Description
The present invention relates to a method and a device for imaging an object by means of shadows. In particular, the invention relates to the field of two-dimensional metrological determination of objects, in particular by means of a profile projector. In this technical field, in particular shape features of workpieces such as angles and / or dimensions with respect to two linearly independent coordinate axes are determined. In contrast to a three-dimensional metrological determination, therefore, only a two-dimensional metrological determination takes place. Typical measuring objects for profile projectors are flat components such as seals, saw blades or gears.
Classic analog profile projectors have since been replaced by digital profile projectors. These typically have: a lighting device, an imaging device with an imaging optics and a camera, a support surface or contact surface for placement of the workpiece to be measured and an evaluation device, for example with a computer, a screen, input devices and evaluation software.
In particular, in the determination of edges of a measurement object by means of optical sensors, the measurement object can be illuminated in transmitted light and / or incident light and a corresponding image can be taken. When illuminated with transmitted light, the object shadows a portion of the imaging surface. Thus, the rear side of an object to be measured is illuminated and in the front image of the object on an image capture device, for example a camera chip, the light-dark transition is related to the position of the edge of the object. By calibrating the imaging optics used, a dimensional relationship between the image of the object and the object can be established. The image of the object can thus be used for dimensional measurement, in particular for measuring coordinates of the object. The basic prerequisite is that the shadow cast of the object or the image of the shadow cast actually corresponds to the profile of the test object.
For this reason, high demands are placed on the optical components and the illumination system of metrological systems. Ideally, the lighting is adapted to the imaging system for the best possible results.
For metrological purposes, typically a telecentric imaging optic is used. Ideally, the illumination optics is a telecentric optics. However, lighting systems with telecentric optics are complex, cost-intensive and require large installation space.
Kanten. In
An object of the invention is to provide a method and a device for imaging an object by means of shadow, which allows for non-parallel, diffused lighting precise edge determination.
An object to be imaged may be positioned "within" the light emitting surface as viewed by the image capture device, i. The light emitted from the rear side of the object in the direction of the image capture device can pass through all sections of the outer contour of the object, so that the contour can already be determined from a single image of the image capture device.
Mentioned lighting elements can be individually controlled in a variant and switched on or off. As a result, structured illumination can be obtained in one or more selected areas.
In another variant of the light-generating device, the light-emitting surface can be combined in one or more regions with a filter, which is / are arranged behind the light-emitting surface, in particular in the direction of radiation. In particular, the filter can be composed of individually controllable elements whose light transmittance can be changed with respect to the total radiation flux density in all spectral regions of the light and / or for at least one spectral component of the light. A light emitting surface can be composed in this variant of lighting elements that are not individually to control or switch, since a structured lighting can be achieved with the help of the additional existing filter device. However, it is also possible to use a light source whose luminous elements can be controlled individually or in groups for generating a distribution of the radiation flux density and / or the spectral composition of the light, and in addition to use a filter which is individually controllable in areas. The individual controllability of the regions means that individual elements of the filter, which are made up of the total area of the filter, can be controlled individually or in groups in order to adjust the filtering effect of the filter. The filtering effect may, as mentioned, be to reduce the total radiation flux density of the radiation incident on the element or group of elements of the filter from the light source, which corresponds to darkening, or to alter the spectral composition of the incident radiation, for example certain spectral components filter out or partially filter out. The same filter may also be suitable to fulfill one or the other filter function depending on the setting. It is also possible that individual areas of the filter cause a darkening at a certain time, while other areas of the filter eliminate or reduce spectral components.
Overall, the light emitting surface is composed of light elements that are individually or in groups controllable, and / or is the Radiation flux density and / or the spectral composition of the light emitted from the light emitting surface in the direction of the object space, by a arranged between the light emitting surface and the object space in areas individually controllable filter changeable, so that a spatial distribution of the radiation flux density and / or the spectral composition of Light is adjustable.
The smaller the dimensions of the individually controllable regions or elements, the finer the resolved flux density distributions can be generated and the more accurately the position of the edge or the course of the edge of the object can be determined.
Optionally, in addition to the filter, the radiation flux density of radiation of the light source can be individually reduced, in particular, by using a device. The device may be a darkening device between the light source and a plane extending transversely to the direction of radiation through the object. It can be arranged between the light source and the filter or between the filter and the object space.
