Description
The invention relates to a method for cleaning a die-cast structural component in preparation for a subsequent adhesive and / or painting process. The invention further relates to a method for producing a body-component composite with at least one die-cast structural component and a body-component composite produced therewith.
Druckguss-Strukturbauteile bzw. Die-cast structural components or structural die-cast components in the sense of the invention are structural parts produced by die-casting for a chassis and / or a motor vehicle body, which are usually subject to safety-relevant requirements.

The wet-chemical cleaning is ecologically questionable and also requires a complex monitoring of the treatment baths. In addition, it can lead to a carryover of impurities in the treatment baths and the component or workpiece. The mechanical cleaning is complex. In addition, the achievable cleaning results depend on the respective surface topography.
The invention has for its object to provide a method for cleaning die-cast structural components, which does not have at least one associated with the prior art disadvantage or at least only to a reduced extent.
This object is achieved by the method according to the invention with the features of
The invention provides that the die-cast structural component to be cleaned is subjected to a plasma cleaning. That is, the surface of the die-cast structural member to be cleaned is exposed to a cleaning plasma. A plasma is by definition a partially ionized gas with which physical and / or chemical reactions are triggered on the surface to be cleaned.
With the plasma cleaning can be achieved, in particular without pretreatment, very good and uniform cleaning or treatment results. In addition, the plasma cleaning has a high process stability and a simple process control. Plasma cleaning can also be applied to complicated component geometries and / or temperature-sensitive die-cast alloys (for example, cold-curing cast aluminum alloys). The plasma cleaning is particularly suitable for mass production. Further advantages are the absence of solvents and the elimination of a drying process. Since the temperature during plasma cleaning can be kept low, no cooling is required. This is not an exhaustive list of advantages associated with the invention.
If metallic and in particular light-metal die-cast components are heat-treated (eg by solution heat treatment) after their initial production, combustion or oxidation of surface contaminants (for example release agents from the casting process) usually occurs, so that these contaminations are further subsequently used, in particular for subsequent adhesive bonding / or painting or coating, are often no longer process-disturbing. Nevertheless, a plasma cleaning according to the invention may nevertheless be necessary. Furthermore, such associated with cost and effort heat treatments are not always provided or possible. In the case of a die-cast structural component relating to this, no heat treatment following the die-casting process is preferably provided, ie. H. the die-cast structural component is heat-treatment-free.
The die-cast structural component to be cleaned is preferably made of a light metal casting alloy, such as a magnesium or Cast aluminum alloy, formed. The die-cast structural component to be cleaned is particularly preferably formed from a naturally hard or cold-hardening cast alloy, in particular a naturally hard or cold-curing light metal casting alloy (for example a cold-hardening cast aluminum alloy). The release agents used in the die-casting of natural or cold-curing casting alloys have so far been only laboriously removable. Often separating and cleaning agents (for wet-chemical cleaning) form a system, which results in restrictions. In addition, naturally hard and cold-curing light metal alloys or the die castings produced therefrom are usually not heat treated. Here, the plasma cleaning according to the invention now provides a remedy.
The plasma cleaning can be done with low pressure plasma in a low pressure (plasma) chamber. However, the plasma cleaning is preferably carried out with atmospheric plasma (atmospheric plasma cleaning). For atmospheric plasma cleaning, a single plasma jet or a plurality of plasma jets may be used, which in particular enables targeted application of the surface areas to be cleaned. The plasma may be applied through a single nozzle or nozzle array or the like. Preferably, the nozzle or nozzle array is moved by robot relative to the cleaning die cast structural component (or vice versa).
The die-cast structural component to be cleaned is preferably subjected only to a local plasma cleaning, in particular only at the joining or gluing points (adhesive flanges), whereby expenditure, time and costs are reduced. At atmospheric plasma cleaning, the at least one plasma jet is directed only at the sites to be cleaned. In particular, such a local atmospheric plasma cleaning of the joining or splices or painting stations offers many advantages. When plasma cleaning in a low-pressure chamber, non-clean component areas can be covered.
B. Argon), plasmastabilisierende Teilchen (z. B. Wasserstoff) und oxidative Teilchen (z. B. Sauerstoff) enthalten. The plasma-cleaned surface of the die-cast structural component can be selectively oxidized in order to obtain, for example, corrosion protection and / or improved adhesive and / or painting properties. In this case, a defined oxide layer structure preferably takes place. For this purpose, the surface in question can be exposed to an oxidizing plasma, both by atmospheric loading and by Niederdruckkammerbeaufschlagung, as previously explained. The oxidation can take place directly after the plasma cleaning, for example by changing the plasma gas composition and / or the plasma generation parameters (for example alternating field voltage, alternating field frequency and / or gas pressure). With suitable plasma gas also a simultaneous cleaning and oxidation of the casting surface is possible. The plasma gas may, for example, contain energetic particles (eg argon), plasma stabilizing particles (eg hydrogen) and oxidative particles (eg oxygen).
- – gegebenenfalls Herstellen des Druckguss-Strukturbauteils, wobei zum Zwecke der einfacheren Entformbarkeit aus der Druckgießform ein Trennmittel verwendet wird;
- – Plasmareinigen des (entformten) Druckguss-Strukturbauteils mit einem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren, wobei zumindest lokal die Klebestellen (Fügeflansche) von Trennmittelrückständen gereinigt bzw. dekontaminiert werden;
- – gegebenenfalls Oxidieren der gereinigten Oberfläche, wie oben beschrieben;
- - If necessary, producing the die-cast structural component, wherein for the purpose of easier removability from the die a release agent is used;
- - Plasma cleaning of the (demolded) die-cast structural component with a method according to the invention, wherein at least locally the splices (Fügeflansche) are cleaned or decontaminated by release agent residues;
- Optionally oxidizing the cleaned surface as described above;
- - Gluing the plasma-cleaned die-cast structural component with at least one other component.
The body-component composite produced in this way is u. a. characterized in that the at least one included die-cast structural component has a plasma-cleaned joining or adhesive surface to which it is adhesively bonded to the at least one other component or body component. The bonding takes place by means of a suitable adhesive, for example based on epoxy resin. The die-cast structural component is, in particular, a side sill reinforcement that is glued to at least one other body component.
The plasma cleaning achieves, in particular, an improvement in the long-term stability of the adhesive bond. In addition to bonding, other joining methods (for example, rivets, screws, spot welding, etc.) can also be used.
It is preferably a light metal die-cast structural component, in particular of a natural or cold-curing light metal (pressure) casting alloy. A light metal die-cast structural component formed from a cold-curing light metal casting alloy is preferably subjected to cold aging for example for several days immediately after the casting process. The cold aging takes place before the plasma cleaning and the subsequent joining process. In plasma cleaning, the temperature of the structural component to be cleaned can be kept very low, so that there are no strength disadvantages arise. In addition, no cooling is required.
The invention is explained in more detail below by way of example and not by way of limitation with reference to the schematic figures. The features shown in the figures and / or explained below may, even independently of specific combinations of features, be general features of the invention and further develop the invention.
