Description
The present invention relates to an aqueous oral and dental care and cleaning composition containing at least one specific olefin sulfonate, disodium phosphate, trisodium phosphate and at least one fluorochemical compound. The aforementioned agent has an improved effect against acid-induced enamel degradation.
Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of an aqueous oral and dental care and cleaning agent according to the invention for reducing acid-induced tooth enamel degradation.
Finally, the present invention relates to a method for cleaning teeth, in which an inventive oral and Zahnpflege- and -reinigungsmittel applied to the brush head of a toothbrush and brushed with the toothbrush teeth.
Enamel consists mainly of calcium hydroxyapatite of the formula Ca 10 (PO 4 ) 6 (OH) 2 , which may be partially substituted with anions such as carbonates or fluorides and cations such as zinc or magnesium. Furthermore, enamel may also contain non-apatitic mineral phases such as octacalcium phosphate and calcium carbonate.
The loss of tooth enamel can be caused by caries. Caries are local cavities caused by the action of bacterial acids on the enamel. The formation of bacterial acids is carried out by microorganisms, which are contained in the surrounding biofilm (plaque) and convert carbohydrates from food to acids. Due to the action of the bacterial acids, calcium phosphates are released from the enamel and demineralized continuously. This demineralization eventually leads to the formation of local cavities of the enamel and the tooth in the form of caries.
On the other hand, the loss of enamel can be caused by non-bacterial acids, which lead to a surface erosion (also called erosion) of the enamel. The action of acids on enamel leads to a demineralization, which results in a softening of the tooth surface as well as in a decrease of the mineral density and tooth hardness. Under normal physiological conditions, the demineralized enamel regenerates through the saliva containing remineralizing calcium and phosphate compounds. Furthermore, salivation results in washout of the acid and an increase in pH at which minerals can deposit in the enamel. The increased consumption of acidic drinks such as fruit juices, energy drinks and cola-containing drinks, however, prevents sufficient remineralization of the enamel by the saliva, so that profound damage to the tooth, such as tooth loss, sensitivity and a dull appearance of the teeth can occur.
In the prior art fluoride-containing compounds are used to prevent erosion of the enamel and the formation of decay. However, the use of fluoride can not completely prevent the loss of enamel and caries.
There is therefore a need for oral and dental care and cleaning compositions which, compared to fluoride, lead to a reduced loss of tooth enamel as well as to a reduced formation of caries.
It is an object of the present invention to provide oral and dental care and cleaning compositions which avoid or at least mitigate the disadvantages of the prior art and which have improved protection against tooth enamel erosion and caries formation. Furthermore, these funds should be inexpensive to produce and have a high storage stability.
It has now surprisingly been found that the use of at least one specific olefinsulfonate in combination with disodium phosphate and trisodium phosphate in fluorochemical oral and dental care and cleaning agents leads to an improved caries activity and to improved protection against the acid-induced degradation of tooth enamel. Furthermore, the use of olefinsulfonates and special phosphates does not result in a negative influence on the storage stability of the agents according to the invention.

The use of an olefinsulfonate of the formula (Ia), disodium phosphate and trisodium phosphate in specific weight ratios and at least one fluorine compound leads to a particularly high protection against acid-induced tooth enamel degradation, in particular against the formation of caries and erosions, compared to compositions containing other anionic surfactants as component a) or no anionic surfactants as component a).
In the context of the present invention, it is advantageous if the agents according to the invention additionally comprise at least one amphoteric surfactant. The term "surfactants" according to the invention amphiphilic (bifunctional) compounds, which consist of at least one hydrophobic and at least one hydrophilic part of the molecule understood. The hydrophobic moiety is preferably a hydrocarbon chain of 8 to 28 carbon atoms, which may be saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched. Particularly preferably, this C 8 -C 28 -alkyl chain is linear. Furthermore, the term "amphoteric surfactants" is understood to mean both ampholytic surfactants and zwitterionic surfactants. Ampholytic surfactants are those surface-active compounds which have both acidic (for example -COOH or -SO 3 H groups) and basic hydrophilic groups (for example amino groups) and thus behave acidic or basic depending on the condition. Zwitterionic surfactants are surfactants which carry both a negative and a positive charge in the same molecule.
