Description
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing a fiber composite component and a fiber composite component.
Especially in the aerospace sector fiber composite components find a variety of applications. For example, various structural components for fuselage structures of aircraft are now made of fiber composite components.
Usually fiber composite components have one or more layers of a fiber material which are embedded in a matrix material. For the production of the fiber material is usually provided as a fiber preform, which usually already has the outer contour of the fiber composite component to be produced. The fiber preform is usually arranged in a cavity formed between two tool parts of a closed tool device, into which the matrix material is supplied. In order to achieve acceptable production times with a high fiber volume content, for example of more than 60% by volume, a rapid and uniform distribution of the matrix material over the surface of the fiber preform is advantageous.

This object is achieved in each case by the subject matters of the independent claims.
Advantageous embodiments and further developments emerge from the subclaims referring back to the independent claims in connection with the description.
- – Ausbilden einer geschlossenen Kavität durch Anordnen eines ersten Werkzeugteils gegenüber einem zweiten Werkzeugteil, wobei das erste Werkzeugteil eine erste Werkzeugoberfläche aufweist, an der ein Faserformling angeordnet ist;
- – Verteilen eines magnetisierbaren Matrixmaterials auf einer bei geschlossener Kavität der ersten Werkzeugoberfläche zugewandten zweiten Werkzeugoberfläche des zweiten Werkzeugteils, wobei das Matrixmaterial mittels eines an der zweiten Werkzeugoberfläche ausgebildeten Magnetfelds an dieser gehalten wird;
- Forming a closed cavity by disposing a first tool part opposite a second tool part, the first tool part having a first tool surface on which a fiber preform is arranged;
- Distributing a magnetizable matrix material on a second tool surface of the second tool part facing the first tool surface when the cavity is closed, wherein the matrix material is held thereon by means of a magnetic field formed on the second tool surface;
- - infiltrating the fiber molding with the matrix material; and
- - Hardening of the matrix material by adjusting a curing temperature in the cavity.
According to the invention, a closed cavity is formed by arranging a first tool part in relation to a second tool part. Here, on a first surface of the first tool part, a fiber preform, that is an optionally preformed layer, which comprises fiber material arranged. The cavity is closed by the first and the second tool part and thus forms a closed to the environment working space.
On a second tool surface of the second tool part, a matrix material, which is provided for infiltration of the fiber molding, distributed. The second tool surface is in the state of the tool parts, in which they form the closed cavity, facing the first tool surface. The matrix material is magnetizable and is held on the second tool surface by means of a magnetic field acting on the second tool surface. According to the invention, a distribution of the matrix material takes place on the second tool surface, the matrix material being held there by a magnetic field. This offers the advantage that a desired planar distributed arrangement of the matrix material on the tool surface can be achieved in a simple manner by adjusting the magnetic field due to the magnetic field. Furthermore, a substantially obstacle-free and thus particularly quickly and uniformly feasible distribution process of the matrix material is made possible, since this is distributed on the tool surface and not on a surface of the fiber material. After the distribution of the matrix material and the formation of the closed cavity, the fibrous blank is infiltrated with the matrix material. In this case, the matrix material penetrates the fiber molding and thereby embeds the fibers of the fiber molding. Due to the effect of the magnetic field, the matrix material is present at the initiation of infiltration in a desired areal distribution. In particular, this results in a particularly high surface quality of the fiber composite component, since there are no physical structures for adjusting the areal distribution of the matrix material, which could emerge on the surface. The distribution of the matrix material on the second tool surface can take place both with the cavity closed and not yet closed.
Furthermore, hardening of the matrix material takes place. For this purpose, a curing temperature is set, which depends on the composition of the matrix material and is in particular in the range of an activation temperature of reactants present in the matrix material. During curing, the cavity remains closed. The curing may include both complete curing of the matrix material over the entire thickness of the fiber composite component as well as only partial curing across the thickness range. In the case of partial curing, at least one curing takes place in the region of the surfaces of the fiber composite component.
According to a preferred embodiment it is provided that the volume of the cavity during infiltration is reduced by moving the first tool surface and the second tool surface together. The matrix material distributed on the second tool surface is thereby pressed into it in a thickness direction of the fiber molding. This shortens the infiltration time. By infiltration in the thickness direction by means of volume reduction of the cavity can be dispensed with cost-intensive or expensive high-pressure systems for introducing the matrix material into the cavity. Rather, the use of magnetizable matrix material, which is distributed on the second tool surface, advantageously creates simple possibilities of matrix material introduction into the cavity.
