Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a semi-finished product in a metal / plastic composite with increased heat transfer, the hybrid component produced therewith, and its use, the layer thickness of the plastic layer being reduced at least in areas during and / or after the materially bonded application to the metal sheet by pressure-induced, plastic deformation will.
Metal-plastic hybrid materials, i.e. also semi-finished products in a metal / plastic composite, have a lower heat transfer compared to monolithic metal due to the low thermal conductivity of the plastic layer. The plastic layer is required for many applications, however, in order to ensure a cohesive bond, for example with additionally attached plastic.
An improved heat transfer must be achieved in particular with cooling and / or heating systems in order to ensure the transport of heat.

The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a semi-finished product in a metal / plastic composite which has both material-to-material, in particular adhesive-free connections between the metal-plastic composite and additionally attached plastic, as well as the highest possible heat transmission of the semifinished product, i.e. of the product of the method according to the invention, as well as the highest possible heat transfer of the further processed workpiece. In this case, despite subsequent processes, which can also include a change in the plastic layer of the metal / plastic composite, a good material bond is to be achieved between the semifinished product produced according to the invention and additionally attached plastic. Furthermore, an improvement in the heat transfer should be achieved through as few and simple process steps as possible; in particular, the steps should be carried out with existing, commonly used tools.
This object is achieved by a method for producing a semifinished product and by a semifinished product with increased heat transfer with the features of
According to the invention it is provided in one embodiment that in a method for the production of a semi-finished product in a metal / plastic composite with increased heat transfer, which has at least one plate-shaped or strip-shaped metal sheet and at least one, at least regionally, cohesively applied plastic layer on the metal sheet, the layer thickness of the plastic layer during and / or after the materially bonded application to the metal sheet, it is reduced at least in certain areas by pressure-induced plastic deformation.
The heat transfer from one fluid through the semi-finished product to another fluid is referred to as heat transfer. It comprises the heat transfer from a first fluid to the surface of the semifinished product, the heat conduction through the semifinished product and the heat transfer from the surface of the semifinished product to the second fluid.
After reducing the layer thickness of the plastic layer through pressure-induced plastic deformation, the present invention provides a semifinished product (hereinafter also referred to as a second semifinished product) which has a heat transfer rate that, in comparison to the heat transfer rate of the semifinished product (hereinafter also referred to as a first semifinished product) ) before reducing the layer thickness of the plastic layer is increased.
The heat flow Q from one fluid into a second fluid through an area A of the semifinished product is a measure of the heat transfer. ΔT denotes the temperature difference between the two fluids adjoining the semi-finished product and k the heat transfer coefficient of the semi-finished product.

According to the invention, the heat transfer coefficient k and thus the heat flow Q after the reduction in the layer thickness of the plastic layer is increased by pressure-induced, plastic deformation compared to the heat flow Q of the semi-finished product before the reduction in the layer thickness of the plastic layer.
According to the invention, the thickness of the plastic layer is determined by microscopic examination of cross sections with a light microscope, in particular as described in DIN ISO EN 1463. Essential for the determination is the measurement in an area of interest at at least 3, at least 4, at least 5, preferably at least 6, 7, particularly preferably 8, at least 9 or 10 measuring points evenly distributed in this area, in order to enable a statistical evaluation of the mean To enable layer thickness. For the purposes of the invention, the term layer thickness therefore always relates to an average layer thickness, which is determined as described above.
The first semi-finished product is the control (reference, reference) to which changes in the layer thickness of the plastic layer, the heat flow or the heat transfer refer.
If the layer thickness of the plastic layer is reduced at least in certain areas by pressure-induced, plastic deformation during the materially bonded application of the plastic layer to the metal sheet, the thickness of the plastic layer before application to the metal sheet is used as a control.
In the case of pressure-induced plastic deformation, according to the invention, pressure is exerted on the plastic and / or the metal sheet at least in some areas, i.e. from the plastic side or the metal side, so that the plastic layer does not return 100% to its original shape, but instead an irreversible deformation takes place leads to an at least regional reduction in the thickness of the plastic layer.