Preferred agents according to the invention are therefore characterized in that the agent additionally contains at least one amphoteric surfactant of the formula (II) wherein
R 1 is a C 8 -C 20 -alkyl group, in particular a C 8 -C 12 -alkyl group, and
x represents integers from 1 to 5, in particular the integer 3.
In this context, it is advantageous according to the invention if the amphoteric surfactant of the formula (II) in a total amount of 0.01 to 5.0 wt .-%, preferably from 0.05 to 3.0 wt .-%, preferably from 0 , 1 to 2.0 wt .-%, in particular from 0.2 to 1.5 wt .-%, each based on the total weight of the oral and dental care and cleaning agent is included.

The use of the aforementioned agents has proven to be particularly advantageous in terms of reduced acid degradation of the enamel, in particular the reduction of caries and erosion. Such agents have a higher protection against caries and acid-induced tooth enamel degradation (erosion) than agents which contain no component a).
In addition to the ingredients mentioned above, the compositions according to the invention may contain further auxiliaries.
The compositions of the invention may additionally contain at least one humectant to protect the agents from dehydration and to set the desired consistency. Furthermore, the use of moisturizers can improve the cold stability of the compositions. As humectants toxicologically acceptable polyols can be used, for example sorbitol, xylitol, glycerol, mannitol, 1,2-propylene glycol or mixtures of these polyols. Also, polyethylene glycols having molecular weights of 400 to 2000 g / mol may be contained proportionately as humectants. Preferably, the agent according to the invention additionally contains at least one humectant selected from the group of sorbitol, glycerol, 1,2-propylene glycol and mixtures thereof, in particular sorbitol and / or glycerol. The humectants are advantageously used in certain amounts to effectively prevent dehydration and adjust the desired consistency. In this context, it is therefore advantageous if the humectant in a total amount of 10 to 70 wt .-%, preferably from 20 to 60 wt .-%, in particular 30 to 55 wt .-%, each based on the total weight of the mouth and dentifrice and cleanser. On the one hand, the quantities mentioned above ensure a sufficiently flowable consistency, on the other hand there is effective protection against dehydration and cold instability.
To set the desired consistency, it may be advantageous to additionally add at least one thickener to the compositions according to the invention. This ensures that the product can be easily removed from the packaging and used. It is therefore preferred according to the invention if the agent additionally comprises at least one thickener selected from the group of alginates, carrageenans, tragacanth, sodium carboxymethylcelluloses, hydroxyethylcelluloses, methylhydroxypropylcelluloses, guar, acacia, agar, xanthan gum, succinoglycan gum, locust bean gum, pectins , water-soluble carboxyvinyl polymers, polyvinyl alcohols, polyvinylpyrrolidones, polyethylene glycols and mixtures thereof, in particular xanthan gum.
In this connection it is particularly preferred if xanthan gum is contained as thickening agent. The use of xanthan gum as a thickening agent has been found to be particularly advantageous in reducing acid-induced enamel degeneration, particularly in reducing caries and erosion.
The at least one thickener is preferably used in a certain total amount. It is therefore advantageous according to the invention if the at least one thickener in a total amount of 0.1 to 5.0 wt .-%, preferably from 0.15 to 4.0 wt .-%, preferably from 0.2 to 2.0 Wt .-%, in particular from 0.3 to 1.0 wt .-%, each based on the total weight of the oral and dental care and cleaning agent is included.
The compositions of the invention may additionally contain at least one polishing agent. As a polishing agent are in principle all known for oral and Zahnpflege- and -reinigungsmittel friction body, in particular those which do not contain calcium ions. Preferably suitable polishing agent components are therefore silicic acids, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide, sodium aluminum silicates, organic polymers and mixtures of such friction bodies.
