Description
The present invention relates to a method for securing a high-voltage (HV) vehicle electrical system of a motor vehicle with a first and a second energy source.
Motor vehicles with electric drive (electric vehicles) have a HV electrical system. This is characterized by an operating voltage of more than 60 V, preferably between 200 V and 400 V, from. The term "electric vehicle" means all motor vehicles that can be driven at least partially by means of an electric motor. There are electric vehicles without combustion engine and electric vehicles with internal combustion known. The internal combustion engine of an electric vehicle can serve to drive and / or charge an energy store by means of a generator. Electric vehicles with an at least partially driving the internal combustion engine are known as hybrid electric vehicles. An HV electrical system of an electric vehicle has an electric motor and an energy store, in particular a HV battery, which provides energy for operating the electric motor.
The current-carrying lines of a high-voltage vehicle electrical system can be suitable for different currents. In particular, cables may have a different current carrying capacity due to different cable cross-sections. It should be noted that the term cable cross section usually designates the size of the cross-sectional area of a cable. For example, a cable of a HV electrical system in the path between HV battery and electric motor, where, for example, currents in the range of 200 A may occur, have a cross section in the range of 35 (mm) 2 or more. Other cables in the HV electrical system, for example, the connection of components with lower power consumption (for example, 40 A) are used, may have a smaller cross-section (for example in the range of 6 (mm) 2 ). The As described above, two-fold protection of the HV on-board network is generally geared to the largest current carrying capacity of the HV on-board network, for example at the cross-section of the cable between HV battery and electric motor. Cables with a smaller cross section therefore receive additional safeguards. These additional fuses may be located locally on the line to be secured conventional fuses that interrupt the electrical connection upon reaching a predetermined current. In addition to this protection of the maximum current, it may be necessary, as explained above, to detect a voltage drop as well. However, for this purpose, the previously explained voltage monitoring of the terminal voltage of the HV battery can be used, so that the voltage does not need to be monitored locally.
By means of said measures, an HV electrical system with an energy source, in particular a HV battery, can be effectively protected against overcurrents caused by short circuits.
- – eine weitere HV-Batterie;
- – eine Brennstoffzelle;
- – ein elektrischer Generator zur Umwandlung mechanischer Energie in elektrische Energie;
- – eine Ladeschnittstelle zur unmittelbaren oder mittelbaren (mittels eines Ladegeräts) Verbindung einer fahrzeugexternen Energiequelle mit dem HV-Bordnetz;
- - another HV battery;
- A fuel cell;
- An electrical generator for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy;
- - A charging interface for direct or indirect (by means of a charger) connection of a vehicle external energy source with the HV-electrical system;
- - A voltage converter (DC / DC converter), which connects an NV-electrical system of the motor vehicle with the HV electrical system.
An electric generator may be the electric motor driving the electric vehicle itself. When the vehicle in motion is not driven, the electric motor as a generator can convert the kinetic energy of the vehicle into electrical energy which is fed back into the HV battery via the HV on-board network. In this way can be braked by means of the electric motor. This process is also referred to as brake force recovery or recuperation. An electric generator may also be another electric motor. This further electric motor can convert kinetic energy generated by an internal combustion engine into electrical energy. Since this extends the range of the electric vehicle is spoken by a range extender (English "range extender").
The above-described protection of the HV on-board network by means of current and voltage monitoring is based on the case of an energy source. If the HV electrical system has at least one additional energy source, this must also be taken into account when securing the HV electrical system.
Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a simple and reliable method for securing a high-voltage electrical system of a motor vehicle with a first and a second energy source. The object is also to provide a computer program product for carrying out the method. Furthermore, the object is to provide a motor vehicle with a secured in a simple and reliable manner against short circuits high-voltage electrical system with a first and a second energy source.
The object is achieved in a method having the features of
The present invention can be used for any of the other energy sources enumerated above. However, the invention has particularly great utility in other energy sources with a high energy content, since these can cause high short-circuit currents lasting for a long time. The invention is therefore particularly useful and suitable for securing HV electrical systems which have as a second energy source a second HV battery or a fuel cell.
