Abstract
So far, the disposal of fiber-reinforced plastics from especially large and thick-walled components, equipment and the like made of glass or carbon fiber reinforced plastics or glass or carbon fiber reinforced plastics contained, without the recovery of fibers or fiber composites used. The new method should make it possible to recover the multi-layered glass or carbon fiber composites as fabric, scrim, embroidery, braids or mats as large as possible to make their recycling, even for the same purpose möglich.Die to be recycled fiber reinforced plastics or parts containing them by means of a Transport device introduced into an airtight thermolysis. There they are first heated at a temperature below that required for the subsequent thermolysis, without supplying air or oxygen, and then heated at temperatures of 350 ° C to 650 ° C with exclusion of oxygen, but at least without supply of oxygen, thermally treated until no volatile substances escape from the decomposition of the plastic matrix via a trigger device more. The remaining fibrous composites are then discharged out of the furnace by means of the transport device. The fiber composites recovered according to this procedure in their used form are i.a. reusable for the same purpose in new components. They are also suitable for other purposes. For this, the usual processing methods for fiber fabrics, fabrics, meshes, embroidery or mats are applicable.
Description
The invention relates to the recovery of glass or carbon fiber composites in particular from large-scale, thick-walled and multilayer glass or carbon fiber reinforced plastics, such as components with greater wall thickness, for example, rotor blades or Pulley parts of wind turbines, machine and car parts and hulls of boats and water tanks or sports equipment, in Form of woven, laid, embroidered or braided filament or mat with random continuous or short fibers for their reuse, also for the same purpose.
The use of fiber-reinforced plastics, which has grown considerably in recent years, leads to increasing pressure for their disposal. For many years, the pyrolysis process has been used for the recycling of various substances, including fiber-reinforced plastics.
Many of the recycling methods currently used require comminution prior to pyrolysis, e.g. on the size of business cards, with the fibers contained crushed with. The parts to be pyrolyzed must not be too large or thick, so that as much as possible matrix material, mostly epoxy, but also polyester, u.a. Vinylester-, and rare phenolic resin decomposed in pyrolysis. At temperatures between 400 ° C and 800 ° C and with the addition of oxygen, the matrix material pyrolyzed as far as possible.
The residual fiber remains are not available for reuse after their single use. For them, there is currently hardly an economically viable use. They are therefore usually then incinerated in waste incineration or a cement plant, which clogs the prescribed filter systems very quickly, which must be replaced frequently. Often the fiber remains are also mixed in road construction.
It is not a matter of recycling, but rather of disposal.
In
For longer components, the pyrolysis device would have to have a corresponding length. Therefore, this is not suitable for larger components or objects.
The invention according to claim 1 is based on the problem to be disposed of in particular from large-area and thick-walled components, devices and the like made of glass or carbon fiber reinforced plastics or glass or carbon fiber reinforced plastics, the multilayer glass or carbon fiber composites as tissue, scrim, To recover embroidery, plaits or mats as large as possible in order to allow their recycling, even for the same purpose.
This problem is solved according to claim 1, characterized in that the parts to be recycled, consisting of glass or carbon fiber reinforced plastics or containing these, by means of a transport device, e.g. a bogie, are placed in an airtight thermolysis, where they first at a temperature below that required for the subsequent thermolysis, without supplying air or oxygen, and then heated at temperatures of 350 ° C to 650 ° C with exclusion of Oxygen, but at least without supply of oxygen, are thermally treated until no volatile substances from the decomposition of the plastic matrix via a trigger device more escape, and the remaining fibers are discharged by means of the transport device from the oven.
If the objects to be processed contain plastics with a high oxygen content, an inert gas must be used during the thermolysis, e.g. Nitrogen, be introduced to displace the oxygen.
For glass fiber reinforced plastics is preferably a temperature range from 350 ° C to 550 ° C, for carbon fiber reinforced plastics preferably from 400 ° C to 650 ° C to choose.
Temperature ranges and time duration of the thermolysis carried out in the batch process depend on the fiber composite present - glass or carbon fiber and the plastic used as a carrier material and the wall thickness of the objects and to be chosen so that only the carrier material is decomposed and carried out in gaseous form.