The total amount of polishing agent is preferably from 5 to 50% by weight, based on the total weight of the oral and dental care and cleaning agent. Agents preferred according to the invention contain polishing agents within narrower ranges. Here are preferred oral and Zahnpflege- and -reinigungsmittel according to the invention characterized in that they 1 to 25 wt .-%, preferably 2.5 to 20 wt .-%, preferably 5 to 18 wt .-%, in particular 7.5 to 16 wt .-% polish, based on the total weight of the oral and dental care and cleaning agent included.
Particularly preferred are oral and dental care and cleaning compositions containing as polishes silicic acids. Suitable silicas are, for example, gel silicas, hydrogel silicas and precipitated silicas.
Gel silicas are prepared by reacting sodium silicate solutions with strong, aqueous mineral acids to form a hydrosol, aging to the hydrogel, washing and drying. If the drying takes place under mild conditions to water contents of 15 to 35 wt .-%, the so-called hydrogel silicas are obtained. Drying to water contents below 15% by weight results in an irreversible shrinkage of the previously loose structure of the hydrogel to the dense structure of the so-called xerogel.
A second, preferably suitable group of silica polishing agents are the precipitated silicas. These are obtained by precipitation of silica from dilute alkali silicate solutions by addition of strong acids under conditions in which aggregation to the sol and gel can not occur. Preferably suitable are precipitated silicas having a BET surface area of 15 to 110 m 2 / g, a particle size of 0.5 to 20 microns, wherein at least 80 wt .-% of the primary particles should be less than 5 microns, and a viscosity in 30% Glycerol-water (1: 1) dispersion of 30 to 60 Pa.s (20 ° C) in a total amount of 10 to 20 wt .-%, based on the total weight of the oral and dental care and cleaning agent. Particularly suitable precipitated silicas of this type have rounded corners and edges and are commercially available under the trade name ® Sident 12 DS (DEGUSSA).
Other precipitated silicas of this type are ident ® 8 (DEGUSSA) and Sorbosil® ® AC 39 (Crosfield Chemicals). These silicas are characterized by a lower thickening effect and a slightly higher average particle size of 8 to 14 microns at a specific surface area of 40 to 75 -m 2 / g (according to BET) and are particularly suitable for liquid oral and Zahnpflege- and detergent, which have a viscosity (25 ° C, shear rate D = 10 s -1 ) of 10 to 100 Pa · s.
On the other hand, oral and dental care and cleaning compositions which have a significantly higher viscosity of more than 100 Pa.s (25 ° C., D = 10 s -1 ) require a sufficiently high proportion of silicas having a particle size of less than 5 .mu.m, preferably at least 3 wt .-%, based on the total weight of the oral and dental care and cleaning agent, at least one precipitated silica having a particle size of 1 to 3 microns. Such oral and dental care and cleaning agents are therefore preferably added in addition to the aforementioned precipitated silicas so-called thickening silicas having a BET surface area of 150 to 250 m 2 / g. Such precipitated silicas are commercially available, for example under the tradenames Sipernat 22 LS or Sipernat ® 320 DS by Degussa.
As a further polish component may also alumina in the form of weakly calcined alumina in a total amount of 1 to 5 wt .-%, based on the total weight of the oral and dental care and cleaning agent, be included. Such a suitable alumina is available, for example, under the trade name "Polianton earth P10 fine" (Giulini Chemie).
As a polishing agent are further all known for oral and dental care and cleaning agent friction body, especially sodium aluminum silicates such. As zeolite A, organic polymers such as polymethacrylate or mixtures of these and the aforementioned friction body.
In summary, oral and dental care and cleaning compositions according to the invention are preferred, which additionally cleaning body, preferably silicic acids, aluminum hydroxide, alumina, sodium aluminum silicates, especially zeolite A, organic polymers, especially polymethacrylates or mixtures of these friction, preferably in a total amount of 1 to 30 wt. %, preferably from 2.5 to 25 wt.% And in particular from 5 to 22 wt.%, Based on the total weight of the oral and dental care and cleaning agent.
Particularly preferred oral and dental care and cleaning compositions according to the invention contain exclusively polishing agents from the group of silicic acids, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide or mixtures of these friction bodies.
