The invention relates to a filling level measuring device for determining a filling level (L) of a filling material (3) located in a small vessel (2). According to the invention, the filling level measuring device comprises a vessel receptacle (4) for the small vessel (2) with a first electrode (5) and a second electrode (6). In this case, the vessel receptacle (4) is designed such that the small vessel (2) is removably arranged between the first electrode (5) and the second electrode (6). In this case, a dielectricity value (DK) which prevails between the first electrode (5) and the second electrode (6) is measured. Thus, in contrast to the fill level determination on large containers, it is not necessary with the fill level measuring device according to the invention to at least parts of the fill level measuring device within the small vessel to install. Description
The invention relates to a level measuring device for determining a level of a filling material located in a small vessel.
In automation technology, in particular in process automation technology, field devices are often used which serve for detecting and / or influencing process variables. For the detection of process variables, sensors are used, which are integrated in, for example, level gauges, flowmeters, pressure and temperature measuring devices, pH redox potential measuring devices, conductivity meters, etc. They record the corresponding process variables, such as level, flow, pressure, pH, conductivity, redox potential or temperature. Actuators are used to influence process variables, such as valves or pumps, which can be used to change the flow rate of a liquid in a pipe section or to change the fill level in a tank. In the context of the invention, the term "container" also understood non-closed containers, such as basins, lakes or flowing waters. In general, all those devices are called field devices, which are used close to the process and which provide or process process-relevant information. Therefore, in the context of the invention, field devices additionally also mean remote I / Os, radio adapters or generally electronic components, which are arranged on the field level. A large number of these field devices are manufactured and sold by Endress + Hauser.
By means of the pulse transit time method, the filling level (L) can be determined in containers with a height of more than 30 m and corresponding filling capacity. A determination of the level (L) in small vessels with a capacity of much less than a liter, for example, in the filling of ampoules or sample vials, is not possible with this measurement method due to the small container dimensions.
The invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a level gauge for determining a level of a filling in a small container contents.
- - A receptacle for the small vessel, with
- o a first electrode and
- o a second electrode,
- - A parent unit which is electrically contacted with the first electrode and / or the second electrode.
In this case, the control / evaluation unit, the first electrode, and / or the second electrode are designed such that a dielectric value (DK) prevailing between the first electrode and the second electrode can be measured. Based on the measured dielectric value (DK), the higher-level unit determines the level (L). By means of this level gauge so levels or minimum level changes can be determined in small vessels, without this must be at least a part of the level gauge within the small vessel. Nevertheless, by determining the currently prevailing dielectric constant (DK), a highly accurate determination of the fill level (L) is possible.
Preferably, the control / evaluation unit determines the fill level (L) by comparing the measured dielectric value (DK) with reference values from a previously known comparison table or look-up table, the reference values in each case being assigned a discrete fill level value (L) , The preparation of a comparison table can be done here by means of a corresponding calibration (or calibration) for the respective type of contents.
Various measuring principles for measuring the dielectric value (DK) can be used according to the invention. A first possibility is to use the first electrode and / or the second electrode as capacitor plates / capacitor plate to design. In this case, the control / evaluation unit is preferably designed such that it determines the dielectric value (DK) by measuring the capacitor capacitance. As a result, the effect is used that the filling material acts as a dielectric, which at different filling levels (L) in each case more or less strongly affects the dielectric value (DK) of the capacitor.
Denn auch die Absorption hängt mittels der jeweiligen Dielektrizitätskonstante (εr) des Füllgutes vom Füllstand (L) ab.As an alternative to measuring the microwave transit time (or as an additional method for redundant design of the fill level measuring device according to the invention), however, it would also be conceivable in the case of radar to design the control / evaluation unit such that it measures the dielectric value (DK) by measuring the attenuation of the microwaves between the first electrode and the second electrode. For the absorption also depends on the fill level (L) by means of the respective dielectric constant (ε r ) of the filling material.
In the case of a design of the first or second electrode as a microwave antenna, in addition to transit time and absorption measurement, it would also be conceivable for the control / evaluation unit to be designed such that it measures the dielectric value (DK) by measuring the natural frequencies / natural frequency first electrode and / or the second electrode determined.
In relation to the mounting device for the small vessel, a particularly compact and simple design variant of the level measuring device is that the first electrode and the second electrode are configured such that they themselves form the vessel receptacle.
