Description
The invention relates to an exhaust gas aftertreatment device according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Such exhaust gas aftertreatment devices are already sufficiently known from the general prior art. The respective exhaust gas aftertreatment device has an exhaust pipe which has or delimits a channel through which exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine can flow. In addition, the exhaust gas aftertreatment device comprises a metering element, by means of which an in particular liquid reducing agent for denitrifying the exhaust gas can be introduced, in particular injected, into the exhaust pipe and thereby into the exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust pipe at an introduction point. In addition, the exhaust gas aftertreatment device comprises a mixing element, arranged downstream of the introduction point in the exhaust pipe, for mixing the exhaust gas with the reducing agent introduced into the exhaust gas.
The object of the present invention is to further develop an exhaust gas aftertreatment device of the type mentioned at the beginning in such a way that a particularly advantageous mixing of the exhaust gas with the reducing agent can be achieved.
This object is achieved by an exhaust gas aftertreatment device with the features of claim 1. Advantageous refinements with expedient developments of the invention are specified in the remaining claims.
In order to further develop an exhaust gas aftertreatment device of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that a particularly advantageous mixing of the exhaust gas with the preferably liquid reducing agent introduced into the exhaust gas can be realized, according to the invention, an in the exhaust pipe is at least partially downstream of the inlet point and at least partially upstream of the mixing element arranged guide element is provided, by means of which the channel is divided into at least or exactly two sub-channels through which respective parts of the exhaust gas can flow. The guide element is formed, for example, from a metallic material, in particular from a sheet metal, and is therefore also referred to as a guide plate. Since the channel is divided into the two sub-channels by means of the guide element, the guide element is also referred to as a symmetry element or symmetry sheet. In particular, the channel is subdivided into the sub-channels by means of the baffle plate in such a way that the sub-channels, in particular with regard to their cross-sections through which the exhaust gas can flow, are at least essentially symmetrical to one another.
By using the guide element, a particularly advantageous mixture preparation can be realized, within the framework of which the reducing agent introduced, in particular injected, into the exhaust gas can be mixed particularly advantageously by means of the mixing element, also referred to as a mixer. In particular, respective parts of the reducing agent can be mixed with the respective parts of the exhaust gas at least substantially homogeneously or uniformly, so that a particularly advantageous mixture preparation and, as a result, a particularly advantageous exhaust gas aftertreatment can be implemented.
The invention is based in particular on the following findings: Usually, the mixing element, also referred to as a mixer, is designed to generate at least or precisely two vortices in order to mix the exhaust gas with the reducing agent and thus implement an advantageous mixture preparation. The respective eddy rotates, for example, about a main flow direction along which the exhaust gas flows through the exhaust pipe and, for example, the eddies have opposite or opposite or contradicting directions of rotation, so that the respective eddy is, for example, a swirl. The mixer is thus designed, for example, to realize two swirl-shaped flows of the exhaust gas in order to mix the exhaust gas with the reducing agent. This is why the mixer is also known as a double swirl mixer. The reducing agent is evaporated and mixed with the exhaust gas in the vortices rotating, for example, symmetrically to one another. It is usually necessary to ensure that the same ratios of reducing agent to exhaust gas are present in both eddies in order to enable at least substantially uniform homogenization. If there is a larger amount of the reducing agent on one side or in one of the eddies than on the other side or in the other eddy, a sufficiently uniform distribution or mixing cannot be created, since there is only a small exchange of substances between the eddies.
In the case of long, straight exhaust pipes, it is quite easy to realize that the same ratios of reducing agent to exhaust gas are present in both vortices. However, in real exhaust pipes used in motor vehicles, in particular motor vehicles, the exhaust pipe is not straight for reasons of installation space, but the exhaust pipe follows at least one or more arches and is thus arch-shaped. On the one hand, such bends cause an uneven exhaust gas mass flow distribution over the pipe cross-section, on the other hand, the injected reducing agent is also blown transversely to the direction of flow, so that, depending on the exhaust gas / flow velocity, there is an asymmetry in the distribution of the reducing agent over the cross-section of the exhaust pipe.
The aforementioned problems and disadvantages can now be avoided by the invention. By means of the guide element, an at least almost symmetrical distribution of the reducing agent to the sub-channels and thus to the parts of the exhaust gas and consequently to the eddies can be achieved, especially when the flow in the exhaust pipe, also referred to simply as a pipe, does not run parallel to the pipe axis and / or the exhaust pipe follows an arc, that is to say extends or is formed at least partially in an arc shape.
The guide element is, for example, a symmetry plate attached or arranged between the metering element and the mixer, by means of which the reducing agent is prevented from being excessively blown by exhaust gas cross-flows and from being distributed excessively asymmetrically in the exhaust pipe or in the exhaust gas. It can thus be ensured that the same ratio of reducing agent to exhaust gas is present in the exhaust pipe on both sides of the guide element and thus in both vortices, in particular also when the exhaust pipe is designed as a pipe bend and is therefore curved.
The guide element is preferably arranged in the middle of the exhaust pipe or the channel, so that, for example, a spray, with the formation of which the reducing agent is introduced into the exhaust gas by means of the metering element, in particular injected, is divided into two halves. The guide element then runs, for example, particularly starting from the introduction point, along the central axis of the exhaust pipe to the mixer, where it ends, for example, in front of the mixer along an axis of symmetry or plane of symmetry.
Care should be taken to ensure that the exhaust gas is at least substantially homogeneously distributed in the channel upstream of the metering element, also referred to as metering or doser, and that the velocity vectors are parallel to the axis of the exhaust pipe. The aim here should be to introduce the reducing agent in equal parts on both sides of the symmetry plane of the mixer. If the exhaust gas does not flow along the pipe axis, it is advantageous to attach baffles in front of the metering element in order to at least substantially parallelize the flow of the exhaust gas. If there is still a cross flow in front of the metering element, a spray can be used that does not meter any reducing agent in its spray axis. For this purpose, a two- or four-hole spray is used, for example, as the spray and is sprayed into the exhaust gas. Furthermore, a hollow cone spray can be used as the spray, since there is only a small spray mass in the plane of symmetry. If a plane of symmetry between the metering element and the mixer is twisted, the symmetry plate (guide element) can also be twisted, in particular in itself. So the plane of symmetry can be rotated.
It is also conceivable to use a mixer with a large number of swirls. In other words, it is conceivable that the mixer is designed to generate a greater number of eddies of the exhaust gas than two. In particular, the mixer can be designed as a so-called quadrodirectional mixer, by means of which at least or precisely four eddies of the exhaust gas can be generated. For this purpose, a spray is advantageously used which has the same number of spray lobes that are eddies or swirls in the flow or are caused by the mixer. Here, symmetry plates are also advantageously used between the individual planes of symmetry in order to prevent changes in the mixing ratio of reducing agent to exhaust gas.
It is also conceivable to provide the symmetry plate (guide element) with evaporator plates. These evaporator plates form an impact surface for the spray and are used to evaporate the reducing agent.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention it is provided that part of the guide element is arranged at the introduction point.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that, based on a flow path beginning at the inlet point and ending at the mixing element, which is to be covered by the exhaust gas flowing from the inlet point to the mixing element, the guide element extends over at least half of the flow path, in particular at least over more than half of the flow path and preferably at least over the entire flow path.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the guide element extends in an arc at least in a length region.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the guide element with respect to its shape is adapted to a shape of the exhaust pipe.