In particular, a device which is formed from a matrix of individually controllable elements, whose light transmittance, in the case of the filter whose spectral translucency, can be set individually, is used in particular as a dimming device and / or filter. In particular, a diaphragm can thus be created in addition to the light emitting surface whose opening can be adjusted in shape and size. The shape and size of the aperture corresponds to a desired area of the light emitting surface from which light for generating the image is to be emitted, while other areas are darkened. Alternatively or additionally, the distribution of the spectral composition of the light, which can also be referred to as a spectral flux density distribution, can be adjusted by controlling the matrix elements of the filter.
A partial obscuration can darken areas of the light source that are not needed to show a shadow cast. As a result, reflections and diffuse incident light can be suppressed, which can adversely affect a measurement result. As will be described in more detail, by adjusting the spectral flux density distribution, additional information regarding the edge position and the edge profile of the object can already be obtained from a single image of the object. In this case, the knowledge about the generated spectral flux density distribution in the evaluation of the image for determining the edge position and / or the edge course can be taken into account.
- a) Bereitstellen einer Vorrichtung, aufweisend

- a) providing a device comprising
- a light source having a light emitting surface,
- an object space in which an object to be imaged can be arranged,
- an imaging optics arranged in the beam path of radiation from the light source to the imaging optics after the light emission surface and after the object space,

This method has the advantage that additional information about the edge position and the edge profile in the image and thus also of the object is obtained by the first and the second successively used distribution of the radiation flux density and corresponding detection of the images.

Embodiments of the device will become apparent from the description of embodiment of the method. In particular, the imaging optics of the device may be a telecentric imaging optics. Furthermore, the device may be part of an optical sensor for coordinate measurement. For example, the optical sensor may be attached or attached to a movable arm or quill of a coordinate measuring machine. Furthermore, an evaluation device of the device can be provided, which is designed to carry out one of the embodiments of the evaluation described in this description.
More specifically, in the case of multiple images, each of the plural images taken in step c) contains image information from all the photosensitive elements located in a receiving area of a light-receiving surface of the image-detecting device. In particular, the reception range is the maximum possible reception range of the image capture device, that is to say all photosensitive elements are used to receive the multiple images. The receiving area receives light from said area of the object space and the adjacent edge of the object, wherein the image information is used to determine a position and / or a course of the edge of the object, in particular a position and / or a course in a coordinate system of the image capture device and / or in a coordinate system of the object. In particular, an evaluation device of the device is designed to use the image information for determining a position and / or a course of the edge of the object.
By having image information of all photosensitive elements in each of the plurality of images, all available information can be used and is also used to determine the edges or edges of the object. However, this use implies that as will be described, portions of the image information pertaining to reflected radiation may be eliminated and / or disregarded. By using illumination patterns with dark localized areas of radiation distribution However, not only to the patterns corresponding areas of the light-receiving surface of the image capture device are used, but more information is available for the evaluation.
From different images of the object images can be generated, each of which capture one of the images. Alternatively, however, the image or at least one of the multiple images taken in step c) may be captured during exposure of the object to first spatial distribution light and then to second spatial distribution light, such that the image or the at least one of the plurality of images has image information of both the first image of the object and the second image of the object. The image information can then be used (in particular by an evaluation device of the device) to determine a position and / or a course of the edge of the object, in particular a position and / or a course in a coordinate system of the image capture device and / or in a coordinate system of the object.
In the case of monochromatic radiation or in the case of polychromatic radiation whose spectral composition is not detected by the image capture device, only the total radiation intensity per photosensitive element is detected by the image capture device and if the spatial distribution of the radiation flux density is varied over time Accordingly, the reflection of radiation at the edge of the object in the various images of the object. Taking into account the knowledge about the generated spatial distributions of the radiation flux density, therefore, the radiation reflected from the edge region of the object can be assigned to regions of the radiation incident into the object space far away from the edge and / or the radiation passing into the imaging optical system close to the edge Object dream invade radiation near the edge.
In particular, therefore, an evaluation of the image taken by the image capture device or the multiple images taken by the image capture device can proceed as follows, and not only in the case of detecting only the total radiation intensity per photosensitive element from the image capture device: Taking into account knowledge about the generated first local distribution of the radiation flux density and the generated second spatial distribution of the radiation flux density, a radiation reflected from an edge region of the object can be assigned to regions of the radiation incident in the object space at a first distance to the edge of the object and / or can be at an edge of the object Object passing radiation in the imaging optics areas of incident in the object dream radiation is assigned at a second distance to the edge of the object. In particular, the first and second distances to the edge of the object may differ. In this case, for example, the first distance is greater than the second distance.
