Description
The invention relates to a method for arranging measurement signal cables of a differential voltage measurement system in an area penetrated by a magnetic field of a medical imaging system. The invention also relates to a measurement signal cable arrangement. The invention also relates to a voltage measurement system with such a measurement signal cable arrangement. The invention also relates to a differential voltage measuring system. The invention also relates to a medical imaging system.
Differential voltage measuring systems for measuring bioelectrical signals are used, for example, in medicine to measure electrocardiograms (EKG), electroencephalograms (EEG) or electromyograms (EMG).
The measurements mentioned can also be used in combination with medical imaging processes such as computed tomography. For example, a heart recording or general imaging in the chest area can be clocked by an EKG in order to be able to take heart movements or chest movements into account in the imaging. With the imaging methods mentioned, the patient is located in a tubular examination unit, also called a gantry. During the imaging process in a CT system, a detector and x-ray source system runs around the patient to capture projection images from all sides. If a larger area of the gantry is magnetized, even at low field strengths of less than 1 mT, due to the size of the gantry, a magnetic field can occur which penetrates the patient almost homogeneously and thus causes disturbances in the ECG signal down to the mV range can. The disturbances mentioned are mainly characterized by the frequency of rotation of the gantry. In modern systems, this rotation frequency assumes values of 0.25 to 0.33 Hz. The interference has the result that certain characteristic features of differential measurements, such as the P wave or the T wave of the electrocardiogram, can no longer be clearly identified.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to reduce or even avoid interference caused by magnetic fields in the measurement of bioelectrical signals.
This object is achieved by a method for arranging measuring signal cables of a differential voltage measuring system in an area penetrated by a magnetic field of a medical imaging system according to claim 1, by a measuring signal cable arrangement according to claim 4, by a differential voltage measuring system according to
In the method according to the invention for arranging measuring signal cables of a differential voltage measuring system, having a plurality of measuring signal cables of different lengths, in an area penetrated by a magnetic field of a medical imaging system, the measuring signal cables are arranged in a straight line and parallel to one another on a patient's body and they are arranged such that they span a surface parallel to the magnetic field lines of the magnetic field.
An interference signal generated by magnetic fields and superimposed on the measurement signal can advantageously be avoided, so that the signal quality of a differential voltage measurement is improved and weaker characteristics of the measurement signal can also be recognized.
The inventive measurement signal cable arrangement of a differential voltage measurement system, which comprises a plurality of measurement signal cables of different lengths in an area penetrated by a magnetic field of a medical imaging system, has a plurality of measurement signal cables of different lengths, which are arranged in a straight line and parallel to one another on a patient's body so that they are arranged such that they span an area parallel to the magnetic field lines of the magnetic field.
For the conception of the measurement signal cable arrangement according to the invention, the knowledge is used that a magnetic field generated in the gantry only induces disturbances on surfaces or coils parallel to the support surface of the patient table, but not on surfaces perpendicular thereto. Therefore, according to the invention, an arrangement of the measurement signal cables is chosen in which they do not span a surface parallel to the patient table or do not form an edge of such an area in the edge of which, according to the induction law, an interference signal can be induced by a magnetic flux density that changes over time.
Due to the advantageous geometric arrangement, an interference signal generated by magnetic fields can be prevented or at least reduced, so that the signal quality is improved and weak characteristics of the measurement signal can also be recognized.
The differential voltage measuring system according to the invention for measuring bioelectric signals has the measuring signal cable arrangement according to the invention. The differential voltage measuring system according to the invention shares the advantages of the measuring signal cable arrangement according to the invention.
Further, particularly advantageous embodiments and developments of the invention emerge from the dependent claims and the following description, whereby the claims of one claim category can also be developed analogously to the claims and parts of the description for another claim category and in particular also add individual features to different exemplary embodiments or variants new embodiments or variants can be combined.
- - a magnetic resonance imaging system,
- - a computed tomography system.
A magnetic resonance imaging system has time-dependent gradient fields which can induce an interference signal in measuring electrodes. In a computed tomography system, a weak magnetization of parts of the gantry can already lead to a relatively strong interfering magnetic field due to their size.
In a variant of the method according to the invention, the measurement signal cables are arranged in such a way that they span a surface perpendicular to a patient support. The magnetic field lines of an interfering magnetic field usually run perpendicular to the patient bed, particularly in a CT system. A magnetic field aligned in this way does not induce an electrical voltage parallel to the direction of the magnetic field. Thus, by stretching a surface of the measurement signal cables perpendicular to the surface of the patient bed, that is, in a plane parallel to the direction of the magnetic field, an induction of an interference voltage in the measurement signal cables by the interference magnetic field is avoided.
In one embodiment of the measurement signal cable arrangement according to the invention, the measurement signal cables are arranged in such a way that they span a surface perpendicular to a patient support. As already explained above, this arrangement achieves a reduction in interference signals.
In one embodiment of the invention, the measurement signal cable arrangement according to the invention has cable guides which lead electrodes further away from the measuring device via electrodes arranged closer to the measuring device. In other words, the electrodes connected to the measuring device via shorter measuring signal cables gain access to the patient's body in that they are arranged closer to the patient's body in the vertical direction. All measurement signal cables run along the same path, so that the measurement signal cables do not form an edge of a surface parallel to the patient's support surface and thus the induction of an interference signal in the measurement signal cable arrangement is prevented or at least counteracted.
In a variant of the measurement signal cable arrangement according to the invention, it has a device for setting a variable length of the individual measurement signal cables in order to adapt their length to a patient's shape, the device having a minimal area parallel to the patient table. The length of the cables can advantageously be set with the aid of this device in such a way that the measurement signal cables do not form loops and run along a common cable path so that they do not span any surface parallel to the patient's support surface. Because the device for setting a variable length of the individual measurement signal cables is itself optimized with regard to an induction surface, any interference signal that occurs can be further minimized.
The device for setting a variable length of the individual measurement signal cables can have a device for tightly rolling up a spiral cable or a small cable drum which is arranged on a distributor of the measurement signal cables perpendicular to the patient table. That is, the longitudinal axis of the device is oriented perpendicular to the surface of the patient table. The area spanned by the measurement signal cables in the area in which they are rolled up is advantageously kept small and a means for adapting the length of the individual measurement signal cables to an individual body size of a patient is provided.
The distributor can comprise a stand with which it can be positioned next to a patient so that the measurement signal cables are distributed in a plane perpendicular to the patient table. This measure also serves to ensure that the measurement signal cables do not form an attack surface for a magnetic field.

Finally, it is pointed out once again that the devices and methods described in detail above are merely exemplary embodiments which can be modified in various ways by the person skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention. The differential voltage measurement system can not only be an EKG device, but also other medical devices with which bioelectrical signals are recorded, such as EEGs, EMGs, etc. Furthermore, the use of the indefinite article "includes" or “One” does not exclude the possibility that the characteristics concerned can also be present several times. Likewise, the term “unit” does not exclude that it consists of several components, which may also be spatially distributed.
