Abstract
It describes how direct electrical machines are designed so that they can be configured almost arbitrarily in terms of force / torque, speed / speed and current / voltage. The basis for this is the use of wound pole cores, each of which represents a part / tooth of a tooth winding in the configuration of the electrical machine. Depending on the arrangement of the pole cores and the commutation of the winding teeth, electrical machines with different properties are created. Furthermore, the advantages of using electrically excited or hybrid secondary parts in arrangements of linear machines, with which not only higher speeds in the field weakening range can be achieved, the electrical differential is realized and which allows the use of a control method in which the normal force counteracts the force of gravity, in that the stator does not pull along the secondary part magnet, but repels it. Furthermore, the advantageous construction of rotary direct machines, also using pole cores, is described.

Charakteristik des bekannten Standes der TechnikCharacteristic of the known prior art
The theory, design, construction and construction of electrical machines are well known.
In general, the stators of electrical machines are constructed as laminated cores, in the slots of which the windings of the most varied types are introduced.
Rotary machines consist of a stator and rotor. There is one machine type for each form of sheet metal in the laminated core, which is defined by the overall height, ie in the case of a laminated core, the division into performance classes is based on the length of the stator / rotor.
Conventional electrical machines usually have an elongated design (the length of the stator bore and the rotor are larger in comparison to the respective diameter, relatively few pole pairs, resulting in high speeds and small moments, which usually requires a gearbox). The inertia of the rotor is lower compared to the torque motor and the proportion of leakage inductance is also lower due to the smaller winding head size compared to active winding parts.
Compared to the length of the stator bore, torque motors have a larger inner diameter of the stator, significantly more pole pairs, but develop lower speeds for this and can usually be operated without a mechanical gear. In the case of torque motors, the outer surface of the inner bore of the stator package (or the short rotor cylinder) is used as the active surface. There are also designs as bell or pot rotors, in which the movable rotor in the form of a pot (the active surface inside the pot) is placed over the immovable stator.
Linear drives consist of primary and secondary parts. In the case of a rotating electrical machine, the primary part corresponds to the stator, the secondary part to the rotor.
- • usw. (Zahnwicklung, verkettete Wicklung...)
- • the iron-covered version, in which the stator coils are wound on an iron core (laminated core)
- • The ironless version, in which the stator coils are not wound on an iron core
- • Asynchronous linear drives in which the secondary part is inactive and either consists of electrically conductive material or of a kind of "cage structure" using electrotechnical sheet metal
- • Synchronous linear drives, in which permanent magnets are used in the secondary part
- • etc. (tooth winding, chained winding ...)
With regard to the flexibility of performance parameters, all versions of electrical machines are limited by the shape and size of the laminated cores and usually cannot be cascaded as desired.
According to the invention, these disadvantages are to be eliminated according to 1.2.1.
- 1. When used in machine tools for machining, large feed forces are required, which can be generated by using synchronous drives. In this case, however, the permanent magnets of the secondary part have to be protected against chips with very complex measures. Something similar can be observed in water jet, plasma and laser cutting - here the magnetic poles clog with the removed dusts over time if they have ferromagnetic properties.
- 2. While using rotary, externally excited DC machines it was very easy to go into the field weakening range (ie less force, but more speed), this is only possible to a limited extent or not at all with the linear drives currently in use.
- 3. At high travel speed (relative speed between primary and secondary part), the permanent magnets induce very high voltages in the stator windings, which are opposite to the stator voltage and weaken it. This means that with a given stator voltage (usually not higher than the mains voltage) the maximum travel speed of the linear motor arrangement is limited.
- 4. The synchronization of two drives, which are mechanically connected to each other, can only be achieved with the existing systems using complex hardware and fast software in the drive controllers. The “electrical shaft” or “electrical differential”, which are easy to implement in rotary asynchronous drives with phase rotors, does not work in the known embodiments of linear motors.
- 5. In rotary electrical machines with good mechanical design (same air gap along the circumference of the stator bore) there are hardly any attractive forces between the stator and the rotor or compensate for one another. The attractive forces that occur when the air gap is uneven are simply absorbed by the roller bearings of the motor. In the case of linear drives, on the other hand, there are very strong attractive forces between the secondary part and the primary part, which can only be absorbed by very large bearings. The attractive forces are a multiple of the feed force of the linear motor.
- 1. the permanently magnetically excited secondary part is replaced by an electromagnetically excited one (in any design: single-phase, three-phase, etc., tooth winding, interlinked winding ...).
- 2. the excitation / energization of the secondary part is carried out with a voltage / current system of any shape (direct current, alternating current, three-phase current, etc.). The use of electromagnetically excited secondary parts should not be confused with the double stator arrangement for linear motors!
- 3. The voltage / current system is regulated according to certain algorithms
- 4. Electromagnetically excited secondary parts in gantry arrangements are electrically coupled (in series, parallel, etc. - different variants can be implemented, also with regard to the handling of the star point - if available in the respective arrangement).