In a simple embodiment of this principle, for example, the first local distribution of the radiation flux density can be configured such that the radiation flux density of the radiation incident in the object space increases with increasing distance to the edge of the object, at least in a local subarea lying next to the edge of the object , especially steadily increasing. In this embodiment, the second local distribution of the radiation flux density is then configured such that the radiation flux density of the radiation incident in the object space decreases, in particular decreases steadily, with increasing distance to the edge of the object, at least in the local subarea lying next to the edge of the object. Taking into account the knowledge about the first and the second distribution of the radiation flux density, it is possible to conclude radiation contributions in the recorded image or in the recorded images, which reflect radiation reflected by the object. If, for example, in the image area corresponding to a projection (ie image without reflection on the object) of the local subarea adjacent to the edge of the object, the intensity trajectory captured in the image does not represent the steady increase in the radiant flux density with increasing distance to the edge or not the steady decrease of the Radiation flux density corresponds to decreasing edge, radiation components attributable to radiation reflection at the object can be easily determined and corrected.
It is possible to apply methods known per se from the field of three-dimensional metrological determination of object surfaces accordingly. These include, for example, methods of irradiating the object with a local radiation distribution whose radiation intensity varies periodically, for example sinusoidally, in particular in a direction transverse to the edge profile. Cosine is also understood to be sinusoidal since a cosine function and a sine function differ only by phase. Sinusoidal and cosinusoidal is also understood to mean a function of the radiation intensity from the location containing a cosine function or a sine function. An example is still given. In order to detect also edge sections which run in other directions, further local radiation distributions can be used and in each case a picture of the corresponding picture can be detected, wherein the direction of the periodic variation of the radiation intensity is transverse to the other directional known portion. It is also not absolutely necessary for the radiation intensity to run periodically in one direction, in particular one direction transverse to the edge profile. It can also fluctuate in other ways. In all cases, however, the knowledge about the local radiation distribution, ie the local distribution of the radiation flux density, is used in the evaluation of the edge position and / or the edge profile. The local distribution is understood in particular to be the spatial distribution in a plane that runs transversely to the propagation direction of the radiation on the path of the radiation from the light source to the object space. For example, the plane may be a cross-sectional plane of the object whose edges are to be determined.
In particular, the images (or the corresponding image information of the images) corresponding to the various images for the determination of the object edges from the spatial space (signal as a function of the location on the image surface) can be transformed into the frequency domain, in particular by Fourier transformation. In the frequency space, the image information can be edited. However, it is also possible to perform a processing of the image information in the frequency space corresponding processing in the spatial space. For one or more of the images, for each of which an image has been taken, in particular a local radiation distribution can be used whose radiation intensity depends sinusoidally on the location (in a plane or area at the entrance to the object space) and can also be used for one or more of the Figures a local radiation distribution can be used, the radiation intensity cosinus depends on the location. To determine the object edges, it is possible to form a complex illumination function from the sinusoidal radiation distribution and the cosinusoidal radiation distribution, which results in a delta function transformed into the frequency domain. In frequency space, the result of the images can now be modeled by applying the illumination function to the scene (i.e., the object illuminated with the illumination) in a simple manner as a mathematical convolution of the scene with the illumination function. A mathematical convolution by means of a delta function only leads to a frequency shift in the frequency domain. Therefore, illumination with both sinusoidal and cosinusoidal radiation intensity in the frequency domain leads to a frequency shift. By this combination of illumination image information from the images is obtained with little effort, which corresponds to an increase of the cut-off frequency by up to a factor of two. The cut-off frequency is the frequency of the smallest object structures that can be detected directly from the images of the image capture device, transformed into the frequency space due to the imaging and the local resolution of the image capture device. By illuminating with both sinusoidally and cosinusively varying radiation flux density structures of the scene and thus of the object can be resolved, which lie in the frequency space beyond the cutoff frequency when transformed. The resolution enhancement acts in the direction viewed in a cross-sectional plane through the object space in which the radiation flux density is varied both sinusoidally and cosinusoidally. Therefore, a change in this direction, that is, with a corresponding variation of the radiation flux density distribution, also in other directions of the cross-sectional plane, a resolution improvement can be effected. Preferably, therefore, radiation flux density distributions are used that vary both sinusoidally and cosinusoidally in at least two different directions (for example, directions perpendicular to each other).
