Description
The invention relates to a sensor device for detecting fine dust in at least one gas volume, comprising at least one measuring chamber for receiving the gas volume, at least one sample gas supply assigned to the measuring chamber, at least one sample gas discharge assigned to the measuring chamber and at least one housing, the measuring chamber, the sample gas supply and the sample gas discharge are arranged at least in sections in a first housing space of the housing.
Sensor devices for examining gas volumes, in particular for detecting fine dust, are used in a large number of application areas, for example in the automotive sector. For example, the fine dust content of a sample gas volume can be examined by means of a sensor device. For this purpose, the sensor device has at least one measuring space in which the sample gas volume can be examined. For example, the ambient air of a vehicle can be examined as a sample gas for its fine dust content, for example in order to decide whether or not it makes sense to ventilate the vehicle interior with the ambient air. The sample gas volume can be fed to the measuring chamber by a sample gas feed in the form of a gas flow, in particular through a sample gas feed line. After the analysis, the sample gas volume can be led out of the measuring room through a sample gas outlet. The measuring space, the sample gas supply and the sample gas discharge are at least partially arranged in a housing. For example, a laser light source that irradiates the sample gas volume in the measuring space can be used for the measurement. Based on the reflections and scattering of the incident laser light, conclusions can be drawn about the fine dust contained in the sample volume. When the sensor device is used in the automobile sector, the sensor device can be subject to strong temperature fluctuations. In the case of temperature fluctuations, especially when the measuring space is arranged in a closed housing, for example overpressure can occur in the housing, which can lead to the housing bursting open or the measurements can also be negatively influenced.
In order to compensate for fluctuations in the internal pressure in the housing, for example due to temperature fluctuations, the housing can have a pressure compensation element for the surroundings of the housing. For example, the pressure compensation element can be formed by a pressure compensation opening in an outer housing wall. When using the sensor device in the automotive sector, the pressure compensation opening must be protected against the entry of, for example, dirt particles. For this purpose, filter devices or cover elements provided specifically for this purpose are required, with complete protection, in particular against external influences, being very expensive.
The invention is based on the object of proposing a sensor device in which pressure equalization between the interior of the housing and the surroundings is possible, the penetration of dirt particles into the housing being prevented.
In the case of a sensor device for examining at least one gas volume, in particular for detecting fine dust in at least one gas volume, comprising at least one measuring space for receiving the gas volume, at least one sample gas supply assigned to the measuring space, at least one sample gas discharge assigned to the measuring space and at least one housing, the measuring space, the sample gas supply and the sample gas discharge are arranged at least in sections in a first space of the housing, it is essential to the invention that at least one further gas supply is assigned to the measuring space and that at least one pressure compensation element is arranged between the first housing and the further gas supply.
The measuring space in which the sample gas volume to be measured is received or through which the sample gas flow is passed is arranged in a first housing space of the housing. A sensor device is assigned to the measuring space, which has, for example, a laser light source and a sensor element, in particular a photodiode. The laser light source irradiates the sample gas present in the measuring room, i.e. the gas or gas mixture to be examined, with laser light, whereby the laser light scattered on the dust particles in the sample gas volume can be detected by means of the photodiode. In order to supply the sample gas in the form of a sample gas stream, in particular ambient air, the sensor device has a sample gas supply, which can be formed, for example, by a supply line. Correspondingly, a sample gas discharge, which can be formed by a discharge line, is assigned to the measuring space for discharging the analyzed sample gas. In addition, another gas supply is assigned to the measuring room. This can be, for example, a cleaning gas feed, i.e. a sheath gas feed, through which the cleaned gas can be introduced into the measuring chamber, to contaminate the measuring chamber, the optical elements or the like, for example by the deposition of Fine dust particles to prevent. The cleaning gas feed can be designed in sections as a gas-conducting line, in particular as a pipeline, and can be arranged at least in sections in a second housing space of the housing. A pressure compensation element is arranged between the first housing space and the further gas supply and connects the first housing space with the further gas supply. An overpressure that occurs in the first housing space, for example due to temperature fluctuations, can be compensated for by the pressure compensation element. This results in a pressure equalization between the further gas supply and the first housing space. An overpressure that builds up inside the first housing space can thus be reduced via the further gas supply. So there is only an indirect connection between the interior of the housing and the environment. A direct connection between the interior of the housing and the environment is therefore not necessary. The entry of dirt particles through a direct connection to the environment is thus prevented.