The reduction of the volume can be continuous or discontinuous, for example stepped. With a continuous reduction of the distance in particular residual air can be pressed out of the fiber preform, which has a favorable effect on the mechanical stability of the component. With a discontinuous reduction in volume, a particularly uniform distribution of the matrix material can advantageously be achieved.
Preferably, the second tool surface is arranged before infiltration at a distance from the fiber preform which is large enough that with the cavity closed, the matrix material distributed on the second tool surface does not yet have any contact with the fiber preform or the matrix material still to be distributed during dispensing come in contact with the fiber molding. The closed cavity is already hermetically sealed against the environment.
According to an advantageous development of the method, it is provided that the cavity is evacuated prior to infiltration. In particular, a negative pressure relative to the environment in the cavity is generated, thereby removing air and other gases from the cavity. This offers the advantage that possibly existing air pockets are removed in the fiber molding. This results in a more uniform infiltration and the mechanical properties of the fiber composite component produced are improved.
According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the matrix material is distributed on the second tool surface before the formation of the cavity. This offers the advantage that the matrix material can be applied particularly quickly and in a simple manner to the second tool surface. This also simplifies the construction of the tool parts, since distribution devices can be omitted within the tool parts. Furthermore, it is prevented that the matrix material undesirably distributed in the cavity and must be removed after curing in a complex manner. This effect is further enhanced by the magnetic fixation of the matrix material on the second tool surface.
Advantageously, the matrix material is arranged as a high-viscosity material package on the second tool surface and heated to an infiltration temperature before infiltration, wherein the matrix material has a reduced viscosity compared to the material package at the infiltration temperature. The matrix material is therefore preferably arranged in a solid or jelly-like state on the second tool surface. Due to the magnetizable property of the matrix material, the matrix material package can be held in a simple manner on the second tool surface. Heating to the infiltration temperature lowers the viscosity of the matrix material, which is still held by the magnetic field on the second tool surface. In this embodiment, there is the particular advantage that the matrix material is very easy to handle and no separate distribution device is necessary. In particular, the matrix material may be provided as a prefabricated mat or the like. This considerably speeds up the procedure.
The distribution of the matrix material before the formation of the cavity on the second tool surface can alternatively also be carried out by spraying the matrix material onto the second tool surface or the like. This offers the advantage that the distribution takes place in a technically simple and rapid manner.
In general, the possibility is created by the magnetic field on the second tool surface of first distributing the matrix material on the second tool surface and only there to heat to the infiltration temperature. Thus matrix materials with highly reactive resins can also be used, which reduces the overall process time.
According to a further embodiment, it is provided that the matrix material is introduced after the formation of the cavity via supply lines in the cavity and distributed to the second tool surface. This can be done before or after evacuation of the cavity. The direct feed of the matrix material into the closed cavity advantageously ensures a closed process sequence.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the matrix material is formed as a ferromagnetic fluid, which is formed with a resin material as the carrier fluid and a predetermined proportion of magnetic or magnetizable particles of a size in the range between 2 and 10 nanometers. The proportion of magnetic or magnetizable particles is preferably between 5 percent by volume and 15 percent by volume of the matrix material. The particles are preferably present in this dispersed state. The particles may in particular comprise iron, magnetite and / or cobalt. Ferromagnetic fluids as matrix material have the advantage that they have approximately the same flow properties as commonly used resin material, but are attracted by the magnetic field. Thus, besides the fixation of the matrix material on the second tool surface, an advantageous influencing of the propagation direction and speed of the matrix material during the infiltration can also take place.
In particular, it can be provided that a magnetic field is generated during the infiltration on the first tool surface. Thus, the matrix material formed as a ferrofluid is attracted toward the first tool surface. This speeds up infiltration. In this case, the magnetic field on the second tool surface is switched off particularly advantageously. The magnetic fields on the first tool surface and the second tool surface can each be generated or switched off only in regions. Thus, the spread of the matrix material during the infiltration can be specifically influenced. For example, in regions of the fibrous formed body having a large thickness, the spreading of the matrix material toward the first tool surface may be accelerated by generating a corresponding magnetic field at the first tool surface while reducing the spread in a thinner portion of the fiber preform by generating a corresponding magnetic field at the second tool surface , Thus, a particularly uniform infiltration of the fiber molding is achieved. In particular, air pockets are largely avoided. Furthermore, this can prevent the mechanical stability of the fiber composite component reducing fiber displacement within the fiber molding.
