A widespread problem in this context is the fact that the corresponding materials often come into contact with personal care products that contain an oily phase in addition to an aqueous phase (care creams and emulsions) or are even based entirely on an oily carrier base (body oils). . In particular, those components of the composite material that consist of elastomeric polymer materials are exposed to additional stress, because, as is well known, the resistance to oily liquids varies greatly with different polymers. Oily liquids (or the oily components of the above-mentioned personal care products) can, on the one hand, diffuse into such a polymer material and thereby have an unfavorable influence on its mechanical properties simply through their presence; On the other hand, interactions between oily liquids and other components (such as dyes, fillers, plasticizers, etc.) of the polymer materials - if such are present - cannot be ruled out. In the worst case scenario, the product made of the composite material is destroyed or loses its favorable properties. For example, reduced tear strength leads to the formation of holes in the polymer materials, which means that the composite material as a whole loses its barrier properties against aqueous liquids.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention
The present invention provides an oil-resistant, flat composite material consisting of a middle layer and at least one outer layer or outer layers arranged above and/or below, the outer layers consisting of materials selected from non-woven fabrics and not are attached to the middle layer by means of a separate adhesive, the middle layer having a single-layer structure, and the middle layer consisting of a polymer mixture which contains at least one thermoplastic elastomer from the group of styrene/isoprene/styrene triblock copolymers (SIS) and further contains at least one polymer selected from the group of olefinic polymers, wherein the olefinic polymers are selected from the group of polyethylenes and polypropylenes and copolymers of ethylene and propylene and thermoplastic elastomeric polyolefins (TPOs), and wherein the polymer mixture of the middle layer does not contain any additives Plasticizer(s), in particular mineral oils, and wherein the SIS triblock copolymer of the middle layer contains less than 10% by weight or less than 1% by weight of diblock components.
In one embodiment, the olefinic polymers of the polymer mixture of the middle layer are selected from the group of polyethylenes and polypropylenes produced by metallocene catalysis and copolymers of ethylene and propylene.
In a further embodiment, the olefinic polymer of the polymer blend of the middle layer is a polypropylene or a copolymer of ethylene and propylene.
In a further embodiment, the polymer mixture of the middle layer contains no other polymeric components apart from the SIS triblock copolymers and the olefinic polymers as mentioned above. However, non-polymeric auxiliaries such as fillers, processing aids, waxes, pigments and the like may be present. In a further embodiment, the polymer mixture of the middle layer consists of an SIS triblock copolymer, an olefinic polymer, and possibly one or more of the auxiliary substances mentioned.
In a further embodiment, the material for the outer layers is selected from nonwovens that were bonded using water jet bonding (also called “water-jet bonding”, “water entanglement” or “spunlace”).
In a further embodiment, the material for the outer layers is selected from single-layer nonwovens.
In a further embodiment, the material for the outer layers is selected from the group of single-layer nonwovens, for the production of which a fiber material was chosen that consists of a uniform fiber type. In a further embodiment, the material for the middle layer is selected from the group of single-layer nonwovens, for the production of which a fiber material was chosen that consists of a mixture of different fiber types.
In a further embodiment, the middle layer has a thickness of 100 micrometers or less, or in the range between 20 and 100 micrometers, or in the range between 20 and 70 micrometers, as determined by measurement on a microscope.
In a further embodiment, the composite material consists of two outer layers which are connected to the middle layer, with an outer layer being arranged above and a further outer layer being arranged below the middle layer.
In a further embodiment, the composite material has an elastic capacity, measured using the test method described below, of more than 9 N/100 mm. In a further embodiment, the composite material has an elastic capacity of more than 10 N/100 mm, or more than 11 N/100 mm.
In a further embodiment, the present invention relates to a flat composite material (laminate), consisting of a middle layer and at least one outer layer or outer layers arranged above and/or below, the outer layer(s) being made from materials selected from nonwovens (“Non -woven fabrics"), and are not attached to the middle layer by means of a separate adhesive, the middle layer having a single-layer structure, and the static shear Strength of a connection between an adhesive tape and the fleece layer of the outer layer increases by more than ten times or more than twelve times over an aging time of the connection of fourteen days at 50 ° C.