There are also various magnetic bearing systems, but all of them are based on the principle of attraction between magnetic systems. An exception here is the rejection using the effect of superconductivity, which is technically very complex and only for very few Use cases makes sense. However, all of these magnetic bearing systems are required in addition to the drive.
According to the invention. 1.2.IV the linear drive should take on the task of generating the feed force as well as the generation of the repulsive force. The same applies to the rotary electric drive, in which, according to the method presented, both a torque and the magnetic bearing can be generated with one and the same coil arrangement.

According to the invention, almost any rotational and linear arrangements can be realized with one and the same pole core, which is not the case in the machine of this publication.
The ferromagnetic disks to which the rotor magnets are applied and which act as a magnetic yoke are also a disadvantage. On the one hand, the magnetic fluxes that are not involved in the force formation short, on the other hand, only one side of the magnet is used here. There is no protection against the influence of centrifugal force.
According to the invention, the magnets are therefore to be embedded in a non-ferromagnetic stator disk in such a way that both north and south poles of the same magnet are involved in the force / moment formation.
Ziel der Erfindung und deren VorteilePurpose of the invention and its advantages
6 ).
- Problem:
- The performance parameters are determined by the size of the laminated core; in the case of rotary drives, the next performance level is carried out by extending the stator bore (more sheets in the package); for linear motors by widening the stator package (also more sheets). Torque / force and speed / speed are determined by the winding.
- Solution:
- Use of wound coil cores (pole cores), whereby a core shape with a tooth winding is sufficient to create a whole range of applications. With a linear arrangement of the machine the number of pole cores is p * m (p- number of poles, m- number of phases of the supply voltage), with a
rotary arrangement 2 * p * m. - Problem:
- The performance data are determined by the sheet metal cuts.
- Solution:
- The stators can be cascaded transversely by using several tracks and lengthwise by using several pole cores. The cascading lengthways can be done in steps of m (m = number of phases), the cascading lengthways in integer ratios (
3rd and4th ). - Problem:
- The speeds are defined by the winding once inserted.
- Solution:
- Different connection of the pole cores and use of secondary parts with the same pitch but different magnetic pole sequence (table in
6 ).
- Problem:
- Attraction of ferromagnetic chips in machine tools by the permanent magnets of the secondary part in machining processes and of ferromagnetic dust when using different cutting processes.
- Solution:
- Switching off the secondary part (or in hybrid arrangements in which the induction of permanent magnets can be weakened to a certain extent by electromagnets - minimizing the induction) and cleaning with mechanical means (brooms, compressed air, etc.).
- Problem:
- Limited speed with linear motors, since conventional control methods or the permanent magnets hardly support the field weakening and the level of the stator voltage is usually limited by the mains voltage (apart from special electronics with step-up converters or similar).
- Solution:
- Lowering the voltage of the secondary part poles by means of a simple voltage regulator or increasing the voltage of the electromagnet acting counter to a permanent magnet in hybrid arrangements in order to implement field weakening.
- Problem:
- Electronically complex synchronization of two mechanically coupled drives in gantry arrangements.
- Solution:
- Use of a controller for both stators (parallel or in series - ie the two connected stators of the gantry arrangement are considered as in the stator) and electrical coupling of the two electromagnetic secondary parts, either in poles or in another sector. Balancing is supported by the equalizing currents.
- Problem:
- In the case of linear arrangements, magnets are glued onto a ferromagnetic yoke, either mechanically or by using a template / die, which is then removed again. The adhesive surface is only the non-effective pole.
- Solution:
- Use of a removable die made of non-ferromagnetic material (e.g. aluminum), which not only smoothes corrugations, but also enlarges the adhesive surface by using the side surfaces of the magnet and thus increases the mechanical resistance to a magnet tear. Furthermore, this layer construction increases the resistance to bending moments caused by attractive forces between the primary and secondary part or between the stator and rotor.
- Problem:
- Magnets of the secondary parts / rotors are unprotected in the air gap and the field lines run straight into the primary part / stator poles.
- Solution:
- Use of a thin cover made of non-magnetic stainless steel, which only slightly increases the magnetic air gap. This protects the magnets even better from damage, fixes them better and the flux lines become “softer” due to the phase transitions. In fact, tests have shown that this even increases the forces / moments compared to the version without a cover plate
- Problem:
- With a multi-pole machine (large diameter), the circumferential surface of a cylinder is smaller than the available side surface of the cylinder from a radius of the cylinder> height of the cylinder (see
8th ). - Solution:
- The magnets are embedded in the side surfaces of the cylinder.
- Problem:
- In conventional torque motors, the magnets are used on one side, although the magnetic flux density of a permanent magnet is greater than the flux density that an electromagnetic coil can produce.
- Solution:
- Due to the arrangement in the side surfaces, the permanent magnets are used on both sides, i.e. two stator parts work on one magnet or one divided magnet.
