Description
The invention relates to a method for producing and using a hearing aid comprising an otoplastic. The invention also relates to a corresponding hearing device.
Hearing aids are typically referred to as classic hearing aids that are used to care for the hearing impaired. In a broader sense, however, this term also refers to devices that are designed to support people with normal hearing. Such hearing aids are also referred to as "Personal Sound Amplification Products" or "Personal Sound Amplification Devices" (short: "PSAD"). These are not intended to compensate for hearing loss, but are specifically used to support and improve normal human hearing in specific hearing situations, e.g. to support hunters on the hunt or to support animal observation, in order to be able to better perceive animal sounds and other noises produced by animals, for sports reporters to enable improved speech and / or speech understanding in complex background noise, for musicians to reduce the burden on the Reduce hearing, etc.
Regardless of the intended use, hearing aids typically have an input converter, a signal processing device, which usually comprises an amplifier, and an output converter as essential components. The input transducer is usually formed by an acoustoelectric transducer, that is, for example, by a microphone and / or by an electromagnetic receiver, for example an induction coil. An electroacoustic transducer is usually used as the output transducer, for example a miniature loudspeaker (also referred to as a “listener”), or an electromechanical transducer, for example a bone conduction receiver, and the signal processing device is generally implemented by an electronic circuit implemented on a printed circuit board.
In addition, hearing aids usually have one or two so-called otoplastics, also called ear molds. A corresponding otoplastic is designed for insertion into the opening of an external auditory canal of a user or wearer of the hearing device and is typically designed in the manner of a housing, that is to say as a type of hollow body. Depending on the design of the hearing aid or rather depending on the hearing device type, such an otoplastic then has one end of a sound tube in the case of a behind-the-ear hearing device (BTE: behind the ear) and in the case of an ex-hearing device (RIC : receiver in the canal) an output transducer, for example an electro-acoustic transducer, or in the case of an in-the-ear hearing aid (ITE: in the ear) in principle all other components or parts of the hearing aid.
Proceeding from this, the invention is based on the object of specifying an advantageous method for producing and using a hearing device and an advantageously designed hearing device.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a method with the features of claim 1 and by a hearing aid with the features of
The method according to the invention is designed for the production and use of a hearing device which has at least one otoplastic and in particular at least one otoplastic of the type mentioned at the beginning and which is used as a classic hearing aid to care for a hearing impaired person and / or as a “personal sound amplification product” of the type mentioned at the beginning is designed. Here, the at least one otoplastic is at least partially manufactured in the course of the production of the hearing device from a so-called intelligent material or from an intelligent material mix, so that typically at least a part of the at least one otoplastic after the hearing device has been produced and in particular after the otoplastic has been produced from the intelligent material or consists of the intelligent mix of materials. The at least one otoplastic is preferably produced using a 4D printing process. In addition, the geometry of the at least one earmold is changed in a predetermined manner by a user or wearer during the use of the hearing aid by a stimulus predetermined by the intelligent material or the intelligent material mix.
Depending on the application, the geometry is changed, for example, in such a way that the otoplastic is designed as a type of otoplastic that grows with the patient and thus adapts almost automatically to changes in the geometry of the wearer's ear. This means that the otoplastic typically adapts to subsequent changes in the ear tissue of the wearer, for whom the otoplastic was typically custom-made. Such an otoplastic, which grows with the patient, is advantageous, for example, if the wearer or user of the hearing aid is an adolescent child in whom the geometry of the ear changes over time. This means that a new earmold does not have to be made as often if changes are made with regard to the geometry of the ear, as is the case with hearing aids and in particular with earmolds according to the prior art.
Depending on the variant, for example, a reactive polymer is used as the intelligent material or intelligent material mix, or reactive polymer networks, for example reactive, liquid-crystalline polymer networks, are used. A useful example of an intelligent material mix is a combination of a water-repellent plastic and a water-swellable plastic. Furthermore, polyacrylates, silicones and polyurethanes are also used.