In a further embodiment, this composite material has an elastic capacity, measured using the test method described below, of more than 9 N/100 mm. In a further embodiment, the composite material has an elastic capacity of more than 10 N/100 mm, or more than 11 N/100 mm.
In a further embodiment, this composite material is oil-resistant. In a further embodiment, the oil resistance test is carried out by clamping a square test section of the composite material measuring 70 by 70 mm on two opposite sides and stretching it to 140 mm by vertical tension, applying a drop of test liquid of 0.030 g in the middle and over the one to be tested Period of time is visually checked for the appearance of holes or cracks, using almond oil or paraffin oil as the test liquid, and the composite material in this test does not show any hole formation within a period of three hours, or four hours, or six hours.
In further embodiments, the middle layer of the oil-resistant composite material has the compositions described above.
The invention further provides a method for producing a composite material according to the invention, which is characterized in that the middle layer is applied or introduced onto or between the outer layer(s) by extrusion lamination. To do this, the falling extrusion film is first brought together between two outer layers in a roll gap. The outer layers can be connected downstream in a connecting unit, which is arranged directly behind the extrusion unit, with the still plastic film over the entire surface by gently pressing them together. Alternatively, it is possible to press the outer layers more strongly into the still plastic film by pressing them together more strongly in selected areas than in the other areas. The pressing can also take place in a separate step while the elastic film is in a plastic state. Subsequently, the composite material can be partially or fully activated by pre-stretching using conventional methods, such as ring rolling or non-contact stretching using a stenter frame or similar.
It has surprisingly been found that a composite material can achieve increased resistance to oily liquids (oil resistance) in that the middle layer consists of a polymer mixture which contains at least one thermoplastic elastomer from the group of styrene/isoprene/styrene triblock copolymers (SIS) and further contains at least one polymer selected from the group of olefinic polymers, wherein the olefinic polymers are selected from the group of polyethylenes and polypropylenes and copolymers of ethylene and propylene and thermoplastic elastomeric polyolefins (TPOs), and wherein the polymer mixture of the middle layer contains no additives Plasticizer(s), in particular mineral oils, and wherein the SIS triblock copolymer of the middle layer contains less than 10% by weight, or less than 1% by weight of diblock components. The content of diblock components can be determined using methods known in the art (such as gel permeation chromatography).
Plasticizers or so-called “plasticizers” are used to make materials softer and more flexible. All plasticizing substances used in the prior art for this purpose and known to those skilled in the art can be understood by the term “plasticizer” in the sense of this description.
These include, among others, poly-alpha-olefins (e.g. amorphous polyalphaolefins), (functionalized) oligomers such as oligobutadiene, isoprenes, liquid nitrile rubbers, liquid terpene resins, vegetable and animal oils and fats, ester plasticizers such as phthalates, adipates, mellitates , phosphorus-containing esters or functionalized acrylates.
The group of plasticizers also includes mineral oils, which can be paraffinic, aromatic or naphthenic. A subtype of these mineral oils are called paraffin oils or white oils (e.g. Catenex S or T from Shell). Some of these are technical white oils that are rarely or only hydrogenated once and may still contain traces of aromatic hydrocarbon compounds (e.g. Flavex from Shell).
Another part is made up of medicinal white oils, which are highly purified, i.e. multiply refined, paraffin oils without residues such as aromatic hydrocarbons and sulfur compounds (e.g. Risella X or Ondina X from Shell). White oils are therefore preferably used in products that must have high levels of purity without contamination from substances that are harmful to health such as aromatic hydrocarbons etc., such as in the cosmetics or hygiene industries.
