Description
The present invention relates to a tarpaulin roof for a container and a system comprising a tarpaulin roof and a container.
Freight traffic, be it by road, rail or sea, is increasing from year to year due to the continuing economic growth. Due to advancing globalization, goods have to be transported over increasingly longer transport routes. Empty trips should be avoided as far as possible because of the associated environmental pollution.
One of the most frequently transported main goods is so-called bulk cargo. Bulk material is primarily defined by its grain size, its density and the distribution of the grains. Various means of transport with different load carriers are available for the transport of bulk goods. For example, coarse-grained bulk goods are usually transported on open truck loaders in road traffic. Fine-grained, dusty bulk goods, on the other hand, are mainly transported in closed silo vehicles, silo containers or silo wagons, which prevent the bulk goods from being released into the environment during transport. The filling takes place here from above via a filling pipe or a filling nozzle. This filling process is also commonly referred to as filling a silo. Depending on the grain size of the bulk material, a correspondingly suitable charge carrier is selected.
In the case of containers, a basic distinction is made between covered containers and covered containers, so-called open-top containers (OT containers). In the case of covered containers, a solid cover prevents cargo from being released during the loading process or during transport. The fixed cover can be a lid, but also a silo container. The discharge can take place by means of gravity, but also with the use of compressed air. In contrast, covered containers, such as an OT container, are provided with a tarpaulin to prevent the cargo from being released as a result of wind turbulence during transport. The tarpaulin is usually completely opened for the purpose of loading, so that a charger, such as an excavator or wheel loader, can bring the bulk goods into the hold of the container. In this context, one speaks of open loading.
An object of the present invention is to combine the advantages of the covered cargo spaces with those of the covered cargo spaces in order to be able to use any advantages of both systems so that, for example, empty trips can be avoided.
This object is achieved by the subject matter of

The tarpaulin roof or tarpaulin cover described below, hereinafter referred to as tarpaulin roof, is suitable for any type of container. The prerequisite is that the containers are open on their upper side and have four side walls made of a rigid material. Such containers are primarily intended for the transport of bulk goods. In the context of the invention, however, it is also entirely conceivable that one of the side walls (or also several side walls) of the container for which the tarpaulin roof according to the invention is designed can be opened, e.g. by pivoting about a horizontal or vertical axis. The tarpaulin roof according to the invention is preferably intended for an OT container, a roll-off container or a tipper. Such containers are preferably made of corrugated steel, of aluminum with stiffening profiles or of plywood with a glass fiber reinforced plastic coating. The most common container size is 20 'or 40' ("feet"), although containers with longer dimensions, such as 45 ', are also available.
The tarpaulin roof according to the invention is preferably formed from a material from which conventional truck tarpaulins are made. The tarpaulin roof according to the invention is particularly preferably produced from a glass fabric with a PTFE coating on one side. The PTFE coating preferably has a weight per unit area of 600 g / m 2 . Such a tarpaulin roof is less rigid than a truck tarpaulin, is fire-retardant and fire-resistant. According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the tarpaulin roof is formed at least partially from a material that is fire-retardant and / or fire-resistant and / or anti-static.