With the method according to the invention, the securing of a high-voltage electrical system of a motor vehicle with a first and a second energy source succeeds, the high-voltage electrical system a first interruption element for interrupting a first electrical connection between the first power source and the high-voltage electrical system and a second interruption element for interruption a second electrical connection between the second power source and the high-voltage electrical system. The first interruption element is set up to interrupt the first electrical connection when a terminal voltage of the first energy source falls below a threshold value of the terminal voltage and / or when a current output from the first power source exceeds a first threshold of the current. In other words, in the case of an overcurrent and / or an undervoltage, the first interruption element can thus disconnect the first energy source from the HV on-board network. The second interruption element is arranged to interrupt the second electrical connection when a current output from the second energy source exceeds a second threshold value of the current. In other words, in the event of an overcurrent, the second interruption element can separate the second energy source from the HV on-board network.
Rsc,max = 100 mOhm. In accordance with the method according to the invention, in a first step, a maximum value of an electrical short-circuit resistance (designated by the formula symbol R sc, max ) of the high-voltage vehicle electrical system is determined. The maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance is determined in a manner known in the prior art from the properties of the components used in the HV electrical system. In this case, the maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance should at least correspond to that value of the electrical short-circuit resistance that can occur in the HV electrical system maximum. For this purpose, the known from data sheets, measurements and the like electrical properties of the components of the HV electrical system such as cables, connectors and intermediate resistors can be used. If an analysis of the HV on-board network thus provides, for example, that the short-circuit resistance formed by the current-carrying components is 10 mOhm in the HV on-board network, then the maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance is determined to be at least 10 mOhm, ie R sc, max ≥ 10 mOhm. The maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance is preferably determined in such a way that it substantially exceeds the short-circuit resistance formed by the current-carrying components, that is to say, for example, R sc, max = 100 mOhm.
In a second step, the threshold value of the terminal voltage (U th ) and of the first threshold value of the current intensity (I 1, th ) is determined such that the high-voltage on-board electrical system against overcurrents occurring due to an electrical short circuit at least for all below the maximum value of the electrical short circuit resistance lying values of the electrical short-circuit resistance is secured. This second step of determining the threshold value of the terminal voltage and the first threshold value of the current takes place on the assumption that the first power source is connected to the high-voltage electrical system, the second power source, however, is disconnected from the high-voltage electrical system.
In a third step according to the invention, the second threshold value of the current intensity (I 2, th ) is determined such that the high-voltage vehicle electrical system is protected against overcurrents occurring due to an electrical short circuit at least for all values of the electrical short-circuit resistance lying below the maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance. This third step of determining the second threshold value of the current takes place on the assumption that the first and the second energy source are connected to the high-voltage electrical system. In other words, after the mental removal of the second energy source from the high-voltage electrical system in the third step, the second energy source is now added back to the high-voltage vehicle electrical system. To repeat it should be noted that in the second step, the thresholds were chosen so that in any case such short circuits would not be secured, the short-circuit resistance would be above the maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance. In other words, the HV on-board network is protected against all short circuits whose short-circuit resistance is below the maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance. In the first method step, however, the maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance was chosen such that actually possible short circuits in the HV on-board network have a short-circuit resistance which is below the maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance. By now a second energy source can cause an additional current flow, the resistance decreases, below which the HV electrical system is protected against short circuits. This will be explained in more detail below with reference to the figures. The second threshold of the Amperage can therefore be determined in the third step so that the resistance below which the HV on-board network is protected against short circuits, at most so small that it is still at least as large as the largest in the HV on-board network actually occurring short circuit resistance. It may happen that in the third step it is determined that adding the second energy source is not possible (ie it is determined I 2, th = 0 A) or not meaningful (ie a value I 2, th is determined, although it is greater than 0 A, but smaller than the value of the current that is to be able to supply the second energy source in the proper operation of the HV electrical system). In this case, the method can be aborted and started again from the beginning, whereby the threshold values determined at the time the method was aborted (ie U th and / or I 1, th and I 2, th ) are adapted to the extent that the method is carried out again ( thus increased or decreased) that an addition of the second energy source is made possible.