In one embodiment of the present invention, a plastic layer is first applied to a metal sheet. In an alternative, the pressure-induced, plastic deformation of the plastic layer takes place for at least regionally reducing the layer thickness of the plastic layer during the materially bonded application of the plastic layer to the metal sheet.
In an alternative, the plastic layer is applied to the metal sheet as a film. Such a film is produced by extrusion (slot die), casting or calendering or can also be obtained by cutting open tubular film in the longitudinal direction. In this case, the thickness of the plastic layer before it is applied to the metal sheet, i.e. before the film comes into contact with the metal sheet, serves as a control.
In other alternatives, when the plastic layer is applied by extrusion, spraying, etc., a semi-finished product produced using the same method is used as a control, but without an additional step of pressure application according to the invention.
The semifinished product to be used according to the invention has, at least in the area of the plastic layer, a surface that improves the adhesion of the plastic layer. In order to obtain such a surface, the metal sheet can be subjected to an appropriate surface treatment.
A modified surface within the meaning of the invention is the result of a surface treatment. The surface treatment can be a plasma treatment, plasma coating, corona treatment or the application of a layer. The application of a layer can be carried out with any method known to the person skilled in the art and suitable for the layer and for the surface of the metal sheet, preferably by means of a method selected from the group comprising or consisting of gas phase deposition, spraying, painting, dip painting, hot-dip coating, slot nozzle coating, knife coating , Dip coating, spray coating, roller coating, electroplating, thermal spraying, coil coating, dip coating and powder coating, preferably coil coating, dip or drop coating processes, particularly preferably coil coating processes, for example by means of an application using rollers as Coater rolls and / or as squeeze rolls.
Due to the above-mentioned surface treatment or application of a layer, the modified surface, that is to say the interface of the metal sheet or contact surface, is a surface that improves the adhesion of the plastic layer. The surface of the metal sheet is modified in such a way that it ensures better adhesion of the plastic layer compared to a surface without this modification.
In an alternative, the modified surface is a cleaned surface. The cleaning is carried out using a method known to the person skilled in the art.
In a further alternative, the modified surface can be detected as an interface (contact surface) of the metal component, which can also be designed as a boundary layer. In this alternative, the modified surface is not a metal surface or phase which is identical in all properties to that of the metal component. Rather, there is a detectable interface on the metal component which can be assigned to the metal component and which, due to a modification carried out, has different properties than an untreated sheet metal surface. In this alternative, cleaning, i.e. the removal of contaminants, does not correspond to an improvement of the surface, since the cleaning does not result in any modification of the interface and therefore there is also no detectable, modified surface.
In one embodiment, a layer improving the adhesion of the plastic layer is applied to the metal sheet, directly or to a surface modified as described above. For this purpose, the metal sheet is preferably brought into contact with an aqueous conversion composition which contains zinc, manganese and phosphorus pentoxide, at least in a contact area with the plastic layer.
The application of the aqueous conversion composition can be carried out using methods known to the person skilled in the art, preferably using a method selected from the group comprising or consisting of spraying, slot nozzle coating, knife coating, dip coating, spray coating, roller coating and coil coating. The liquid film thus produced is then dried up so that a layer is formed.
In an alternative, in a method as described above, a wet chemical conversion composition for all common metal substrates is applied in a thin, adhesion-promoting conversion coating. In an alternative, the metal sheet is brought into contact with an aqueous conversion composition which contains: 0.5 to 20 g / L zinc, 0.01 to 10 g / L manganese, 0.01 to 10 g / L aluminum, 0, 01 to 1 g / L chromium (III), 0.01 to 5 g / L iron (II), 0.01 to 5 g / L iron (III) and / or 0.01 to 5 g / L magnesium, 0 or 0.01 to 5 g / L of the total of nickel and / or cobalt, 0 or 0.01 to 5 g / L of the total of molybdenum, tantalum, vanadium and / or tungsten, 2 to 100 g / L P2O5, the 2.68 to 133.8 g / L PO4, 0.1 to 10 g / L polyacrylic acid, but not more than 25% of the P2O5 content of the composition in g / L, and 0 or 0.01 to 3 g / L Silane, but not more than 25% of the P2O5 content of the composition in g / L.
