Description
The invention relates to an exhaust gas turbocharger charging device for an internal combustion engine with the features of the preamble of

A disadvantage of the known state of the art, especially with single-stage turbocharger or mono VTG (Variable Turbine Geometry), that in certain operating ranges of the internal combustion engine near the full load hardly purging gradient for sufficient high-pressure exhaust gas recirculation (HD-EGR) is present. In order to use high-pressure EGR in these operating areas, the scavenging gradient would have to be achieved by throttling. This leads in a negative way to consumption disadvantages. Alternatively, an additional low-pressure EGR (ND-EGR) offers the possibility of supplying the internal combustion engine with low-pressure EGR in these special operating ranges. However, the additional low-pressure EGR represents a considerable structural and thus financial expense and has the additional disadvantage that it leads, especially at high loads to very high compressor outlet temperatures and thus again can only be used to a limited extent.
Object of the present invention is to show an exhaust gas turbocharger charging device for an internal combustion engine, which avoids the disadvantages mentioned above.
This object is solved by the features in the characterizing part of
Especially the rigid high-pressure compressor, without a variable geometry, has a very good efficiency in the partial load range and can provide a sufficient purging gradient for the high-pressure EGR in all other operating ranges, including the full load. In addition, the boost pressure can be significantly increased by the good supercharging efficiency but also by a structurally small high-pressure exhaust gas turbocharger, which brings significant consumption and emission benefits. This very special structurally small design of the high-pressure exhaust gas turbocharger is only possible by the special combination with a low-pressure exhaust gas turbocharger with a variable turbine geometry (VTG). A VTG low-pressure stage can switch to a single-stage operation at a very early stage if the HD stage becomes too small.

In the following, the invention is explained in more detail with reference to a single figure.
At the greatest negative pressure in the, attached to the exhaust gas turbocharger vacuum box, the vanes are rotated via the adjusting ring in its flattest position. At low vacuum in the vacuum pressure box, the vanes are rotated by a spring in the vacuum unit in a steeper position. The adjustment causes the turbine wheel is always best flows through the exhaust gas, even if there is always a varying exhaust gas mass available. With a small amount of exhaust gas, the vanes are flattened. This results in a lower flow cross section of the vanes for the exhaust gases. So that in the same time the same amount of exhaust gas can flow through the vanes, the low exhaust gas mass must flow faster. This leads to a faster flow of the turbine wheel and thus to a higher speed of the turbine wheel, which more compressor side combustion air is promoted and a higher boost pressure for the internal combustion engine is available. This happens, for example, at low speeds and full load, because a faster "boost pressure build-up" is needed. As the amount of exhaust gas increases, the guide vanes become steeper and the flow cross section for the exhaust gas mass increases, but the flow of the turbine wheel remains largely constant and the boost pressure and the turbine output remain approximately constant.