More generally, with a plurality of radiation flux density distributions in which the radiation flux density varies sinusoidally and / or cosinusoidally as a function of the location in a cross-sectional plane transverse to the course of the radiation through the object space, an image is respectively generated and an image is acquired by the image capture device, wherein a spatial resolution of structures of the imaged object is increased by a transformation of location-dependent image information obtained from the acquired images into a frequency space, a processing of the image information in the frequency space (in particular a shift of the image information to another frequency range) and a back transformation into a spatial space. The processing of the image information with the result that the frequency dependency of the image information is changed (in particular corresponding to a shift of the image information to another frequency range) may alternatively take place in the spatial domain. In particular, a complex illumination function, which corresponds to the image information transformed into the frequency domain, can be calculated directly from the image information obtained in the spatial domain. In both cases, location-dependent image information can be combined with one another in different directions of the sinusoidally and / or cosinusively varying illumination. This allows for resolution enhancement not just in one direction.
In particular, images may be acquired from at least two different spatial distributions of the radiation flux density and / or the spectral composition and a respective shadow cast of the object, i. At least two different imaging of the object are detected, information about which part of the light has passed directly through the imaging optics to the image capture device without reflection on the object and which part of the light is indirect, with or at least one reflection on the object , has passed through the imaging optics to the image capture device. In particular, each image of the object can be captured by a separate image. It is preferred not to determine this information from only two images, but from a plurality of images. In practice, for example, 100 different illumination patterns may be generated and one image generated using one of the illumination patterns.
- - emanating from a first location or local area (in particular location or local area of the incident radiation in the object space) radiation of different sizes radiant flux density and
- radiation of different size radiant flux density emanating from a second location or local area (in particular location or local area of the radiation incident in the object space) which differs in each of the radiant flux density distributions from the radiation flux density at the first location or in the first local area,
The basic idea of another way of separating reflected and direct radiation is explained by means of an example: The illumination incident on the scene can be subdivided into matrix elements in accordance with a two-dimensional matrix. If now the scene is illuminated in each case on the basis of a single matrix element and the corresponding image is taken, direct and indirect light can be distinguished in a simple manner. For example, it may be decided that light having a light intensity below a predetermined threshold is indirect, reflected light, and vice versa. Because of the high number of images required, this approach is not practical.
Smarter illumination patterns are possible, which also contain information about which light came directly and which light came indirectly to the image capture device. For example, lighting can be done with checkered patterns. In the areas corresponding to the white fields of the chessboard, light is irradiated on the scene, not in the black fields. The size and position of the checkerboard patterns can be varied and a respective illumination pattern can be irradiated onto the scene. A development of checker-like illumination patterns is the subdivision of the light emission surface or the surface at the entrance of the light into the object space in a plurality of block-shaped areas, for example in the blocks of a checkerboard structure. In particular, each of the blocks may be equal in size so that there is an equal number of matrix elements of the entire illumination matrix in each block. Further, each matrix element in each block corresponds to a matrix element in each other block located in the respective block at the same position with respect to a reference point of the block. For example, in each block, a coordinate system may be defined which originates, for example, in the outer corner of the block lying in the block on the left and top as viewed in a plan view of the illumination matrix. For example, the matrix elements in each block may be uniquely defined by a line number and a column number relating to the block. In each block, first mutually corresponding matrix elements can be active, that is to say generate light, and second corresponding matrix elements can be inactive, that is, generate no light, in each case for producing an illumination pattern. In particular, only one single matrix element in each block can be active for generating a respective illumination pattern. In the different illumination patterns, however, a different matrix element is active in each block. This has the advantage that the active matrix elements in all illumination patterns are at a distance from each other that is as large as the one Diagonal through a block. Therefore, radiation emanating from the matrix elements, which is reflected at the measurement object, can be well distinguished from direct radiation.
With the aid of suitable mathematical methods, in particular model calculations, the entire process of the transmission of the light from the illumination device to the image capture device can be calculated with suitable illumination patterns, that is, in particular, modeled. Mathematically, therefore, it is also possible to speak of a transmission and in particular of a transmission function. In the model calculation, the actual light transmission is calculated only approximately correct, but gives information about the separation of direct and indirect transmission.
