Description
The invention relates to low alloy steels for high strength parts.
The delayed fracture (fatigue failure) is associated with hydrogen embrittlement by researchers, which is determined by the ability of hydrogen ions to penetrate the tensile stress regions (Gorsky effect). The subsequent formation of molecules from hydrogen occurs with an explosive volume effect.
The following steels are known which are used for the production of high-strength parts: 16MnCr5, 20MnB4, 21CrMoV57.
Disadvantages of these steels: with strength of more than 1300 MPa, they are unstable to hydrogen embrittlement and can not be deterred by the risk of water cracking in water.
The object of the proposed invention is to create a steel having absolute resistance to hydrogen embrittlement, allowing quenching in water and having good deformability. Among the absolute resistance of the steel to hydrogen embrittlement is its ability to exhibit such resistance to hydrogen embrittlement that both transcrystalline (through the structural grain) and intergranular (along the grain boundaries of the microstructure) diffusion of hydrogen ions in the steel is completely suppressed. Hydrogen embrittlement can not occur under any environmental conditions, in any media and at any strengths from the traveling (and stray) current (stray / ground fault current). Mainly because of this current, the polarization of water from atmosphere occurs with the formation of hydrogen ions. The greatest intensity of hydrogen ion flux occurs during electroplating, pickling and in the vicinity of electrified railway lines.
C = 0,01–0,2
Si = 0,25–6
Mn = 0,2–2
Cr = 0,15–1
Al = 0,05–0,3
Ti = 0,015–0,1
Ca = 0,005–0,03 oder/und (Ba + Sr) = 0,008–0,08 oder/und Mg = 0,002–0,02
C = 0.01-0.2
Si = 0.25-6
Mn = 0.2-2
Cr = 0.15-1
Al = 0.05-0.3
Ti = 0.015-0.1
Ca = 0.005-0.03 or / and (Ba + Sr) = 0.008-0.08 or / and Mg = 0.002-0.02
wherein the ratio between total minimum content of carbon and of silicon to maximum total content of manganese and chromium, the absolute resistance to hydrogen embrittlement discussed above, depending on minimum tensile strength, is the following:
The resistance / resistance to hydrogen embrittlement is determined by the author mainly by the influence of the alloying elements on lattice parameter / lattice constant of the α-Fe of the (carbon-supersaturated) ferrite and the annealed martensite.
Of all the alloying elements, only two elements - silicon and beryllium (and boron if it is in α-Fe) - compress the α-Fe lattice to prevent the hydrogen ions from entering the lattice.
All other alloying elements (except cobalt, it does not change lattice parameter / lattice constant of α-Fe), if their atoms are in the α-Fe lattice, contribute to the penetration of hydrogen ions into the lattice because they expand the α-Fe lattice (thus defining the tensile stresses in it). For these elements, the entrance / passage of the hydrogen ions into / through the α-Fe lattice / grain - thus their trans-crystalline motion, i. H. transcrystalline stress corrosion cracking, - enable / facilitate.
As far as the carbon content is concerned, it can be argued that the greater the carbon content in steel, the higher its possible fatigue resistance. This can be explained in the following way: exists for every unalloyed steel such tempering temperature at which the tempered martensite is so depleted of carbon that it reaches the composition of the ferrite. At this tempering temperature, the α-Fe lattice is not subjected to any distortions / tensile stresses, because positively-released intercalating atoms have completely precipitated from the carbon into the cementite. For the purpose of not allowing hydrogen embrittlement, this temperature should be assumed to be the minimum tempering temperature. Thus, the fatigue strength can only be increased by increasing the contents of carbon and silicon (and beryllium) (besides solidifying the steel thanks to microalloying and deformation).
Lower limit of carbon content is determined by achieving the minimum tensile strength required and, to a lesser extent, the necessary through-hardenability.
Upper limit of carbon content is limited with required deformability, weldability and any other properties.
The upper limit of the content of silicon is determined mainly with required deformability.
Lower limit of total manganese and chromium content is determined with required through-hardenability and (at upper carbon content) suppression of graphitization.
The upper limit of the total content of manganese and chromium is determined by ensuring resistance to hydrogen embrittlement because both elements, as with other carbide images, significantly reduce them if they are not in the carbide phase but in the α-Fe lattice as exchange atoms.
The second alloying element that increases resistance to hydrogen embrittlement is aluminum.
The lower limit of the aluminum content is 0.05%, because from this "supercritical" content no intercrystalline (along the grain boundaries) diffusion of the hydrogen ions takes place.
As is known, silicon embrittles the steels due to the traumatic action of its needle-shaped oxides located at / on the grain boundaries. The elimination of these oxides is achieved with the addition of the increased aluminum content. Increasing the Al content to a certain value (it is in the 0.17-0.35% range) increases the plasticity. This effect is explained by the fact that in its increased presence no "Cottrell clouds" (consisting of nitrogen atoms, iron nitrides and iron carbonitrides) form on / at the grain boundaries / dislocation lines, thanks to the transition from nitrogen to aluminum nitride.
The upper aluminum content is limited to 0.3%, because the higher the content, the lower the castability and resistance to hydrogen embrittlement.
Other reasons for the presence of aluminum in the steel: it increases the range of martensitic transformation and reduces the ferrite grain, which contributes to hardening in harsh media; This can reduce the content of alloying elements (Mn, Cr and others) and significantly improve the ecological situation during operation.
