The invention relates to a method for producing a hot-roll clad composite material.
Hintergrund der ErfindungBackground of the invention
Composite materials, for example clad steel strips, are used wherever steels are required that have different properties that can only be achieved through material combinations. Often, properties such as special wear resistance and good deformability of steels are required which can only be achieved with composite materials.
Various methods are known for producing roll-clad metal sheets which are formed from at least two layers of different materials. For this purpose, at least two plates or sheets of different metals are usually placed one on top of the other, welded together at the edges, heated and rolled and thus plated. The space between the sheets is evacuated or vented after welding in order to prevent scale from growing when heated.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention
The invention is based on the object of simplifying a method for producing a hot-roll clad composite material and thus making it more cost-effective.
The object on which the invention is based is achieved by a method according to
According to the method according to the invention, it is provided that at least a first and a second sheet of a first and a second metal material are initially provided, that then at least one metallic solder, the softening temperature of which is less than 450 ° C., is applied to at least one of the cold sheets. The first and the second metal material can be the same or different materials. The solder is applied to at least two edges of at least one sheet. Subsequently, the first and the second sheet are soldered to form a laminated core, specifically at a temperature which is below the critical oxidation temperatures of the sheets. In the case of steel, for example, the critical oxidation temperature is around 400 ° C. The soldering is preferably carried out at a temperature of less than 350.degree. C., preferably less than 300.degree. The soldered laminated core is heated to at least an initial hot rolling temperature and then hot rolled. The hot rolling temperature of the laminated core is higher than the temperature of the sheets during soldering. The hot rolling temperature or hot rolling start temperature can, for example, be in the range between 850 ° C and 1300 ° C.
For the purposes of the present invention, sheet steel, for example, can be considered as metal materials. For the purposes of the present application, the terms “plates” on the one hand and “sheets” on the other hand are used synonymously. These terms do not imply any particular thickness of the materials used or obtained.
According to the invention, two or more metal sheets, for example three metal sheets, can be brought together to form a laminated core and processed to form a hot-roll clad composite material.
The advantage of the method according to the invention is basically to be seen in the fact that the connection to a laminated core is achieved relatively easily by means of a soft solder which can be applied to one of the laminations, for example in the form of a solder wire. Alternatively, the solder can also be applied as a powder to the surface of the lower sheet metal, for example. The soft solder does not create a material connection between the sheets. A special preparation of the sheets or the surface of the sheets is not necessary, the surfaces only have to be cleaned. As a result, the method according to the invention can be carried out relatively simply and inexpensively.
The solder is preferably applied to the cold sheet.
The joining of the sheets during soldering can also take place essentially cold.
In a preferred variant of the method according to the invention, it is provided that at least a first and a second solder trace is applied to at least two edge sides of at least one sheet, the first solder trace being a metallic solder with a softening temperature of less than 450 ° C and the second solder trace comprises metallic solder with a softening temperature greater than 450 ° C. Solder materials with a softening temperature of less than 450 ° C. are generally referred to as soft solders, those solder materials which have a softening temperature of over 450 ° C. are generally referred to as hard solders. The softening temperature is also referred to variously as the liquidus temperature. A solder or solder material in the context of the present invention is to be understood as meaning, for example, copper-containing material alloys such as bronze or brass, as well as tin, zinc or lead alloys.
Instead of a solder wire, a solder foil can also be used to carry out the method.
If the process is carried out discontinuously, the metal sheets are preferably soldered to one another at all peripheral edges. If the method is carried out continuously, at least the longitudinal band edges of the sheet metal strips to be joined are soldered to one another.
In a preferred variant of the method according to the invention it is provided that the method is carried out without venting the space or spaces in the laminated core. Particularly in the case of a continuous process, it may be advantageous to insert z. B. to introduce a protective gas and thus displace the air.
The laminated core is preferably heated under a protective gas atmosphere. The cold-joined sheets can be fixed relative to one another before hot rolling, for example by pins or by tack welding.
The first and the second sheet can each be provided as continuous webs of material. In such a continuous process, the first and the second sheet metal can be brought together, in particular soldered, at a temperature of less than 350 ° C. before heating.
At least one of the metal sheets can be appropriately prepared before the solder is applied in the area of the solder trace to be applied, for example the sheet in question can be degreased at least in this area.
Quite generally, it can be provided that the surfaces of the metal sheets to be joined are chemically and / or mechanically cleaned before the solder is applied.