In general terms, by evaluating a plurality of images taken in step c) and corresponding to at least the first and second spatial distribution of the radiation flux density to produce at least the first and second images of the object, indirectly transmitted light is transmitted via at least one reflection has been transmitted to the object from the illumination device to the image capture device, determined and at least partially removed from the at least indirectly transmitted light image information from at least one of the plurality of images or the entire image information and / or not or only partially taken into account in a determination of an edge or a shape of the object , In particular, the prior knowledge, that is to say the knowledge, is used via the respectively used illumination pattern.
Previously, methods and devices have been described in which the object is irradiated with light of a first and a second spatial distribution of the radiation flux density and / or the spectral composition for generating a respective image of the object. Although the spectral composition of the light can vary. This is not necessary. Information about the occurring reflections of light is obtained by distributing the distributions of the radiation flux density and / or the spectral composition of the light in at least one region of the object space which is adjacent to an edge of the object and without shading by the object from the light direction Imaging optics is irradiated, distinguish.
The following is a solution based on the same basic principle of obtaining this information, but can get along with a single image in which a single, timely illumination of the scene can take place. However, this does not exclude that a temporally not constant illumination of the scene takes place and correspondingly more than one image of the object is generated. As a result, the information content can be increased.
The solution is based on the idea that the illumination contains radiation with different spectral components. At least two different spectral components are present, that is to say the total radiation is composed of at least one radiation component having a first wavelength and a radiation component having a second wavelength. It is also possible for the total radiation to contain at least one radiation component which has radiation of any wavelength of the range within a wavelength range. However, the wavelength varies depending on the location, ie, at least two different locations of the radiation distribution in the entrance surface of the object space, the spectral composition of the radiation is different. For example, at a first location, radiation having a first wavelength (or Radiation in a first wavelength range with different wavelengths) enter the object space and at a second location radiation of a second wavelength (or radiation in a second wavelength range with different wavelengths) enter the object space. Therefore, a spectral composition is also understood to mean that exclusively radiation of a specific wavelength propagates at the respective location. Alternatively or additionally, the wavelength can change continuously with the location of entry into the object space, ie at least in a partial area of the entrance area, as can be achieved, for example, in the fanning out of white light by means of a prism. However, the spectral radiation distribution is generated using a light source having a light emitting surface composed of light emitting elements, and / or the spectral radiation distribution is adjusted by a locally individually controllable filter.
In this sense, the spectral composition of the incident in the object dream radiation changes in a direction of the entrance surface of the object space, which runs transversely to the course of an edge of the object to be imaged. This ensures that radiation of different spectral composition, if any reflection takes place, is reflected at different locations of the object in the direction of the image capture device. Since, in the case of a single reflection on the object, a direction reversal in the mirror image is effected in a manner similar to a mirror with respect to an axis, it can be recognized from the local profile of the spectral composition of the reflected radiation that it is reflected radiation. When distinguishing between radiation reflected by the object and radiation not reflected by the object, the effect of reversing the direction of the spectral composition of the light need not be taken into account. In particular, radiation reflected at the object can also be determined by ascertaining, with knowledge of the local spectral distribution of the light at the point of entry into the object space, that wavelength or frequency of the light which enters the object space immediately adjacent to the edge of the object. If light of another wavelength or frequency is detected in the image in the image of the edge, this light can be detected as reflected light.
In particular, the reflected radiation thus detected can be eliminated from the image and / or not used for the determination of the edge course of the object.

- c) taking at least one image by the image capture device, wherein with the image light corresponding to the spectral composition and a corresponding shadow of the object are detected so that the image of the object is detected by the image.

If the object has a plurality of edge portions which extend in different directions, the spectral composition of the light preferably changes in each area of the object space which is adjacent to an edge of the object and which is irradiated without shading by the object from the light to the imaging optics , with increasing distance to the edge. This means that in different areas of the radiation distribution there are different directions in which the spectral composition of the light changes. The radiation distribution can therefore be adapted to the concrete object to be measured. For example, by prior knowledge of the shape and position of the object, a radiation distribution adapted to the object can be generated. Alternatively or additionally, by evaluating a first image, the shape and position of the object in the object space can be determined and from this the radiation distribution adapted to the object can be determined.