According to an alternative embodiment, the matrix material is formed as a magnetorheological fluid which has a resin material as the carrier liquid and a predetermined proportion of magnetic or magnetizable particles of a size in the range greater than 10 nanometers to 10 micrometers. The proportion of particles in the matrix material is in particular between 10% by volume and 40% by volume. Preferably carbonyl iron chips are used as particles. The magnetorheological fluid formed matrix material changes its viscosity depending on the strength of an applied magnetic field. In particular, the viscosity of this matrix material is increased at a strong magnetic field and decreases with a decrease in the magnetic field strength. This offers the advantage that the Matrix material can be held particularly reliable on the second tool surface.
It is particularly preferred that the magnetic field on the second tool surface is canceled before or during infiltration. When using a magnetorheological fluid as a matrix material, this has the advantage that the viscosity of the matrix material is reduced in comparison to its viscosity when the magnetic field is switched on. When using a ferrofluid as the matrix material, a force directed opposite to the infiltration direction is thereby reduced. This increases the speed of infiltration.
According to a further aspect of the invention, a fiber composite component is provided with a fibrous molding infiltrated with a magnetizable matrix material. The fiber composite component according to the invention thus has a layer of a fiber material in the form of the fiber molding, wherein the fiber material is embedded in a matrix material which is magnetic or magnetizable. This offers the advantage that the fiber composite component can be produced particularly efficiently and with high quality by a method according to one of the embodiments described above. Due to the magnetic properties of the matrix material, the fiber composite component can continue to be handled particularly advantageously. For example, a magnetic gripper for the arrangement of the fiber composite component, for. B. for the same use.
According to a preferred embodiment, it is provided that the fiber composite component is produced by a method according to one of the embodiments described above.
Another aspect of the invention relates to a tool device for producing a fiber composite component. The tool device is particularly suitable for carrying out the method described above and for producing the fiber composite component described above. The device features described in connection with the method or the fiber composite component can therefore also be present in the tool device described below.
The tool device has a first tool part with a first tool surface for receiving a fiber molding and a second tool part with a second tool surface and a magnetic field generating device assigned thereto for generating a magnetic field on the second tool surface for holding magnetizable matrix material on the second tool surface. The first and second tool parts are movable relative to one another into a closed position of the tool device, in which the first tool surface and the second tool surface face each other and the tool parts form a closed cavity.
Accordingly, a tool device is provided with two relatively movable tool parts, which are movable toward each other in a closed position. In the closed position, the tool parts form a closed cavity. This is completed especially with respect to the environment. The first tool part has a first tool surface, which is provided for receiving a fiber molding. The second tool part has a second tool surface on which a matrix material for infiltration of the fiber molding can be distributed. The second tool surface is disposed in the closed state of the tool device opposite the first tool surface. The second tool surface is associated with a magnetic field generating device. With this a magnetic field can be generated on the second tool surface. By means of the magnetic field that can be generated by the magnetic field generating device, it is possible to use a magnetizable matrix material, for. B. in the form of a ferrofluid or a magnetorheological fluid to hold on the second tool surface. Thus, the method described above can be performed in a simple manner with the advantages described.
The first and second tool surfaces can in particular be designed to be complementary to one another. Thus, a uniform infiltration of the fiber molding is advantageously improved.
In particular, the magnetic field generating device can be formed by an electromagnet arranged within the second tool part. The electromagnet preferably has one or more current-carrying conductors extending in a predetermined course pattern along the second tool surface. Due to the course, the areal distribution of the magnetic field can be advantageously set. It is also conceivable that different magnetic field intensities can be generated in different regions of the second surface and / or the magnetic field can be applied or switched off individually in the various regions. This can be realized, for example, by an electromagnet with a plurality of coils or conductors, each extending in the different areas.
According to an advantageous development of the tool device, the first tool part additionally has one of the first tool surface associated magnetic field generating means for generating a magnetic field on the first tool surface. The magnetic field generating device associated with the first tool surface can be realized in the same way as the magnetic field generating device associated with the second tool surface described above. By the second tool surface associated magnetic field generating device, the infiltration of the fiber molding can be further accelerated. Furthermore, advantageously influencing the propagation direction and speed of the matrix material is made possible.
Particularly preferably, the tool device additionally has a vacuum device, by means of which the cavity can be evacuated. The vacuum device can be realized, in particular, by a vacuum pump, which is functionally coupled to the cavity via a discharge line opening into the cavity.
As used herein, a "fibrous material," "fibrous material," "fiber composite," or "fiber composite" is generally understood to be a material comprised of a plurality of particularly filamentary or filamentary reinforcing fibers, such as carbon, glass, ceramic, aramid -, boron, mineral, natural or synthetic fibers or mixtures thereof is formed.