It was also surprisingly found that the absence of such a plasticizer in the middle layer increases the stability of the connection of a composite material according to the invention with an adhesive tape coated with adhesive. Such connections using adhesive adhesives or adhesive tapes are relevant in practice. For example, in the case of the hygiene articles already mentioned in the introduction, the closure, which fastens and holds the article in the carrying position, is often effected by such a connection - adhesive tape directly on the fleece layer of the composite material. It is advantageous if such a connection is not released prematurely, as this leads to a loss of comfort or even makes it necessary to change the hygiene article prematurely. Without wishing to be tied to a theoretical explanation, it can be assumed that in the case of plasticizer-containing (and especially mineral oil-containing) middle layers in the composite materials, the plasticizer diffuses into the adhesive layer of the adhesive tape, which can adversely change the adhesive properties of the adhesive. Such diffusion cannot take place in the composite materials according to the invention because no plasticizer is present.
In one embodiment, the composite material is characterized in that the static shear strength of a corresponding connection between an adhesive tape and the nonwoven layer increases by more than ten times over an aging time of the connection of fourteen days at 50 ° C, as detailed in the test described below, or increases more than twelvefold.
Ullmann, loc. cit.).In principle, all fiber materials that can be processed into nonwovens, i.e. into a scrim made of staple fibers or continuous fibers, using the known manufacturing processes can be used as textile fiber material for the production of the nonwovens for use in the composite materials according to the invention. The only exceptions to this are mineral fibers and glass fibers. Both natural and semi-synthetic or fully synthetic fibers can be used. Uniform fiber materials as well as mixtures of different fiber materials can also be used. Suitable fiber materials and the criteria for their use are known to those skilled in the art from their general specialist knowledge (cf. Ullmann, loc. cit.).
Examples of suitable fiber materials are fully synthetic fibers, such as polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene, polyester, viscose, polyamide, cotton or wool fibers. In one embodiment, the fibers are made of polypropylene.
Two-component fibers are also known in the field of fleece production, which can give the resulting fleece special properties. A subgroup of these fibers are the two-component fibers made from two synthetic polymers, such as polyester-polyamide, polyester-polypropylene, polyamide 6-poylamide 6.6, and the like. Furthermore, it is known that such two-component fibers can be modified during production so that the two components can be found in precisely defined spatial sections of the fibers (e.g. as core and sheath, as segments, and the like). All such embodiments are basically included in the nonwovens for the production of the composite materials according to the invention.
Nonwovens can also be produced in one or more layers using known processes from the prior art, i.e. the fiber material can be selected differently across the cross section of the nonwoven. Both single-layer and multi-layer nonwovens are included for the production of the composite materials according to the invention.
In one embodiment, the nonwovens represent single-layer nonwovens, that is, the type and composition of the fibers do not change across the cross section of the outer layer.
When producing the nonwovens, various processes can be used to achieve bonding of the fibers to one another or to the carrier material. Mechanical, adhesive and thermal processes are used. In principle, all of these processes are suitable for producing the nonwovens for use in the composite materials according to the invention.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the nonwovens are selected from the group of nonwovens bound by means of water jet bonding (also called “water-jet bonding”, “water entanglement” or “spunlace”), which consist of a fiber web, i.e. from a scrim made of staple fibers , “cardboard fleece” or continuous fibers. This manufacturing process is characterized, among other things, by the fact that it is particularly suitable for obtaining nonwovens with predefined patterns (e.g. hole or screen patterns) depending on the number and arrangement of the water jet nozzles. The fibers are swirled together in the fabric by the penetrating water jets.
Composite materials according to the invention can be produced by the extrusion lamination process known in the prior art, whereby the polymer mixture of the middle layer is introduced as a hot, liquid film onto or between the non-woven layer(s), with the middle layer and the non-woven layer(s) forming during cooling immediately results in a direct connection.
The properties of the composite materials according to the invention are determined using the following test methods.
A square test section of the composite material measuring 70 by 70 mm is clamped into a metal rail on two opposite sides and stretched by 100% by vertical tension, i.e. to a length of 140 mm in the direction of tension. A drop of the test liquid weighing 0.030 g is applied to the center of the tensioned test section using a dropper pipette. The test section is repeatedly visually inspected over a period of three hours. If no mechanical changes (holes, cracks and the like) are found at or around the application site after three hours, the material is considered oil-resistant according to the definition used here.
