The radar sensor may be included by a driver assistance system, for example a distance control system, an automatic emergency braking system and / or for automating a drive of the motor vehicle. Spatial dimensions of the radar sensor are predetermined in particular by the spatial dimensions of a radar front end. A radar front-end may be an arrangement consisting of radio-frequency antennas for the transmission direction and reception direction and an electronic transmission and reception unit. A typical frequency range for the radar sensor is 77 GHz or 79 GHz.
By dielectric properties of the circuit board or the substrate and the resulting wavelength of an electromagnetic wave in the respective frequency range, the dimensions for the radar front end are given.

It is an object of the present invention to design a radiation characteristic of a radar sensor for a motor vehicle particularly easily adaptable to a particular application.
This object is achieved by the subject matters of the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments with expedient developments are the subject of the dependent claims. Expedient developments of the antenna arrangement according to the invention also apply analogously to the method according to the invention for producing an antenna arrangement and vice versa.
An antenna arrangement according to the invention for a radar sensor comprises radio-frequency antennas for transmitting electromagnetic energy. In particular, the high frequency antennas for transmitting electromagnetic energy between a conducted electromagnetic wave and a free space electromagnetic wave are formed. The transfer of electromagnetic energy may include radiating and / or receiving electromagnetic energy. The antenna arrangement further comprises a supply network, by means of which the high-frequency antennas can be connected to a transmitting unit and / or a receiving unit. In particular, the supply network can be designed to transmit the line-connected electromagnetic wave between the high-frequency antennas and the transmitting unit and / or the receiving unit. The high-frequency antennas and the supply network are formed by printed conductors of a printed circuit board. The high-frequency antennas and / or the supply network are preferably formed by strip lines (microstrip), shielded strip lines (stripline) and / or by contacts (vias) of the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board may comprise an insulating dielectric.
The supply network has a first supply line in a first spatial direction and at least two second supply lines in a second spatial direction. In each case one of the second supply lines is connected to a plurality of terminals of the first supply line. In each case one of the high-frequency antennas is connected to a plurality of terminals of the second supply lines. In other words, the first supply line can contact the at least two second supply lines while the at least two second supply lines contact the high-frequency antennas. Preferably, the at least two second leads are arranged in a line. The first supply line can be arranged in a column shape and contact lines formed by the at least two second supply lines. Preferably, the high frequency antennas are arranged in rows and / or columns.
In order to make a radiation characteristic of the radar sensor particularly easily adaptable to a particular application, the invention provides that the first supply line and the second supply lines between two adjacent to the plurality of terminals are each formed in a loop and a respective length of the affected feed line between the two adjacent of the plurality of terminals at a constant position of the high-frequency antennas is predetermined by a respective shape of the loop. The emission characteristic of the antenna arrangement can be predetermined by the respective length between the two adjacent ones of the multiple connections on the first supply line and / or the second supply lines. In particular, by the respective length between the two adjacent ones of the plurality of terminals, a phase relationship of the conducted electromagnetic wave between the two adjacent ones of the plurality of terminals can be predetermined. In particular, a phase relationship between two high-frequency antennas, which are respectively connected to one of the two adjacent ones of the plurality of terminals, can be predetermined by the respective length of the respectively affected supply line between the two adjacent ones of the plurality of terminals. In particular, a phase relationship between two of the second supply lines, which are connected to two adjacent ones of the plurality of terminals of the first supply line, can be predetermined by the respective length of the first supply line between the two adjacent ones of the plurality of connections of the first supply line. The respective length between the two adjacent ones of the plurality of terminals is in any case particularly easily predetermined by the shape of the loop. In particular, the shape of the loop in a preparation of the antenna arrangement or in a preparation of the circuit board can be predetermined. In particular, the emission characteristic can be predetermined at a constant position of the high-frequency antennas. In other words, to adapt the radiation characteristic of the antenna arrangement to a particular application only an adaptation of the shape of the loop is necessary. Position and / or layout of the radio frequency antennas may be the same for each of the different purposes.
A development of the invention provides that the two adjacent ones of the terminals of the second supply lines and two further adjacent ones of the terminals of the second supply lines are each spaced apart by the same length. In particular, all connections of the second supply lines have the same length as a distance to an adjacent connection of the same supply line. In particular, high-frequency antennas, which are respectively connected to two adjacent ones of the terminals of the second supply lines, each have the same phase relation to one another.
A development provides that the printed circuit board is designed as LTCC printed circuit board, wherein a relative permittivity of a dielectric of the printed circuit board is at least 6. LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics) is the abbreviation for low-temperature co-fired ceramics. This is in particular a substrate on which printed conductors of the printed circuit board can be applied. In particular, the substrate forms the dielectric of the printed circuit board. Due to a relative permittivity of at least 6, in particular at least 7, for example between 7.8 and 8.1, LTCC ceramics may be particularly suitable for the circuit board for the antenna arrangement. Since the wavelength of an electromagnetic wave of constant frequency strongly depends on the relative permittivity of the dielectric, a particularly compact design of the antenna arrangement can be made possible by the design of the printed circuit board as LTCC printed circuit board.
A further development provides that the first supply line and the second supply lines run at least substantially perpendicular to one another. In particular, the second supply lines are arranged at respective terminals of the first supply line at an angle of 90 degrees to the first supply line. In this case, can be spanned by the supply network, a network.