The method according to the invention can advantageously be extended to a plurality of energy sources. The HV electrical system may include a further energy source and a further interruption element for interrupting a further electrical connection between the further energy source and the HV electrical system. The further interruption element is set up to interrupt the further electrical connection when a current strength originating from the further energy source exceeds a further threshold value of the current intensity. In an additional method step, the further threshold value of the current intensity is then determined such that the HV on-board network is protected against overcurrents occurring due to an electrical short circuit, at least for all values of the electrical short-circuit resistance lying below the maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance, wherein the step of determining the further threshold value of the current strength on the assumption that the first, the second and the further energy source are connected to the HV electrical system. The further energy source may be a third energy source of the HV electrical system. Due to the advantageous embodiment, the HV electrical system can also be secured for more than one other energy source by the additional process step is performed for each additional energy source.
If, for example, the HV electrical system has four energy sources in total, all required threshold values are determined one after the other. First, the step of determining the threshold voltage of the terminal voltage and the first threshold value of the current takes place under the assumption that the second energy source and all other energy sources (ie the third and fourth energy source) are separated from the HV electrical system. Thereafter, the step of determining the second threshold value of the current takes place on the assumption that the second power source is connected to the HV electrical system. The assumption includes that the first energy source is connected to the HV on-board network, but that the third and fourth energy source are separated from the HV on-board network. Thereafter, the step of determining the further, third threshold value of the current takes place under the assumption that the third energy source is connected to the HV electrical system. The assumption includes that the first and second energy source are connected to the HV on-board network, but that the fourth power source is disconnected from the HV electrical system. Lastly, the step of determining the further fourth threshold value of the current takes place on the assumption that the fourth energy source is connected to the HV electrical system. The assumption includes that all other, ie the first, second and third, energy source are connected to the HV electrical system.
The steps of determining the second and all further threshold values of the current intensity can therefore be carried out successively as described. All or some of these steps, however, can also be summarized in an alternative embodiment. This will again be explained with reference to the aforementioned example of an HV on-board network with four energy sources. First, as previously explained, the step of determining the threshold voltage of the terminal voltage and the first threshold value of the current takes place on the assumption that the second energy source and all other energy sources (ie the third and fourth energy source) are separated from the HV electrical system. Subsequently, a step of determining the second threshold value and all other threshold values of the current intensity takes place in such a way that the HV on-board network is at least for all below the maximum value of the overcurrent occurring due to an electrical short circuit electrical shorting resistance values, wherein the step of determining the second threshold and all other current thresholds is on the assumption that the second energy source and all other energy sources are connected to the HV electrical system. In this embodiment, therefore, the second energy source and all other energy sources are assumed not consecutively, but at the same time as connected to the HV electrical system.
In any case, the steps of determining the second and all further threshold values of the current intensity must be such that, as a result, the HV on-board network is protected against overcurrents of all energy sources occurring due to an electrical short circuit, at least for all values of the electrical short-circuit resistance lying below the maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance is. In other words, it must be taken into account that all energy sources together deliver a total current that must be taken into account when securing the HV electrical system. This is achieved in the above-described embodiment of the method in which the energy sources are successively assumed to be connected to the HV on-board network by continuing to assume at each step of adding an energy source all assumed in the previous steps as connected to the HV electrical system energy sources be connected to the HV electrical system connected.
