Description
The invention relates to a method for cutting a glass element, in which a perforation is created in the glass element by means of a perforation laser along an intended cutting line and then a separation edge is created in the glass element by means of a separation laser. It further relates to the use of a laser in such a method and a cutting system for carrying out the method.
A variety of processes and concepts can be used to cut or separate glasses or glass elements. Among other things, laser-based processes such as laser filament cutting can be used, especially with regard to complex cut shapes or high precision requirements.
A particularly high-quality and precise separation can be achieved with such a laser-based filament cutting process, in that a further treatment step with a laser is then carried out for the actual separation after the filamentation or perforation has been introduced. In this case, for example, a CO 2 laser can be provided with which locally limited heating is generated in the glass material in the area of the filament track. This causes it to crack or break along the contour. Such a method is particularly suitable for glasses of comparatively high thermal expansion; however, it also provides a comparatively sharp-edged and therefore vulnerable separating edge. Therefore, after the cutting or separating, a further post-treatment is usually required, in which the separating edge is provided, for example, with a curve or a chamfer.
The invention is based on the object of specifying a method of the type mentioned above, which enables a particularly simple process sequence with high reliability. Furthermore, a cutting system that is particularly suitable for carrying out the method is to be specified.
With regard to the method, this object is achieved according to the invention in that the cutting edge is modified in its edge profile by the cutting laser.
The invention is based on the consideration that the process of laser filament cutting often results in very sharp-edged separating edges which have to be post-treated, for example rounded, for subsequent further processing of the glass element. In contrast, the cutting step should be designed in the manner of an integrated configuration for a particularly efficient process management, with a modification of the edge profile of the cutting edge also taking place during the cutting.
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
As a modification of the edge profile of the separating edge, a rounding of the separating edge and / or the attachment of a chamfer is advantageously provided.
With regard to the cutting system, the stated object is achieved with a perforation laser and with a separating laser, which can be guided along an intended cutting line on the respective glass elements via an associated control device, the separating laser being designed as an ablation laser.
Ablation lasers of this type are available and used in various designs. Among others Laser power, the possibility of pulsing, the beam quality, the possibility of scanner operation, ongoing operating costs and in particular the removal rate and material damage in the substrate are preferred as the selection criteria. In a particularly preferred embodiment, a solid-state laser, preferably an NdYag laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm or with frequency doubling (corresponding to a green laser color) can be provided. The laser radiation is preferably directed onto the object via a scanner system. This makes it possible to achieve a high material removal in the focus in a comparatively simple manner and to achieve a surface heating outside of the focus. Of course, alternatively, a combination of ablating laser and "classic" CO 2 separation laser with 1.06 µm is also conceivable and if necessary. more economical. A laser power between 10 and 100 W, preferably of about 30 W, is advantageously provided.
When the laser beam is guided, its point of impact on the glass element and / or its focal point is preferably guided in a suitable manner. In the context of the control, the focus position is preferably used as a parameter for calculation in CNC data, since this is usually easy to describe. The focus position can also be deliberately in, under or above the material in order to obtain surface processing by the laser light.
The advantages achieved by the invention consist in particular in the fact that the use of an ablation laser as a separating laser in the process of laser filament cutting, i.e. the substitution of the CO 2 laser separation cut by a combined ablation step, in a combined processing step, means the processing (in particular "Disarming") of the separating edge can be carried out simultaneously with the break at the perforation. This can be done by scanning or by path. Furthermore, there is the advantage that the ablation trench positively controls the propagation of the crack in the glass material, since the path is predetermined. Deviations from the target contour are therefore less likely because the crack follows the fracture kinematics and chooses the path of least resistance: the ablation recess. This means that increased precision and accuracy in the shape of the separating pieces, that is to say when the intended cutting lines are observed, can also be achieved.
An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to a drawing. The figure shows schematically a cutting system for cutting glass elements.

With such an arrangement, further variants of the process control, which are considered to be particularly preferred, are possible, an integrated process control with processing of the separating edge occurring during the separation or separation being provided in each case. This enables a fully automated and therefore efficient process control in a particularly simple manner, with subsequent separate processing of the separating edges not being necessary.
- - Filamentierung, also Einbringung der Filament-Perforation
- - Creation of a "lower" rounding or chamfer by ablating with a laser through the glass. In particular, it is possible to process the “lower” side as desired with a laser arranged on the “upper” side. With a suitable wavelength and an acceptably small absorption of the substrate, the opposite side of the substrate can also be ablated using a suitably adapted technique. A well-known example of this is drilling with a green laser on the material side facing away from the laser. The laser is preferably arranged above the substrate, and the removed material falls out of the borehole due to gravitation (possibly supported by suction).
- - Filamentation, i.e. introduction of the filament perforation
10th through the perforation laser4th - - Creation of an "upper" rounding or chamfer by ablation, possibly in such a way that this also causes the break along the perforation
10th he follows - - Possibly. and if necessary, mechanical or thermal separation, for example using a CO 2 laser