A further development provides that the first supply line and the second supply lines are part of a rake-shaped structure. In particular, a calculation bar or arithmetic bar of the rake-like structure can be formed by the first feed line. The second leads may form tines of the rake-like structure. The rake-shaped structure provides a particularly easily expandable structure of the antenna arrangement. In particular, by extending the second leads and by increasing the number of multiple terminals on each of the second leads, a higher number of high frequency antennas may be arranged in the second spatial direction. Alternatively or additionally, an expansion of the antenna arrangement in the first spatial direction can be predetermined by the number of second supply lines. Alternatively or additionally, an expansion of the antenna arrangement in the first spatial direction can be predetermined by the length of the first supply line and the number of second supply lines connected to the first supply line. Due to the respective expansions in the spatial directions, the bundling of a radiation of the antenna arrangement into the respective spatial directions can be predetermined separately.
A further embodiment provides that the first supply line has a first side and a second side, wherein on both sides in each case at least two of the plurality of terminals are arranged and a loop between two adjacent of the plurality of terminals on the first side and a loop between two adjacent several terminals on the second side are shaped differently. This can be a phase relationship between the two adjacent ones of the plurality of terminals on the first side and a phase relationship between the two adjacent ones of the plurality of terminals on the second side differ from each other. In other words, two adjacent ones of the plurality of ports on the first side and two adjacent ones of the plurality of ports on the second side may each be spaced a different length apart. As a result, respective phase relationships between two adjacent ports on the first page and the second page may differ.
A further development provides that the first supply line between the first side and the second side has a connection for connecting to the transmitting unit and / or the receiving unit. In this case, a particularly advantageous radiation characteristic can be made possible by the deviating phase relationships between two adjacent terminals on the first side and on the second side. In particular, a particularly directed radiation according to a solid angle is made possible both by radio-frequency antennas arranged indirectly on the first side and indirectly by the second side.
A further aspect of the invention relates to a radar front end with an antenna arrangement of the aforementioned type. In addition to the antenna arrangement, the radar front end may additionally comprise the transmitting unit and / or the receiving unit. Preferably, the radar front end is completely disposed on the circuit board. In particular, the transmitting unit and / or the receiving unit can be realized by equipping.
A third aspect of the invention relates to a driver assistance device having a radar front end of the type mentioned above. For example, the driver assistance device additionally comprises, in addition to the radar front end, an evaluation unit for detecting a surrounding area on the basis of a signal of the radar front end. The radar front end and the evaluation unit together form a radar sensor.
Another aspect of the invention relates to a motor vehicle with the above-mentioned driver assistance device. In particular, the radar sensor and / or the antenna arrangement are arranged on the motor vehicle, in particular in an outer area. A position of the radar sensor and / or the antenna arrangement relative to the motor vehicle can be constant.
A refinement of the motor vehicle provides that the emission characteristic of the antenna arrangement is predetermined in accordance with an elevation angle or in elevation by the length between the two adjacent ones of the plurality of connections on the first supply line. In particular, the antenna arrangement is aligned such that the radiation characteristic is predetermined according to the elevation angle by the phase relationship between two of the adjacent of the plurality of terminals on the first supply line. In particular, the first supply line is vertically aligned. The radiation characteristic of the antenna arrangement according to the elevation angle is particularly easy to predetermine in this case by the shape of the loop between two adjacent of the plurality of terminals of the first supply line. The elevation angle indicates, in particular, a vertical angle with respect to a plane on which the motor vehicle stands.
A refinement of the motor vehicle provides that the emission characteristic of the antenna arrangement is predetermined according to an azimuth angle or in azimuth by the length between the two adjacent ones of the plurality of connections on the second supply lines. In particular, the antenna arrangement is aligned such that the radiation characteristic is predetermined according to the azimuth angle by the phase relationship between two of the adjacent ones of the plurality of terminals on the second supply lines. In particular, the second leads are aligned horizontally. The radiation characteristic of the antenna arrangement according to the azimuth angle is particularly easy to predetermine in this case by the shape of the loop between two adjacent of the plurality of terminals of the second leads. In particular, the azimuth angle indicates a horizontal angle with respect to a plane which is parallel to a forward direction of the motor vehicle and perpendicular to the plane on which the motor vehicle stands.
A fifth aspect of the invention relates to a method of manufacturing a multi-step antenna assembly. First, fixed positions for high frequency antennas are set on a substrate. At these fixed positions, the radio frequency antennas can be placed on the substrate. The radio-frequency antennas are contacted by means of a supply network having a first supply line in a first spatial direction and at least two second supply lines in a second spatial direction, wherein in each case one of the second supply lines is connected to a plurality of terminals of the first supply line and to a plurality of respective terminals of the second supply lines respectively one of the high-frequency antennas is connected. In a third step, a radiation characteristic of the antenna arrangement can be adjusted by defining a respective length of the first supply line and the second supply line between two adjacent ones of the plurality of connections. In particular, the first supply line and the second supply line are each between two formed adjacent to the plurality of terminals according to a loop. In this case, the radiation characteristic of the antenna array can be adjusted by specifying a shape of the respective loops.
