Description
The invention relates to a camera for a spacecraft with a detector having an image capture plane and a lens imaging the radiation of a given field of view onto the image capture plane.
Through the use of refractive lenses for imaging the radiation of the detected field of view on the image acquisition plane, aberrations occur which require further correction lenses even when using aspherical lenses, so that the objective of such cameras has a high weight. Furthermore, a detection of broadband radiation leads to chromatic aberrations, which limits the achievable accuracy in determining the position. Furthermore, due to the large temperature differences in space refractively working and due to the required optical properties of different materials with different coefficients of thermal expansion existing lenses due to the large temperature differences in space with great effort to compensate thermally.

The object is solved by the subject matter of claim 1. The dependent claims give advantageous embodiments of the subject matter of claim 1 again. Furthermore, the problem is solved by the use of the proposed camera as a navigation camera, reconnaissance camera or for use in a star sensor.
The proposed camera is intended for a spacecraft such as a satellite, a space station, a spacecraft or the like. The camera includes a detector, such as a CCD chip or the like with an image capture plane and a designed as a mirror lens, the radiation such as light of a given field of view on the image capture plane imaging lens. The mirror objective is lens-less, that is, formed without refractive lenses, so that chromatic aberrations can be largely avoided and the accuracy can be increased over lenses with refractive lenses. The mirror objective is arranged coaxially about an optical axis erected perpendicularly on the image acquisition plane and has a folded beam path, so that the installation length along the optical axis can be kept short for large achievable focal lengths. As a result, the focus of the camera can be brought closer to the receiving interface of the camera on the spacecraft and this relieved. Furthermore, by a lensless design of the mirror lens, the weight of the lenses can be saved and thus the weight of the proposed camera can be lowered.
The mirror objective has an annular, preferably annular aperture, of which the beam guidance over the first and second Wölbspiegel and two in the course of the beam path to the Wölbspiegeln downstream, along the optical axis spaced hollow mirrors takes place. This creates a four-mirror system. Here, the bulging mirrors are arranged in the inner diameter of the aperture. The last concave mirror has a central opening, behind which the detector is arranged with the image acquisition plane. In this way is irradiated by the aperture on the first concave mirror and deflected by this on the associated camber mirror, which deflects to the second concave mirror, which deflects to the second camber mirror, which radiates through the opening to the image detection level.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the proposed camera, the bulging mirrors can be accommodated on a first carrier part and the concave mirrors on a second carrier part. The two carrier parts can be connected to each other by means of a spacer provided radially outside the mirror at a predetermined or predeterminable distance. In order to keep free radiation surfaces for the aperture on the first carrier part, the carrier part of the at least one camber mirror can have apertures distributed over the circumference. This means that a predetermined number, preferably three radially outwardly directed, narrow webs are provided radially outside of the or the bulging mirror distributed over the circumference, which are connected to the spacer. The webs can open into a ring member, which is connected to the preferably hollow cylindrical spacer formed on the same radius.
In this way, the four-mirror system can be provided in a particularly advantageous manner by two concentrically arranged bulging mirror are arranged from the first support member. In this case, a curvature mirror is preferably arranged on a curved circular surface with a center lying on the optical axis. The other arching mirror surrounds this radially on the outside and is formed from a curved annular surface. On the second carrier part are two concentrically arranged around the opening, behind which the detector is arranged annular concave mirrors. As a result, two independent mirror surfaces are formed on each support part. The mirror surfaces can be produced by coating or polishing the material of the carrier parts.
To form an image of the irradiated via the aperture radiation of the given field of view of the camera on the image acquisition level of the detector, the mirror - bulging mirrors and concave - taking into account their arrangement in the mirror lens, the predetermined as desired focal length and the like predetermined surfaces, the spherical, in may preferably be formed aspherical or in free form.
At least one of the two carrier parts, preferably both carrier parts are produced monolithically, that is, produced in one piece. Depending on the nature of the material used, the monolithic production can take place via corresponding production processes, for example casting, machining, pressing, stamping or the like, with post-processing being able to take place by grinding, polishing, electropolishing, coating, erosion or the like. Preferably, at least the carrier parts and the spacer are made of the same material. As advantageous material with a low expansion coefficient such as thermal expansion coefficient have proven. For example, materials with expansion coefficients of less than 1.5 ppm, preferably less than 1.0 ppm / K, particularly preferably 0.6 ppm / K, are advantageous. Zerodur® (markers from Schott AG, Mainz) or similar glass-ceramic substrates with similar coefficients of expansion or the like have proven to be materials.