In a further alternative, the conversion composition is chromium-free, the chromium concentration is therefore below the detection limit or is so low that it meets the standards in the field of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) that apply in steel production and / or the coating of sheet metal. The conversion coating processes can alternatively take place without an activation step with a colloidal titanium phosphate or with a surface conditioner based on phosphate particles. The aqueous conversion composition can preferably also contain 0.001 to 20 g / L or 0.2 to 10 g / L of at least one further water-soluble and / or water-dispersible, organic polymer / copolymer in addition to polyacrylic acid. In a further alternative, the resulting conversion layer is preferably completely X-ray amorphous or X-ray amorphous with low crystalline proportions. The conversion coating can be largely or entirely amorphous in many design variants and show neither particles nor the finest cavities to be seen with the naked eye.
In a further embodiment of the invention, both sides of the metal sheet have at least areas with a plastic layer. At least in these areas, the surface of the metal sheet has a surface that improves the adhesion of the plastic layer.
An advantageous embodiment of the semifinished product according to the invention is characterized in that the plastic layer does not cover the entire surface of the side of the metal sheet on which it is applied, but rather partially, i.e. in regions or at least in an area that is smaller than the surface of one side of the metal sheet, covered. This saves material costs and contributes to optimized weight savings.
A further advantageous embodiment of the semifinished product according to the invention consists in that a thermoplastic, thermosetting or elastomeric plastic layer is present on each side of the metal sheet.
A further embodiment relates to a metal sheet which has a plastic layer over its entire surface on one or both sides, as described above. As an alternative, individual areas as well as sides are coated with different plastics.
One embodiment of the invention relates to a method in which the metal sheet has a structured surface, at least in some areas, on the side facing the plastic layer before the plastic layer is applied. A structured surface is a surface which - apart from and independently of the roughness of the surface - is not flat, but rather has raised and / or recessed structures. The plane of the structured surface or the plane of the areas with a structured surface are therefore not parallel to a reference center plane in all areas. A reference median plane is the theoretical plane that is defined on a median plane of the object to be measured.
If the metal sheet has a structured surface at least in some areas on the side facing the plastic layer before the plastic layer is applied, the thickness of the plastic layer is determined in the area of the raised and / or recessed structures, ie in the area of the plastic layer that is arranged above the respective structure . The structure of the surface is over a structured roller is generated. This results in a local reduction in the sheet thickness in the recessed structures. The patterns can be freely selected. When the plastic layer is applied according to the invention and pressure is exerted on the plastic layer, on the one hand a flat surface of the plastic layer is produced and on the other hand the plastic is pressed into the recessed structures. In the area of the raised structures, the layer thickness of the plastic layer is therefore less than in the area of the recessed structures, so that increased heat transfer is ensured. In addition, this creates an enlarged contact area between the sheet metal and the plastic layer, which additively increases the heat transfer.
In a further embodiment of the invention, a structured roller is used for pressure-induced, plastic deformation of the plastic layer, with which the surface of the first semifinished product is structured at least in some areas so that raised and / or recessed structures subsequently remain. The patterns are freely selectable. In other words, the at least regionally structured surface of the plastic layer has the same properties described above as a structured surface of the sheet metal. The roller produces deepened structures in which the plastic layer has a smaller layer thickness, at least locally, and thereby ensures increased heat transfer. The structure also increases the surface area of the plastic layer, so that an additional increase in heat transfer is generated here.
To determine the average layer thickness as described above, in the case of structured surfaces, however, only measurement points within respectively raised or respectively deepened structures are taken into account. I. E. a mean value is not formed from measuring points from recessed structures and raised structures.
