Description
The present invention relates to an exposure method in which a layer of building material with at least two lasers (in each case in regions) is exposed by means of selective laser melting. The invention also relates to a production method for producing a component by means of selective laser melting, which comprises exposing two layers of building material each with at least two lasers. The invention further relates to a device for carrying out an exposure method or a production method.
Selective laser melting is a process in which a build-up material is usually applied as a powder in succession in layers on a base plate and melted by means of laser radiation. For this purpose, a laser beam is guided along scanning paths.
For larger components, multiple lasers can be used at least partially simultaneously. This saves time and money and reduces manufacturing costs.
There are different concepts for such a multi-laser exposure: One possibility here is the separate processing of different areas by individual lasers. Between the individual regions, in each of which only one laser can work, there are usually overlapping areas, which can each be achieved by several lasers. The irradiation of the overlapping areas with different lasers enables the generation of a particularly isotropic material and ensures a firm connection of the individually generated areas to each other.

The present invention has for its object to provide an improved technique of selective laser melting.
The object is achieved by an exposure method for exposing a layer of build material with at least two lasers according to
An exposure method according to the invention serves to expose a layer of build-up material, for example for the production, coating and / or repair of a component by means of selective laser melting. For this purpose, at least two lasers are used, each of which irradiates an area assigned to it (the layer) along a (continuous) scanning path or along several (separate) scanning paths; Thus, building material of the layer is gradually melted in the entire respective area, to then harden on cooling and thus form a solid layer. In the case of multiple scanning paths, the respective laser can be deflected for example between two of the scanning paths and be hidden or switched off. Preferably, the at least two lasers irradiate their respective assigned area at least temporarily simultaneously.
According to the invention, at least two of the regions are separated from one another by a boundary edge (ie in particular adjacent to one another) and interlocked. The boundary edge thus has several changes of direction or curvatures in different directions through which a plurality of toothings are formed, in which the two regions intermesh , The gears are preferably in an overlap region that each of the two lasers can irradiate.
The gears between the areas allow for greater stability of each machined component layer in the transition region and thus an improvement in quality.
A production method according to the invention serves to produce a component by means of selective laser melting. It comprises exposing a first layer of building material with at least two lasers according to an inventive exposure method (according to one of the embodiments disclosed herein) and exposing a second layer of building material with the at least two lasers according to an inventive exposure method (according to one of the disclosed in this document embodiments). The areas assigned to the lasers for the exposure of the first layer have different toothings than the areas assigned to the lasers for the exposure of the second layer. In particular, a boundary edge between two areas, which are each assigned to a laser for exposure of the first layer, different from (ie, coincident with) a boundary edge between two same two lasers for exposing the second layer associated areas.
In this way, a three-dimensional tooth structure is created between the regions irradiated by different lasers, which enables a particularly high strength of the manufactured component. In particular, a varying separation zone is generated by the different exposure strategy for the first and the second layer, and potential errors in generating one layer can be compensated for by the other layer.
Preferably, the first and the second layer are directly on or over each other.
An embodiment of a production method according to the invention is advantageous in which at least one of the lasers irradiates the region assigned to it for exposure of the second layer along second scanning paths whose directions rotate relative to first scanning paths along which the laser irradiates the region assigned to it for exposure of the first layer are. A corresponding rotation angle may preferably be between 50 ° and 85 ° or between 275 ° and 310 °, more preferably between 60 ° and 75 ° or between 285 ° and 300 °.
The manufacturing method may further comprise exposing a third layer of build material. The regions assigned to the lasers for the exposure of the third layer preferably have different toothings than the regions assigned to the lasers for the exposure of the first layer and those assigned to the lasers for the exposure of the second layer. In this way, the three-dimensional tooth structure is further improved and the generation of possible break edges in the component is efficiently avoided.
According to an advantageous embodiment of an exposure method according to the invention, at least one of the lasers irradiates at least part of its associated area along at least one scanning path having a plurality of sections in each of which a distance to the boundary edge (or to a portion of the boundary edge) remains constant: Each point of such a section then has the same distance to the boundary edge (or to the section). In the case of straight sections of the scanning path, for example, they run parallel to a section of the boundary edge. Preferably, the sections each have a length that is greater than a predetermined minimum length; Particularly preferred is a variant in which the sections are all substantially the same length.
Alternatively or additionally, at least one of the lasers can irradiate at least a portion of its associated area along a plurality of scanning paths in succession, wherein in each of the scanning paths a distance to the boundary edge remains constant in each case. In the case of straight scan paths, for example, they run parallel to a section of the boundary edge. For example, between the scan paths the laser can be switched off or hidden and directed to the next scan path. Preferably, the scan paths of the plurality each have a length that is greater than a predetermined minimum length; Particularly preferred is an embodiment in which the scanning paths of the plurality are all substantially the same length.