Furthermore, the oral and dental care and cleaning agents according to the invention, in particular toothpastes, may additionally contain substances which are active against plaque and / or tartar.
Plaque is a rough, sticky coating on the teeth, which consists of saliva, bacteria and food remnants. When mineral salts (e.g., calcium, phosphate) are released from the saliva in the plaque, hard, white or yellowish deposits on the tooth, called tartar, form. In the porous tartar again easily plaque can settle, which attacks the gums.
For example, antimicrobials are suitable for controlling plaque. These also have an effect as a preservative.

1. Bestimmung des säurebedingten Zahnschmelzabbaus 1. Determination of acid-induced tooth enamel degradation
a) INCI-Bezeichnung: COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, 30 Gew.-%ige Lösung in Wasser (Goldschmidt)
b) INCI-Bezeichnung: SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE, BASF
c) INCI-Bezeichnung: CELLULOSE GUM, CP Kelco To determine the acid-induced degradation of enamel, the following aqueous oral and dental care and cleaning agents were prepared in the form of toothpastes (all data in% by weight):
a) INCI name: COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, 30% strength by weight solution in water (Goldschmidt)
b) INCI name: SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE, BASF
c) INCI name: CELLULOSE GUM, CP Kelco
Acid-induced enamel degeneration is determined by the loss of tooth hardness. The loss of tooth hardness determined for the non-inventive composition V1 is set to 100% and serves to normalize the loss of tooth hardness determined for the compositions V2 to E2. The comparative composition V2 not according to the invention contains, instead of the anionic surfactant in the form of olefinsulfonate, an anionic surfactant in the form of sodium lauryl sulfate, whereas the non-inventive composition V3 contains only an amphoteric surfactant. The non-inventive composition V4 contains olefinsulfonate, but no phosphates and fluoride. The inventive compositions E1 and E2 contain a combination of olefinsulfonate, disodium phosphate, trisodium phosphate and sodium fluoride, but differ by the use of various thickening agents.
3 × 5 mm tooth enamel pieces are extracted from sterilized bovine teeth, wax-fixed on substrates, and the enamel surface is leveled with abrasive paper (up to P4000). Then, the tooth hardness of the tooth preparations is determined using the Knoop hardness test method (
The tooth preparations prepared above are each left for 5 minutes in the composition V1 and in slurries of the compositions V2 to E2 (prepared by dilution of 1 part of the respective composition V2 to E2 with 1 part of water). After 5 minutes storage, the compositions are rinsed off with water and the tooth preparations for 16 hours in artificial saliva (solution of 0.27 g CaCl 2 · 2 H 2 O, 0.584 g NaCl, 1.267 g KCl, 0.4128 g Na 2 HPO 4 , 0327 g KH 2 PO 4 and 0.500 g hydroxyapatite powder in 1000 mL water) containing 4.5 g of lactic acid and adjusted to a pH of 4.6, stored. Subsequently, the tooth hardness of the preparations is determined again using the above Knoop hardness measurement method.
The loss of tooth hardness due to the acid-induced loss of enamel results from the difference in tooth hardness before and after storage of the tooth preparations in the lactic acid solution.
The compositions of the invention E1 and E2 lead to a reduced loss of tooth hardness and thus the acid-induced enamel degradation, which could be achieved by the use of xanthan gum as thickening agent, a further improvement. In contrast, the use of other types of anionic surfactants in the form of lauryl sulfates (composition V2) and amphoteric surfactants instead of olefin sulfonates (composition V3) leads to increased acid-induced enamel degradation. The non-inventive composition V4, which contains only olefinsulfonate, has the highest acid-induced tooth enamel degradation.
2. Formulierungen: 2. Formulations:
The olefin sulfonate of the formula (I) used in the following examples is preferably an olefin sulfonate of the formula (Ia). In the formula (II) of the amphoteric surfactant, it is preferred that the radical R 1 is a C 8 -C 12 alkyl group and x is the integer 3. The fluorine compound used is preferably sodium fluoride.