- i) Bereitstellen eines ersten, tiefziehfähigen, streckziehfähigen, drückwalzbaren, platinen- oder bandförmigen Halbzeugs, das mindestens ein platinen- oder bandförmiges Metallblech und mindestens eine, mindestens bereichsweise auf dem Metallblech stoffschlüssig aufgebrachte Kunststoffschicht aufweist;
- ii) Applikation von Druck auf mindestens eine Seite des ersten Halbzeugs, mindestens im Bereich der mindestens bereichsweise auf dem Metallblech stoffschlüssig aufgebrachten Kunststoffschicht zur mindestens bereichsweise plastischen Verformung dieser Kunststoffschicht;
- i) providing a first, deep-drawable, stretch-drawable, pressure-rollable, blank or strip-shaped semifinished product, which has at least one blank or strip-shaped metal sheet and at least one plastic layer applied cohesively to the metal sheet at least in some areas;
- ii) application of pressure to at least one side of the first semifinished product, at least in the area of the plastic layer applied in a cohesive manner to the metal sheet at least in some areas, for at least some areas of plastic deformation of this plastic layer;
- iii) Reduction through plastic deformation of the layer thickness of the plastic layer as a result of the applied pressure from step ii) and thus production of a second semifinished product with increased heat transfer compared to the first semifinished product.
Both sheet metal and plastic or plastic layer are described above, which are provided or are present in the metal / plastic composite, as hybrid semifinished products.
For the purposes of the invention, deep-drawable, stretch-drawable, pressure-rollable, as well as the KTL-capable or KTL-coatable mentioned later, means that these processes (i.e. deep-drawing, stretch-drawing, pressure-rolling and KTL-coating) can be carried out without damaging the hybrid semi-finished product, in particular without delamination of the plastic layer from the metal sheet. In the context of the invention, “without delamination” means that macroscopically, that is to say without optical aids for enlargement such as B. magnifying glass, in particular microscope, therefore no damage and / or separation of the plastic layer from the metal sheet occurs or can be determined with the naked eye due to the method according to the invention.
Im Einzelnen erfolgt die Prüfung mit folgenden Parametern: Stempel: 70 × 70 mm; Ziehspalt: 1,93/2,43* mm; Eckenradius: R10 mm, Ziehradius: R5/R6* mm; Ziehfolie: SPV 6065E5 HP und Beölung RP4107S 1,5 g/m2.For the assessment of the deep-drawability of the semifinished product, the method of producing square cups (square specimens) is used in the context of the invention. A semi-finished product to be used according to the invention fulfills the requirements if no macroscopic failure points (delamination) can be seen in the area of the coating on the square samples. In detail, the test is carried out with the following parameters: punch: 70 × 70 mm; Drawing gap: 1.93 / 2.43 * mm; Corner radius: R10 mm, drawing radius: R5 / R6 * mm; Draw film: SPV 6065E5 HP and oiling RP4107S 1.5 g / m 2 .
The thermoplastic, thermosetting or elastomeric plastic layer flows with the metal sheet during deep-drawing and / or stretch-drawing of the semifinished product to be used according to the invention and does not lose its adhesion in the process.
As an alternative, roll profiling can also be carried out analogously to spinning rollers.
The starting material, i.e. the semi-finished product in the metal / plastic composite, is positioned in the tool by deep drawing, stretch drawing, pressure rolling and / or roll profiling in such a way that the plastic layer is arranged in direct contact with the respective tool or, alternatively, so that the plastic layer is on the opposite side Side of the sheet metal is arranged, therefore outside or inside with respect to the component to be produced or produced by the forming.
The metal sheet used according to the invention can be produced by methods known to the person skilled in the art. In particular, a hot strip or a cold strip, more preferably as a coil or as a blank, can be used as the metal sheet.
One embodiment also relates to a method in which the first and the second semifinished product can be KTL-coatable or coated.
The hybrid component produced according to the invention can also be KTL-coatable or coated. For the assessment of the KTL coatability of the hybrid semifinished product, the temperature resistance of the semifinished product is checked, in particular macroscopically, for delamination within the meaning of the invention.
The hybrid semifinished product to be used according to the invention is temperature-stable in the range from -20 ° C, preferably from -30 ° C, particularly preferably from -40 ° C up to a maximum of 200 ° C, preferably 230 ° C, particularly preferably up to 260 ° C. Even after a KTL coating, which is applied to the metal surface, but not to the surface of the plastic layer, macroscopically no delamination can be detected.