Optionally, the spectral radiation distribution may be generated by various successively applied illuminations. For example, first light may be illuminated with light of a first wavelength and then illuminated with light of a second wavelength, wherein the light of the first wavelength is irradiated closer to the edge of the object in the direction of imaging optics than the light of the second wavelength. These different images can be captured by a single image or one image at a time. This procedure can be applied correspondingly with light of more than two wavelengths, that is, in each case irradiated with light of one wavelength. It is also possible to use not only light of a single wavelength in the first and / or second and / or further illumination. The different illuminations only have to complement each other to the desired spectral radiation distribution. Not only in the case of the aforementioned spectral radiation distributions, different illuminations of the object can be made so fast one behind the other that persons in the area of the device can not perceive the change of the illumination or only with high attention. The change of lighting is therefore not disturbing.
In all cases of determining the edge or edge or edges of the object mentioned in this description, a reconstruction of the object can take place from the recorded image or images, i. the shape of the object is determined from this.
Alternatively or in addition to the methods described above, the light source can be used as an optical display device (in particular in the form of a screen) before, during and / or after the object is arranged in the object space. In this case, the light source can be controlled, for example, by the control device of the device that the illustrated Information on the entrance surface of the object space is recognizable. For example, at the entrance of the object space there may be a transparent support for carrying and / or applying the object, which passes the radiation generated for displaying the information to be displayed optically and how the surface of a screen acts. In order to display the information to be displayed, the filter described above, if present, can also be used in combination with the light source.
In particular, the display device (light source optionally in combination with the filter) can be used as a positioning aid and / or for the display of evaluation results (in particular measurement results) from the use of the projection device. For example, for known workpieces (objects) in an inspection plan an optimal and / or predetermined location for the positioning of the object may be known and displayed by means of the display device, so that the user can position the workpiece there. For example, a frame may be displayed within which the object is to be positioned in plan view of the object. After the detection of the object by means of the projection device, measurement results, such as an elevated roundness plot, can be displayed and in this way optically linked to the workpiece. RGB (red-green-blue) lighting also makes it possible, for workpieces in which shape deviations are known due to manufacturing tolerances, to visually discern areas outside a specification, for example one, by means of a colored display display have great shape deviation.
Hereinafter, the illumination for the purpose of imaging the object by means of the projection device is referred to as a measurement image, and the illumination for the purpose of displaying information is referred to as a live image.
For example, an automatic switching of the illumination between live image and measurement image can be made possible by the fact that the image captured by the image recording device is in each case compared with a preceding image. If a change in the image is detected, it is switched to live image. Optionally, the live image additionally visualizes an interactive user help. For example, with a dormant object in the object space, an optimized lighting setup can be displayed.
In particular, as e.g. for tablet PCs and smartphones, the display can be configured as an interaction device that allows the user to interact. For this purpose, the light source can be designed as a touch-sensitive screen, optionally a transparent object that serves as a support and / or contact surface for the object at the edge of the object space can be touched by the user and the location of this contact can be detected. For example, the user may therefore operate the interactive user help and / or give a command to control the projection device.
Alternatively or additionally, the presence of an object can be determined by means of a touch-sensitive screen. As soon as the object is placed on or near the touch-sensitive screen, the sensor technology of the screen is activated and signals from the sensors are generated from which the presence can be detected. In particular, therefore, the switching of the lighting by pressing (by a person and / or by the presence of the object) a sensor of the display device can be triggered.
In particular, it is also possible for a sensor system of the light source, in particular the sensor system of a touch-sensitive screen, to generate signals which signal the presence of an object to be measured at or in the vicinity of the display device, an outer contour of the object is determined from the signals and an illumination pattern (In particular, a light strip) is generated according to the outer contour of the object.
It has already been mentioned above that the light source can have a plurality of luminous elements. In contrast to a projection arrangement in which the light source is separated from the object space via a telecentric illumination optics, more heat is produced in the case of flat light sources in the vicinity of the object space. This is especially true for light sources such as light sources for screens that produce diffuse radiation. Only the part of the generated radiation emitted in the direction of the imaging optics can be used. A significant portion of the generated radiation can not be used for imaging, but it also generates heat.