In this way, in particular the toothings of the regions along scanning paths or sections of scanning paths can be scanned, each having a predetermined minimum length, which implies a Mindestabtastdauer for each scanning path. Since adjacent scanning paths are preferably scanned one after the other, overheating of regions in which a plurality of scanning paths lie close to one another can be avoided without the construction time having to be extended by waiting times. Such overheating could generate disadvantageous inhomogeneities in the structure of the component.
The toothings, in which the at least two regions engage with one another, can be in particular serrated; The boundary edge which separates the at least two regions from one another can thus form in particular a plurality of teeth. Particularly preferred is an embodiment in which adjacent straight sections the boundary edge alternately an angle of 90 ° and 270 ° (the boundary edge following measured in mathematically positive direction) include.
According to an advantageous embodiment of an exposure method according to the invention, the at least two lasers successively irradiate the respective region in a plurality of parallel stripes, each of which is formed by one or more scan paths scanned in succession. Preferably, the scanning paths or a plurality of sections of a section track run perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the strips (ie to a longer side length of the strips); the longitudinal direction preferably corresponds to a feed direction of the laser, for example from one scanning path to the next or from one section of the scanning path to the next section.
Particularly preferred is a variant in which the at least two lasers each irradiate their respective area in such strips, the longitudinal directions of the strips in the at least two areas corresponding to one another. Preferably, the boundary edge extends at least in sections along respective end portions of a plurality of the strips. Thus, the teeth of the areas can be formed by each staggered strips arranged in a simple manner.
In accordance with an advantageous embodiment of a production method according to the invention, the at least two lasers irradiate their respective assigned areas in strips both during the exposure of the first layer and during the exposure of the second layer, ie successively in a plurality of parallel strips, each by one or more scanning paths scanned one after the other be formed. For at least one of the lasers, the strips have a different longitudinal direction when exposing the first layer than the strips when exposing the second layer. In this way, the component to be produced is differently exposed or irradiated in different layers, which enables a particularly good quality of a component to be produced.
The longitudinal directions of stripes when exposing the first layer may be rotated, for example, with respect to the longitudinal directions of stripes when exposing the second layer, for. For example, an angle (measured in the mathematically positive direction) which is between 50 ° and 85 ° or between 275 ° and 310 °; According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the angle is between 60 ° and 75 ° or between 285 ° and 300 ° (each including the boundary values).
According to an advantageous variant of an exposure method according to the invention, a gas is passed along the layer in at least one main flow direction. At least one of the regions is preferably scanned at least in sections in one direction along a scanning path which runs counter to the at least one main flow direction, ie has an angle (measured in mathematically positive direction) to the main flow direction, which lies between 90 ° and 270 °; Preferably, the angle is between 120 ° and 240 ° or even between 150 ° and 210 °; particularly preferred is an angle between 175 ° and 185 °.
This embodiment is particularly advantageous in combination with a stripe-wise exposure (as described in particular above). The strips can each be assigned to exactly one main flow direction, so that a feed direction in the strip at least partially counteracts the main flow direction (for example, an angle in the range of 180 ° +/- 45 °, in the range of 180 ° +/- 30 to the main flow direction °, in the range of 180 ° +/- 15 ° or even in the range of 180 ° +/- 5 ° In particular, different layers can be exposed against different main flow directions, which can be set up accordingly by means of one or more suction devices Particularly good quality of a manufactured component can be achieved.
Particularly advantageous is an embodiment in which gas is conducted along the layer in several main flow directions, for example by directing gas from above onto the layer and then deflecting it into the different main flow directions.
An embodiment of an exposure method according to the invention in which the scanning paths or sections of each individual laser run parallel to one another is advantageous.
Abschnitte der (verschiedenen) Laser parallel zueinander, also entlang zueinander paralleler Geraden verlaufen.Alternatively or additionally, at least a portion of a scan path of a first one of the lasers may be parallel to at least a portion of a scan path of a second one of the lasers; Particularly preferred is a variant in which each of the at least two lasers irradiates their assigned area in each case along a plurality of scanning paths or a plurality of sections of a respective scanning path, wherein the scanning paths or sections of (different) laser parallel to each other, ie along each other parallel straight lines.
A device according to the invention comprises at least two lasers and one Control device for controlling the laser. It is set up to automatically carry out an exposure method according to the invention and / or a production method according to the invention in accordance with one of the embodiments disclosed in this document. In particular, the device can be used for coating, for repairing and / or for producing a component.
The (possibly up to the sign) corresponding scanning directions enable a particularly low error-prone irradiation and in a simple manner an orientation against one or more main flow directions of a possibly generated gas stream as explained above.