In addition, titanium disintegrates the sulfides and ensures the formation of finely dispersed ferrite grains, which is of great importance for resistance to hydrogen embrittlement, for ductility, and for curing in harsh media.
According to literature, boron is an element that substantially increases the resistance to hydrogen embrittlement. As it very effectively enhances through-cure, its presence is very desirable for increasing resistance to hydrogen embrittlement. So you can the Contents of manganese and chrome (which reduce the resistance to hydrogen embrittlement) reduce.
Zwecks der Vergrößerung von Durchhärtbarkeit beinhaltet der Stahl zusätzlich Bor bis 0,01%.For the purpose of increasing through hardenability, the steel additionally contains boron up to 0.01%.
Ca = 0,004–0,025 oder/und (Ba + Sr) = 0,008–0,08 oder/und Mg = 0,002–0,02.For the purposes of desulfurization and dephosphorization, as well as the combination of sulfur and phosphorus into stable sulfides and phosphides, the steel contains calcium and / or elements of its group from the periodic table: barium and / or strontium and / or magnesium:
Ca = 0.004-0.025 or / and (Ba + Sr) = 0.008-0.08 or / and Mg = 0.002-0.02.
- - Oxide CaO interacts with the oxide Al 2 O 3 , as a result, the less refractory inclusions form. In the ratio Ca / Al <0.1 outweigh inclusions CaO x 6 · Al 2 O 3 that are deposited at Stahlgießtemperaturen in the solid state to the Gießhornwänden; at Ca / Al ratio> 0.1, liquid inclusions CaO × 2 · Al 2 O 3 predominate, and the steel flows well,
- - Calcium combines non-ferrous metals into intermetallic compounds: CaPb3, Ca2Pb, Ca11Sb10, Ca5Bi3, Ca2Sn, etc., whose melting points are much higher than the melting temperature points of non-ferrous metals.
- - Oxide CaO and sulfide CaS, in comparison to oxides and sulfides of aluminum and manganese, have roundish and very disperse form; they do not deform during metalworking; they stretch into chain-like acute-angled ones. Groups, which is characteristic of Al 2 O 3 inclusions, not
- - in order to reduce the levels of sulfur, oxygen, phosphorus and nitrogen,
- Deep deoxidation and deep desulfurization prevent the alloying elements from forming the oxides and sulfides, thus making these alloying elements free / active for through-hardenability. Thus, calcium increases the effectiveness of the alloying elements and makes their contents smaller.
As the Ca / S ratio increases, the total length of the sulfide ports decreases rapidly, and even at Ca / S = 2, no elongated sulfides occur; the notch toughness reaches a maximum value. Therefore, one should take the lower limit of the minimum expected calcium content as a double value (in atomic percent) of the maximum expected sulfur content. The action of mentioned alkaline earth metals is similar to the action of calcium, although their action sometimes has several advantages.
The upper limit of the total content of the alkaline earth metals and the optimum ratio between calcium and other alkaline earth metals depend mainly on secondary metallurgical equipment, carbon contents, alloying and impurity elements.
Increasing the influence of carbon content to silicon content 4 times: (Si + 4 × C) on the resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and other ratios cited in the first part of the claims are based on the results of experimental works by the author.
For the purpose of increasing fatigue strength, cold resistance and notched toughness, the steel may include zirconium (Zr) or / and rare earth elements (SEE). The improvement in properties is achieved because of complete connection of the nitrogen to the nitrides. Due to higher melting temperatures of the formation of these nitrides, disperse primary grains occur, which becomes noticeable from the content of Zr or / and SEE of 0.01%, and when content exceeds 0.15%, reduction of notch toughness due to growth of zirconium carbides or the number of inclusions of SEE. The improvement in properties due to the use of Zr or / and SEE is even more pronounced with the addition of nitrogen: owing to the abundant abundance of the nitrides of Zr or / and of SEE, ultradispersed microstructures occur.
The optimum content of nitrogen at which maximum notch toughness is in the range: 0.01-0.05%.
Zwecks der Erhöhung von Festigkeit kann der Stahl Phosphor beinhalten: P = 0,04–0,15.For the purpose of increasing strength, the steel may include phosphorus: P = 0.04-0.15.
Ein Beispiel. Ein Stahl wurde im Laborofen erschmolzt, %:
C = 0,18 Mn = 0,9 Cr = 0,2 Si = 2 Al = 0,07 Ti = 0,02 B = 0,004 Ca = 0,01An example. A steel was melted in a laboratory furnace,%:
C = 0.18 Mn = 0.9 Cr = 0.2 Si = 2 Al = 0.07 Ti = 0.02 B = 0.004 Ca = 0.01
Then the steel was rolled at the laboratory mill to D = 25 mm. The rods were annealed and drawn to D = 23.3 mm, then the screws M24 (S = 41) were cold-dipped from them and annealed to minimum tensile strength 1200 MPa with quenching in aqueous solution. The screws were tightened with biasing force of 25.5 tons and cathodic polarization at current density of 10 mA / cm 2 in 0.05 H solution of sulfuric acid with the addition of 20 mg / l CH 4 N 2 S (corrosion inhibitor and promoter hydrogen abstraction) suspended in the course of 5 hours. All screws have passed examination with contemptible low loss of pretensioning force.