It is therefore proposed to thermally decouple the light source from the object space. For this purpose, in particular at least one additional filter (as described above) can be arranged between the light source and the object space, in particular a darkening device. Alternatively or additionally, the light source can be optically coupled to the object space via a reflector (for example a mirror), so that the radiation generated by the light source is radiated onto the reflector, from which the reflector is reflected and the reflected radiation image into the object space is irradiated. In this way, a spatial decoupling of object space and light source is possible. Alternatively or in addition to a thermal decoupling, a cooling of the light source can be provided. The cooling may be realized passively, for example by allowing a cooling airflow along at least one surface of the light source and / or through the light source. Alternatively or additionally, the cooling may be actively realized by applying coolant (eg a gas such as air and / or Liquid such as water) by a forced flow cooling past the light source and / or passed therethrough.
In any case, the light source is in particular a light source for generating transmitted light, which in the case of a transparent object is passed through the object or, in the case of a shadow, past an object, for example through a transparent slide, and strikes the imaging optics and the image capture device. As mentioned, the light source may have an at least two-dimensional arrangement of a multiplicity of light-emitting elements, in particular light-emitting diodes. From this two-dimensional arrangement of a plurality of light elements light can be radiated surface. The light emitting surface may be formed of a plurality of light elements, as it is z. B. is the case with a screen of LEDs. In the direction of radiation in front of the object space, a transparent plate and / or a filter can be provided.
The object is irradiated from the light source from the viewpoint of the imaging optics from its rear side. The imaging optics is therefore on the front of the object. The terms back and front do not limit the orientation of the object. For example, the same object may be captured as needed by a first image, then flipped over and captured by a second image. In all cases, even if only a single image is detected, light rays are guided past the edge of the object in order to be able to determine the edge or contour of the object. The object space may comprise a slide plate which is translucent, i. is transparent. In the object space, the object to be imaged can be arranged within the light emission area from the viewpoint of the imaging optics.
The imaging optics can have at least one objective which can be formed at least from one lens. The imaging optics is preferably a telecentric imaging optics. The imaging optics is located in the beam path from the light source to the image capture device behind the object space. The arrangement of the elements of the device in the beam path is in particular as follows: light source - two-dimensional filter matrix - object space - imaging optics - image capture device, wherein the light source optionally may have the two-dimensional matrix, for example, if no additional darkening device is present.
In particular, the shadow of the object is imaged on or in the image capture device. The image capture device is preferably an electronic image capture device, in particular a camera, with a plurality (for example a matrix) of photosensitive elements.
The light-emitting surface is a surface in which light-emitting elements are arranged and which is filled by light-emitting elements. The light emission surface is the maximum surface that can be illuminated or emit light or the maximum surface that is used for a first image of the object in preparation for further imaging of the object with modified active light emission surface and / or partial imaging of the light emission surface. In particular, the light-emitting surface may be a plane running in a plane.

In the following step S5, the radiation remaining in the image (that is, the image values corresponding to the radiation) is summed over the color channels, i. It is from image information, which is distinguished by wavelength or frequency, image information generated that no longer contains information about the wavelength or frequency. In other words, in step S5, a gray scale image is generated from the image generated in step S4. Each gray level corresponds to an intensity of the radiation summed over the entire spectral range. This makes it easier to carry out an evaluation, in particular in the case of a plurality of edges or edge regions at which measuring radiation of different wavelengths passes to the camera.
In step S6, the image resulting from the elimination of the scattered radiation is used as the measurement image and is determined from the measurement image where the edge of the object in the projection image, i. in the measurement image. In this way not only a point of the edge in the projection image can be determined, but e.g. the course of an edge portion or the entire contour of the object, i. all edge sections. Furthermore, dimensions can be determined, such as e.g. the width of the object between two opposite edge points.
Specifically, the controller shifts the illumination pattern hitherto generated in step S11 along the said direction by a predetermined shift amount, e.g. may be given as a fraction of the period of the sinusoidal variation, and optionally in a given direction. For example, if the default shift amount is one fiftieth or one hundredth of the period.
If the controller has determined a shifted radiation flux density distribution and this is still to be generated, the process returns to step S11 and a corresponding image of the resulting image is taken by the image capture device in step S12.
However, if no further shifted radiation flux density distributions are to be generated, the execution of step S13 is followed by step S14, in which the process of multiple illumination and image capture is terminated, and e.g. an evaluation of the images obtained can be performed. Exemplary embodiments for the evaluation and / or processing of the obtained image data for preparing an evaluation have already been described.