In a further embodiment, the mean layer thickness of the plastic layer is reduced during and / or after the cohesive application to the metal sheet by pressure-induced, plastic deformation using at least one method selected from the group containing or consisting of: calendering, structure rolling, deep drawing, pressure rolling, hybridization and roll profiling.
In an alternative, calendering is used when the plastic layer, in particular as a film, is laminated onto the sheet metal and, at the same time and / or in subsequent steps, its thickness is reduced by applying pressure via a calender. In one alternative, changing the roll gap results in a reduction in the average layer thickness of the plastic layer.
In one alternative, the mean layer thickness of the plastic layer is reduced at least in certain areas by hybridization, preferably by back-molding the plastic layer with a further plastic. By increasing the contact pressure of the tool for back injection molding and / or by pressing rigid tool surfaces against the plastic layer, according to the invention the mean layer thickness thereof is reduced in the corresponding area on which pressure is exerted.
One embodiment relates to a method in which the mean layer thickness of the plastic layer of the second semifinished product is at least partially reduced by at least 5%, preferably at least 10%, 15%, 20%, particularly preferably at least 25%, 30%, 35%, in particular at least 40%, 45%, 50% in relation to the mean layer thickness of the plastic layer of the first semifinished product. In one alternative, the reduction is a maximum of 80%, 90%, in a further alternative, a maximum of 100%. This can be achieved by completely removing the plastic layer or by not even laminating the plastic layer onto defined areas of the sheet metal.
When the method according to the invention is carried out, the temperature of the first semifinished product is increased immediately before or during the pressure-induced, plastic deformation. This supports the pressure-induced plastic deformation or reduction in the mean layer thickness of the plastic layer.
In a further embodiment, the plastic layer of the first and the second semifinished product is designed as a coupling layer for the cohesive, adhesive-free connection of at least one structural body made or to be made of plastic. This enables a structural body to be attached to the three-dimensionally shaped second semi-finished product. For the purposes of the invention, has a three-dimensionally shaped second semi-finished product a shape with extension in all 3 spatial directions, whereby it differs from the starting material, here the semi-finished product, in its shape and not only in its dimensions. In other words, cutting, shortening, lengthening or the like merely represents a change or reshaping in one or two dimensions, along the x and / or y axis of a three-dimensional coordinate system. A three-dimensional reshaping within the meaning of the invention is preferred a change in the z-direction, e.g. B. a bend or curvature of the starting material, the semi-finished product. A three-dimensional deformation of the first semifinished product is achieved in the sense of the invention by deep drawing or pressure rolling or roll profiling, but can also be achieved in an alternative by roll profiling.
The structural bodies can be formed over the entire height of the second semifinished product or have a precisely defined height. Furthermore, they can only be attached in certain, defined sectors of the inner and / or outer surface of the second semifinished product, or over the entire inner and / or outer circumference.
When a structural body is attached, the plastic layer fulfills the function of reliably bonding with a large number of other plastics without applying adhesive. The common plastics processes are preferably used for this purpose. In the injection molding process or thermal pressing, for example, the energy of the plastic melt is used to activate the surface of the coupling layer and to establish the material bond. After the melt has cooled down, there is a perfect bond between the plastic layer and the molded plastic as a structural body. The injection-molded plastic can not only be a thermoplastic plastic, but also a thermosetting plastic and / or a plastic from the field of elastomers. In an alternative, any of the plastics described above as a plastic layer can be used as the structural body; any combinations are therefore possible. It is also possible to additionally activate the plastic layer by plasma or corona pretreatment prior to the injection molding process in order to expand the range of plastics that can be used. In an alternative, the same plastic is used for the plastic layer and the structural body.
The invention therefore also relates to a method in which a structural body made of plastic is attached to the coupling layer in a materially bonded manner in the injection molding process or in thermal pressing without applying adhesive. As a result, in one alternative, the mean thickness of the plastic layer is reduced as described above.