According to an advantageous development of the camera, the aperture can be closed to the outside by means of a flat, translucent cover plate. The cover plate preferably forms a closed optical chamber and is substantially non-refractive effect. An adjustment of the photosensitivity of the mirror objective can be provided, for example, by means of a light transmission of the cover plate. For example, the setting of the photosensitivity can be effected by means of a gray filter provided in and / or on the cover plate. Alternatively or additionally, the setting of the photosensitivity can be provided on the cover plate by means of at least one annular diaphragm which predetermines an effective entrance surface of the radiation. Furthermore, alternatively or additionally, an adjustment of sensitive wavelength ranges of the camera by means of at least one spectral filter can be provided.
The assembly of the two carrier parts to each other takes place with the spacer. In this case, a pre-adjustment of the at least one arching mirror relative to the at least one concave mirror, that is to say according to the preferred embodiment of the carrier parts, can be provided by means of a length and / or inclination adjustment of the spacer. This means that the spacer may be slightly wedge-shaped with mutually twisted wedge surfaces to a pre-adjustment to avoid inclination of the support members against each other, so that a parallel arrangement of the mirror or support members by twisting against each other can be achieved. A fine adjustment of the carrier parts relative to the spacer or finally can be provided against each other by the support members are each received by means of a three-point support adjustable on the spacer.
The detector of the proposed camera can be accommodated by means of a detector carrier on the second carrier part. For example, the detector carrier and the second carrier part can be positively or materially connected to one another, for example screwed, riveted, welded, latched, pressed and / or connected in a similar manner. In this case, the detector can be recorded thermally compensated on or opposite the detector carrier. For example, a holder of the detector relative to the detector carrier by means of thermally variable materials, such as piezo elements, be made, which make a thermal compensation by applying a compensation voltage. Alternatively or additionally, thermal compensation can be achieved by oppositely extending materials or materials having a negative coefficient of expansion, for example zirconium tungstate.
By at least a part of the aforementioned embodiments, a camera may be proposed which has a length less than 0.5 times the focal length of the mirror objective. Furthermore, the camera can have an effective F-number of less than 2.5. For example, the proposed camera may have an accuracy whose standard deviation (1 × sigma) is less than 0.5 arc seconds. Here, a simultaneous imaging and evaluation of nearby objects, such as planets, moons, for example, in the approach or flyby or in orbit around the same and distant celestial bodies, such as stars done. For example, an image of the radiation can be adjusted defocused. Alternatively or additionally, the detector may be positioned for sharply imaging the radiation at the focal point of the mirror optics. For this purpose, a fixed adjustment of the detector relative to the mirror optics can be provided. Alternatively, the detector can be arranged pivotably relative to the mirror optics by means of an actuator. Alternatively, a plurality of detectors for a sharp and a defocused image of the radiation may be provided.
In particular, to prevent scattered light and / or direct irradiation of high intensity sunlight or the like, the aperture can be preceded by a baffle, which is advantageously provided with an outer tube and an inner tube. Among other things, such light diaphragms also prevent the inner and outer tube surfaces from allowing a direct light path to the entrance of the mirror optics. For example, the inner tube is shortened in relation to the outer tube and has, for example, two to three diaphragms. In this case, the foremost, that is to say the field of view, facing diaphragm can be designed so that the incident radiation is substantially reflected. For this purpose, the front surface of the diaphragm may have reflective curved or conical surfaces, for example as a concave mirror, so that, for example, a thermal load is reflected. The light aperture can contain sharp aperture blades in the inner and / or outer tube.
The camera can be provided as a navigation camera. In conjunction with a corresponding, preferably recorded on the camera arithmetic unit such as evaluation, a star sensor may be formed based on a stored in the arithmetic unit or in a storage unit star catalog and a comparison with a captured by the camera constellation the position of the spacecraft, for example, based on quaternions determined and determined to a computing unit of the spacecraft. Several star sensors can be connected as a self-sufficient position determining unit and thus ensure a higher reliability of the determined position. It is understood that such a star sensor or such a position detection unit is included in the invention. Alternatively or additionally, any celestial bodies such as planets, moons, planetoids, stars or the like can be detected in addition to stars. Alternatively or additionally, use of the proposed camera for terrestrial observation or observation of space may be provided.