The oils commonly used in skin care products, almond oil (with the CAS number 90320-37-9, a relative density of 0.916 (20°C), an acid number of ≤ 1.0 mg KOH/g and a peroxide number ≤, are used as standardized test liquids 5) and paraffin oil (from VWR Chemicals with Ref. No. 301440ZK) were used. Oil resistance to one of the two oils is sufficient to define resistance in the sense of this description.

5. Durchführungsbeginn5. Start of implementation
The composite material (e.g. diaper ear material) is cut out in a rectangular shape transversely to the running direction. The adhesive tape (e.g. diaper tape) is glued to silicone paper for cutting and cut out transversely to the direction of travel. The cut must be clean and straight.
After cutting, the adhesive tape is immediately laminated to one end of the composite material. The overlapping area is 16 mm × 25 mm. The test specimen is then rolled over with the rollover device.
The unlaminated part of the adhesive tape is punched in the middle and secured with clips. At the other end of the composite material, both sides are reinforced with an approx. 14mm wide coated Velcro and secured with clips.
6. Verweilzeit vor Prüfungen6. Dwell time before exams
The shear strength is determined for unaged samples without observing a waiting period. For the aging step, they are clamped between two Pertinax discs (100 mm × 260 mm × 8 mm) and for stored at elevated temperature in an oven with a weight load of 2 × 5 kg for the period of time intended for aging.
By default, samples in this test are aged at 50°C for 14 days.
7. Weitere Durchführung7. Further implementation
The finished test specimens are now hung in the shearing furnace using a clamp that is at least the width of the test specimen and loaded with a weight. The loading occurs transversely to the direction of travel of the composite material. It is important that this step is completed quickly, otherwise the shearing furnace will lose too much heat (temperature loss can lead to higher shear values).
The time that elapses from when the weight is attached until the test item falls off is recorded.

The adhesive tape is cut out 25 mm wide, lengthways to the direction of travel, 250 mm long. If the adhesive tape does not have any backing paper, it should be stuck onto silicone paper before cutting. The cut must be clean and straight (do not store on silicone paper!).
The instant adhesive strength is determined without having to wait.
5. Prüfung5. Exam
The cover is removed from the side to be tested and the two ends are clamped into the upper clamp of the testing machine in such a way that a loop is created (the ends of the adhesive tape are covered with paper in the area of the clamps).
This loop must immediately be moved onto the horizontally attached test plate until a contact area of 25mm × 50mm is created (test plate width is 50mm). If the tape does not cover the full width of the test panel, the terminal spacing must be reduced.
As soon as the contact surface has been driven over, the loop is immediately pulled back up.

Beispiel 6: Test auf statische Scherfähigkeit einer Verbindung des Verbundwerkstoffs mit einem AdhäsionsklebebandExample 6: Test for static shear ability of a connection of the composite material with an adhesive tape
In the reference # 129 (unaged and aged) as well as in the unaged V1-5, the tape shears off the laminate (= adhesion break).
In the aged samples # V1-5 (after 14 days) the tape no longer shears off the laminate. Instead, the laminate splits. This means that fleece tears occur on the laminate and the fleece partially splits off from the elastic film. This means that there is no adhesion break between the tape and the composite surface (= fleece), but rather a cohesion break within the laminate. The adhesion to the composite is so high that it is destroyed.
This means that the sample of the composite material #V1-5, whose polymer mixture does not contain any additives of plasticizers, in particular mineral oils, enables a stable bond of the adhesive tape to the composite material that develops over time. This is expressed in the increase in the static shear strength, expressed in the extension of the time until fracture by 15.5 times.
On the other hand, the composite material #129 prevents the adhesive of the tape from forming an intimate bond with the composite material over a certain storage period. (Adhesion rupture occurs). The static shear strength only increases approximately 3.5 times. The cause here is the oil components in the formulation of the polymer mixture of the composite material #129. The oil migrates to the adhesive surface.