The volatiles which outgas during the thermolysis, are discharged, collected and advantageously a thermal Afterburning (TNV) supplied in order to use them energetically and at the same time to dispose of environmentally friendly. The hot gas produced in the TNV can be used for heating the thermolysis furnace, whereby the energy balance of the thermolysis process is made favorable. A possibly resulting excess of thermal energy or hot gas can be used, for example, to generate electricity and / or initiate into the heating network.
If the fibers obtained by these methods have undesirable Koksanhaftungen, they are in a subsequent step in the same thermolysis furnace with oxygen at 400 ° C to max. 550 ° C but the temperature must be below that at which the mechanical properties of the resulting fiber composites are impaired.
To ensure a consistent quality, the process parameters holding period, temperature ramps and heating rates, under which the thermolysis takes place with the respective material and wall thicknesses, are determined or checked. These are to be determined by means of samples of the respectively delivered material in a small dedicated test facility prior to the actual thermolysis of the large components.
The obtained fiber scrims, fabrics, braids, stitches or mats are in superimposed layers. These are separately and layered with a binder such as a fine polyester mesh, a molten thermoplastic, or an epoxy based binder which replaces the warp yarns lost during component fabrication or thermolysis. The binder prevents the scrims, fabrics, braids, stitches or mats from disintegrating during lamination prior to lamination.
After the topmost layer has been provided with the binder, it is removed from the multilayer construction and e.g. palletized or wrapped on a coil. This takes place until all layers have been removed.
This step may be done manually or automatically with a large gantry, to which are attached nozzles for applying the binder and textile grippers for dicing the layers.
The fiber composites recovered according to this procedure in their used form are u.a. reusable for the same purpose in new components. They are also suitable for other purposes. For this, the usual processing methods for fiber fabrics, fabrics, braids, embroidery or mats are applicable.
The advantages achieved by the invention are that the glass or carbon fibers made of fiber composite components, especially from large and thick-walled and thus multi-layered components, such as blades of wind turbines, sports equipment, machine and car parts, in the form of woven, laid, embroidered or braids may be recovered from continuous filaments or random or short fiber filaments for reuse.
Only one furnace with one zone is required for the thermolysis of larger parts. For a comminution of the parts to be disposed only on transport or Thermolyseofengröße is required. A simple thermolysis furnace is sufficient. For the thermolysis process no regulation for the supply of air or oxygen is required.
It eliminates the disposal of the fiber composites after only one use. The recovery is compared to the use of new glass or carbon fiber composites much more economical, material-saving and environmentally friendly.
Beispiel 1example 1
The size of the parts to be recycled depends on the one hand on the size of the thermolysis furnace, on the other hand, according to the maximum possible transport size. If necessary, the components must be shredded accordingly.
The components, which may have been shredded, are introduced into the airtight thermolysis furnace using a heat-resistant bogie truck. There they are first heated over the entire length and the wall cross-section. Temperature and time were previously determined in a small reactor with a sample.
Subsequently, depending on the geometry and nature, the material is subjected to the two-stage thermolysis over the predetermined period of time, which is between 300 ° C and 650 ° C over the predetermined period. After decomposition of the plastic matrix, the volatile gas mixture is discharged from the furnace, the remaining fibers are conveyed out of the kiln on the trolley and, depending on the material, cooled uncontrollably in the ambient air or controlled in the reaction chamber. The discharged gas mixture is used after a thermal afterburning as a hot gas for heating the thermolysis furnace on the furnace shell.

Diesen haftete 6 % Koks an. Drilling cores with a diameter of 1 cm and a length of 2.2 cm and a diameter of 2 cm and a length of 2.5 cm Glass fiber mats with a matrix of styrene crosslinked polyester resin were heated in a reactor under inert conditions. After a heating time of 6 min. at 300 ° C began decomposition. After further heating to 450 ° C were after 60 min. 41% glass fibers were obtained from the starting material. These adhered to 6% coke. This was burned in a muffle furnace with 20% oxygen at 400 ° C and a white product was obtained.