Furthermore, the otoplastic preferably has at least one so-called vent, that is to say a type of connecting channel which penetrates the otoplastic and thereby connects the external auditory canal to the surroundings when the otoplastic is arranged in the ear of the wearer. In such a case, a method variant is preferred in which the state of the vent is changed by the predetermined stimulus, the vent being transferred by the predetermined stimulus in particular from an open state to a closed state or from a closed state to an open state .
In the aforementioned closed state, however, the vent is not necessarily completely closed or closed and, in particular, is therefore not necessarily airtight. Instead, a small opening typically remains even when the vent is closed, for example for pressure equalization between the external auditory canal and the surroundings, although the opening when the vent is closed is smaller than the opening when the vent is open. The vent then forms, for example, an opening which has an opening area or passage area A 1 in the open state of the vent and which has a passage area A 2 less than or equal to 0.5 × A 1 and in particular less than or equal to 0.2 × when the vent is closed A 1 has.
In some cases, a further development is expedient in which the otoplastic has more than one vent, in which case, however, it is usually not necessary for every vent to be manipulated by the predetermined stimulus, so that the state of each vent is then changed by the predetermined stimulus changed. I.e. that, for example, all existing vents are transferred from an open state to a closed state or from a closed state to an open state by the predetermined stimulus.
The predetermined stimulus is advantageously selected by a suitable choice of an intelligent material or intelligent material mix for the otoplastic and is predetermined in this way. If the corresponding intelligent material or intelligent material mix is then actually used for the production of the earmold, then the stimulus to which the intelligent material or the intelligent material mix is based is predetermined and thus predetermined by the intelligent material or the intelligent material mix used responds. Preferably, a touch, a predetermined temperature range, a predetermined amount of moisture, an electric and / or magnetic field or radiation is used as a predetermined stimulus and accordingly the earmold is then made from an intelligent material or intelligent material mix that is based on such a predetermined Stimulus responds.
As already indicated, the entire otoplastic is not necessarily made from the corresponding intelligent material or the corresponding intelligent material mix; instead, in many cases it is sufficient to produce part of the otoplastic from the corresponding intelligent material or the corresponding intelligent material mix . For this reason too, an otoplastic according to the invention is in many cases made from more than one material.
Also preferred is a variant of the method in which the predetermined stimulus is generated quasi artificially, with a person, for example the user or wearer of the hearing aid, or a control unit or data processing unit preferably inducing or starting the generation of the predetermined stimulus.
Alternatively, the predetermined stimulus is caused by the environmental conditions that typically prevail during use of the hearing aid, that is to say by the natural environment. In such a case, the hearing aid is then typically enclosed in a special protective packaging after production, through which the hearing aid, until it is handed over to a user or wearer, virtually before the environmental conditions that are typically present during use of the hearing aid, and thus in particular before the predetermined one Stimulus is protected. Only after the protective packaging has been removed is the hearing aid then exposed to the typical environmental conditions and thus to the predetermined stimulus, as a result of which the geometry of the otoplastic changes in a predetermined manner, usually over a longer period of time, for example from a few weeks to several months.
In this way, a type of predetermined aging process is thus implemented, which is advantageous, for example, in the case of an otoplastic being designed as an otoplastic that grows with the patient. This means that, for example, the otoplastic grows with the wearer's ear as described above due to aging. Also advantageous is a variant in which at least one previously described vent gradually grows in the course of a corresponding predetermined aging process. In this way, a type of automatic acclimatization can be implemented, by means of which the user initially has a hearing aid with an open vent, for example in the case of initial care with a hearing aid, and by which the wearer or user of the hearing aid automatically has a hearing aid with a closed vent after a familiarization phase available without having to consult a hearing aid technician or hearing care professional and / or have a new earmold made. It should be borne in mind that hearing aids with a closed vent typically offer better acoustics, but that hearing aids with an open vent offer advantages for users who are using a hearing aid for the first time and accordingly have yet to get used to using a hearing aid. A few months, for example six months, are typically provided for the familiarization phase.