- Problem:
- At high speeds, the permanent magnets must be bandaged on the outer surface or a top rotor must be used to counteract the influence of centrifugal forces.
- Solution:
- The magnets are embedded in the side of the rotor disc; centrifugal forces no longer play a role.
- Problem:
- The greater the power required for the same diameter, the larger the air gap area and the deeper the stator bore.
- Solution:
- Several tracks of the side surface are used in such a way that the track radii form integer ratios - the same ratios as the different synchronous speeds of the individual tracks (
4th ). - Problem:
- Cascading several torque motors is technically difficult to implement.
- Solution:
- If higher power is required, stator and rotor disks can be cascaded in layers or stacks.
- Problem:
- Moments ripple along the air gap.
- Solution:
- Use of 2 magnets with half the thickness along the direction of magnetization, which are offset accordingly (
7 ). - Problem:
- With conventional arrangements of electrical machines, segment drives are not possible.
- Solution:
- By using pole cores on a circle segment as a stator and a disc with embedded magnets, segment drives can be easily realized. The advantageous use of segment machines can be seen, for example, in the case of take-offs on coils, where the stator is either short-circuited or excited with direct voltage (dynamic braking).
- Problem:
-
- • High attraction forces with linear motors between primary and secondary part.
- • A second independent support magnet system is required for the magnetic suspension of the stator.
- Solution:
- Regulation of the components of the space vectors of the primary partial currents and secondary partial currents in arrangements with an electromagnetic secondary part and regulation of the components of the space vector of the primary partial currents in arrangements with a permanent magnetic secondary part such that both the tangential force-forming components (vector product) of the air gap performance and the normal force-forming components (scalar product) are the same Quadrants are located (in simple words: the stator does not attract along the magnets, but pushes itself away from the magnets).

Explanation to 1.2.IV
The following explanations are explained using the example of a linear drive. The same applies to the rotary electric drive.
In the dissertation “A model for simulating the transient processes of an asynchronous linear machine. Parameterization using the example of an eddy current rotor “[L.1] using space vectors for current and magnetic flux shows that the following forces occur in a linear motor arrangement:
Vorschub- bzw. Tangentialkraft:
Anziehungs- bzw. Normalkraft
- M - Koppelinduktivitäten
- δ - Luftspalt
- τ - Polteilung
- Indizes Grossbuchstaben- Komponenten des Raumvektors der Primärteilströme Indizes Kleinbuchstaben- Komponenten des Raumvektors der Sekundärteilströme
- M - coupling inductors
- δ - air gap
- τ - pole pitch
- Indices uppercase components of the space vector of the primary substreams Indices lowercase components of the space vector of the secondary substreams
In other words: The feed force is defined by the vector product of the current pointer, the attraction force by the scalar product of the current pointer. It does not matter whether the primary part is three-phase or two-phase (electromagnetic north and south poles), since different systems can be transformed back and forth into the three-phase by means of coordinate transformation.
It can be shown that there are areas in which both a feed force (vector product> 0) and a repulsion force (scalar product> 0) arise. This fact is graphically in
The diagram shows the feed force F T and the attraction force F N between the primary part and the secondary part of a linear motor arrangement. The display is time-independent, it applies to every point in time. The angular frequencies ω of both space vectors are the same. The phase shift was assigned to the components of the space vector of the secondary part current, assumed the same for each component ϕ a = ϕ b = ϕ c ) and runs through the range from 0 ... 2 * π.
Bereich von 0 ... π/2 (1,571)Range from 0 ... π / 2 (1,571)
If the phase positions are identical, there is only a maximum attractive force, the feed force is zero (vector product!).
As the phase shift increases, the force of attraction becomes smaller and the feed force increases. At ϕ = π / 2 the feed force is greatest, the attraction force becomes zero.
Bereich von π/2... π (1.571...3.142)Range from π / 2 ... π (1,571 ... 3,142)
This is the work area for levitation. Both the feed force and the repulsive force are in the right range. The other areas of phase shift can be used in special operating modes.
In the explanation, the amplitudes of the current space vector components were assumed to be the same. The amounts of the feed and repulsive force are regulated, among other things. about the current amplitudes.
Basically, all methods are to be considered in which the vector and the scalar product have the desired directions. This can be done not only by phase shifting, but also by using components of the space vector of the primary partial currents and components of the space vector of the secondary partial currents of any shape, amplitude, frequency, etc. For better clarity, sinusoidal components of the space vectors have been assumed - but these can have any shape. For example, it is conceivable to make a fine adjustment of the linear motor arrangement using various harmonics.
The control method can therefore also be used when using permanent magnets in linear motor arrangements and rotary motors; in this case, only the room vector components of the primary part or the stator are regulated accordingly.

Depending on the requirements, the pole cores can also be connected in groups; this makes sense, for example, when there are a large number of pole cores. Then the available supply voltage per pole would be lower than with fewer poles. Therefore, as in