In a further development of the invention, the housing is sealed gas-tight. A gas-tight closure of the housing, in particular of the first housing space in which, among other things, the measuring space is arranged, provides good protection for the components located in the housing. This enables precise measurement of the fine dust content without being influenced by external influences. By arranging a pressure compensation element in the interior of the housing between a first housing space and a gas line, precise measurements are possible even with pressure fluctuations without a direct connection to the environment being necessary.
In a further development of the invention, the pressure compensation element is designed as a pressure compensation opening between the first housing space and the further gas supply. The pressure compensation element between the first housing space and the further gas supply can be designed as a pressure compensation opening. A pressure equalization opening which connects the first housing space with the further gas supply creates a simple possibility of equalizing an overpressure that builds up in the first housing space.
In a further development of the invention, the further gas supply is a cleaning gas supply. A cleaning gas feed can be assigned to the measuring room, through which the cleaned gas, for example sample gas already examined in the measuring room from which the entrained particles were removed, can be introduced into the measuring room in order to prevent the optical elements in the measuring room from being soiled by the deposition of particles prevent or remove. In particular, the cleaning gas feed can be designed in sections as a pipeline and have a gas-conducting connection to the sample gas discharge. A gas flow portion of the sample gas flow already examined, which is passed from the measuring chamber into the sample gas outlet, is branched off from the sample gas outlet and fed to the cleaning gas supply. For this purpose, the cleaning gas supply can be connected to the sample gas discharge via a T-piece, for example. The cleaning gas supply can have a cleaning device, for example a filter device with at least one filter element, through which the sample gas already examined is filtered and thus freed from the particles in the sample gas. The filtered sample gas can be fed to the measuring space in such a way that a gas stream of the cleaned sample gas flows over the optical elements located in the measuring space, so that a cleaning effect is achieved. In particular, a pressure compensation element can be arranged between the cleaning gas feed and the first housing space, so that an overpressure building up in the first housing space can be reduced via the pressure compensation element into the cleaning gas feed. Since the cleaning gas supply has a gas-conducting connection to the measuring chamber and via this indirectly a gas-conducting connection to the environment via the sample gas discharge, an overpressure in the housing can be compensated for via the cleaning gas supply without a direct connection to the environment being necessary.
In a further development of the invention, a flat filter element is assigned to the cleaning gas feed and a section of the flat filter element is assigned to the pressure compensation element. A flat filter element, for example a filter membrane, is assigned to the cleaning gas feed. The filter element filters out particles that are contained in the gas conducted in the cleaning gas feed. For example, sample gas that has already been examined can be processed in the cleaning gas feed by one or more filter stages in order to use the cleaned sample gas as cleaning gas. A section of the filter element of the cleaning gas supply is assigned to the pressure compensation element. Assigning the filter element to the pressure compensation element, in particular to the pressure compensation opening, prevents foreign bodies, such as dust particles from the gas conducted in the cleaning gas supply, from entering the first housing space through the pressure compensation opening. The filter element thus serves, on the one hand, to filter the sample gas, with the still uncleaned sample gas passing the filter in the flow direction when it is fed to the measuring chamber. On the other hand, the filter section assigned to the pressure compensation element serves to protect the first housing space from contamination and is passed through the cleaning gas supply counter to the flow direction of the cleaning gas supply when an overpressure is compensated for in the first housing space. By using the filter element for the pressure equalization opening and for the cleaning gas supply, there is a cost saving in production by saving a filter element specially provided for the pressure equalization opening.
In a further development of the invention, the filter section assigned to the pressure compensation element is spatially separated from the filter area assigned to the cleaning gas feed. The spatial separation of the filter area, which is assigned to the pressure compensation opening and the filter section, which is assigned to the cleaning gas feed, prevents the filter section of the pressure compensation element from being covered with particles by the gas to be cleaned from the cleaning gas feed and thus contaminated. Long-term permeability of the filter of the pressure compensation opening is thus given.
In a further development of the invention, the border of the pressure compensation opening is connected to the filter element. The border of the pressure equalization opening is connected to the flat filter element. By connecting the border to the filter element, a spatial separation of the filter section, which is provided for the cleaning gas supply, from the filter section, which is provided for the pressure compensation element, is provided in a simple manner.
In a further development of the invention, the border of the pressure compensation opening is welded to the filter element. A simple type of connection is provided by welding the border of the pressure compensation opening to the flat filter element, which can for example be a filter fleece. By welding the edges of the pressure equalization opening, a spatial separation is formed between the two filter sections.