In other applications as well, it is sometimes advantageous if the geometry of the otoplastic is changed only once in a predetermined manner during the use of the hearing aid by a stimulus predetermined by the intelligent material or intelligent material mix. In some cases, this change takes place within a few minutes, in particular if no predetermined aging process is to be realized.
Alternatively, changes are made several times, in particular by changing the geometry of the otoplastic either in several, typically chronologically separate stages or steps from an initial state to an end state, or by repeatedly switching back and forth between an initial state and an end state.
Such a change then takes place, for example, in the case of a hearing aid technician or hearing care professional who uses a stimulus generator to artificially generate the predetermined stimulus and to have it act on the hearing aid. This variant is also suitable to enable a user or wearer of the hearing aid to get used to it, as described above. In addition, this variant is advantageous in order to make an adjustment when a hearing deterioration occurs in the user or wearer, in particular in that the user first receives a hearing device with a vent in an open state and that the hearing loss progresses when the hearing loss progresses or is gradually transferred to the closed state. In this way, for example, an improvement in speech understanding can be achieved, a reduction in outside noise and / or an improvement in the signal-to-noise ratio.
In particular, if multiple changes in the geometry of the otoplastic are provided and the geometry of the otoplastic is to switch back and forth, for example, several times between two states, it is also advantageous if the hearing device has a stimulus generator for artificially generating the predetermined stimulus. That stimulus generator is typically controlled via an operating element, for example by the carrier or user and / or automatically by a control unit or data processing unit, and has, for example, a capacitor, a coil and / or a heating element. If the state of the vent is further changed by the predetermined stimulus, the vent being transferred by the predetermined stimulus in particular from an open state to a closed state or from a closed state to an open state, then one is preferably used by means of the stimulus generator Kind of switchable vent realized.
According to one embodiment variant, such a stimulus generator is also positioned on a wall of the otoplastic or in the vicinity of such a wall, so that the stimulus generator acts on the conversion and, if appropriate, on the immediate surrounding area, provided the stimulus generator is active.
In addition, a variant is advantageous in this context, in which the otoplastic has a wall which forms at least part of the aforementioned vent and if in the vicinity of this wall the stimulus generator, for example a capacitor, a coil and / or a heating element, is arranged. For the purposes of this application, the wall is not only part of the otoplastic viewed but also as part of the Vents. In an advantageous further development, the conversion then has a type of closure structure, for example a flap or a type of flap mechanism, which can be manipulated by the stimulus generator so that it ensures a closed vent in one state and an open vent in another state . This means that the vent is in the closed state or in the open state, depending on the state of the closure structure. For the purposes of this application, the closure structure is not only regarded as part of the otoplastic, but also as part of the vent. The state of the closure structure also determines the current geometry of the otoplastic, the otoplastic having a first geometry in one of the states of the closure structure and in the other state of the closure structure a second geometry which differs from the first.
If the hearing device now has a stimulus generator of the type described above and the hearing device is also designed for a controllable change between an open state of the vent and a closed state of the vent, this is used in accordance with an advantageous variant of the method to automatically Realize hearing protection function. This means that the vent is, for example, in the open state by default and changes automatically to the closed state automatically, i.e. controlled by a control unit or data processing unit and caused by the stimulus generator, if, for example, the sound pressure in the environment exceeds a predetermined limit value or if, for example, a quantity derived from sound pressure exceeds a predetermined threshold.
As an alternative or in addition, such a switchable vent can be used to implement a switchover option during a streaming process. In such a case, the hearing aid is then sometimes not used as a classic hearing aid for the hearing impaired, but rather as a kind of headphones, for example for listening to music or for making calls. It is then provided according to an embodiment variant to transfer the vent from an open state to a closed state or from a closed state to an open state, depending on whether the hearing device is currently used as a classic hearing aid for the hearing impaired or as headphones, for example Listening to music or calling.

It should be borne in mind that hearing aids with a closed vent typically offer better acoustics, but that hearing aids with an open vent offer advantages for users who are using a hearing aid for the first time and accordingly still have to get used to using a hearing aid.
As an alternative to moisture, another predetermined stimulus is advantageous depending on the application, for example infrared radiation or ultraviolet radiation.
