be electrically conductive and the current being applied between the rollers, to flow through the conductor material. The device for producing the electrical conductor has the advantages that the electrical conductors can be produced quickly, efficiently and with a particularly high electrical conductivity. In addition, electrical conductors based on graphene can be produced, which have a particularly long length and, in particular, high structural stability.