In a further embodiment, it can be taken into account if the first interruption element interrupts the first electrical connection only if the terminal voltage of the first energy source falls below the threshold value of the terminal voltage for a first time duration and / or if the current intensity originating from the first energy source corresponds to the first threshold value of the current intensity for a second period of time. In this case, the method may be developed with particular advantage in that the step of determining the threshold value of the terminal voltage and of the first threshold value of the current comprises determining the first time duration and / or the second time duration. In this way, it can be taken into account that the maximum ampacity of an element, e.g. a cable, can also be linked to a period of time. Thus, for a given current (in A), there may be a period of time (in seconds) for which the element, e.g. the cable that can conduct current at most. Such a period of time can be determined by taking it from a data sheet of a component. However, it can also be determined by measurements, for example by temperature measurements, and / or by simulations. The advantage of this embodiment is therefore that when a high current only occurs for a non-critical short time, the energy source is not separated from the HV electrical system. It is therefore not necessary to unnecessary interruptions of the energy supply of the HV electrical system.
In a further embodiment, it can be taken into account if the second interruption element interrupts the second electrical connection only when the current strength issuing from the second energy source exceeds the second threshold value of the current intensity for a third time duration. The step of determining the second threshold value of current may then advantageously include determining the third time duration.
In a further embodiment, it can be taken into account if the further interruption element interrupts the further electrical connection only when the current intensity originating from the further energy source exceeds the further threshold value of the current intensity for a further period of time. The step of determining the further threshold value of the current intensity may then advantageously comprise determining the further time duration.
Particularly advantageous is a combination of the aforementioned embodiments. In this embodiment, therefore, both the first and the second interruption element (thus also the possibly existing further interruption element) are adapted to interrupt the respective electrical connection after the expiration of the respective period of time.
The first time duration may be constant or chosen as a function of the terminal voltage of the first power source. Likewise, the second period may be constant or selected as a function of the current output from the first power source. Likewise, the third time period may be constant or chosen as a function of the current output from the second energy source. Likewise, the further period of time may be constant or chosen as a function of the current strength emanating from the further energy source. The term function can be understood in each case as a mathematical mapping rule. Likewise, the term function can be understood to be a value table.
By choosing one or more of the time periods as a function, it is possible to take account of the above-mentioned fact that the maximum current-carrying capacity of an element of an HV on-board network is frequently not indicated, or not exclusively, by a value in amperes by a formulaally or graphically specified function that assigns a duration to each value of the current. Such a function, for example given in a data sheet of the element of the HV on-board network, can thus be taken for a given value of the current duration, for which the element can carry a current of this current maximum, without being heated inadmissible or otherwise impaired.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the second (and / or in the presence of the further energy source of the further) threshold value of the current is adjustable, wherein the method is carried out at an addition and / or commissioning of the second and / or further energy source to an existing HV electrical system , The method then comprises the further step of adjusting the second and / or further threshold value of the current intensity. The method can be used in an advantageous manner to secure an existing HV on-board network, if the HV on-board network, an additional energy source is added or if an existing, but not yet active, additional energy source is connected to the HV on-board network. For example, the method may be performed each time a reach extender internal combustion engine is started up.
The process of the invention can be used in many ways. One possible application is the development of on-board networks. In this case, the method can be used in particular in automated tools, e.g. Software programs, are used for on-board network development. The invention therefore also includes a computer program product, in particular a digital storage medium, comprising a set of instructions which, when executed on a computer, cause the computer to perform the steps of the claimed method. A digital storage medium may be a CD-ROM, a DVD or other write-once or rewritable medium. A digital storage medium can also be formed by a server on which the computer program product is made available for downloading by means of a data connection. The server can be an Internet server.
Another possible use of the method according to the invention is the operation of on-board networks, ie in the case that an HV power supply of a motor vehicle, an additional energy source is added or that an existing, but not yet active, additional energy source is connected to the HV electrical system , The invention therefore also encompasses a motor vehicle having the features of
The control unit can be permanently arranged in the motor vehicle and connected to the second (and / or with the other) interruption element. The control unit can be used to carry out the method according to the invention, when the second power source is connected to the HV electrical system.
The control unit can also only temporarily connectable to the motor vehicle and in particular only temporarily be connectable to the second (and / or further) interruption element. In this case, the control unit can be used when a previously non-existent second (or further) energy source is added to an HV electrical system of a motor vehicle. This could for example be the case when a motor vehicle is retrofitted with another HV battery, a range extender or a fuel cell. With particular advantage, the motor vehicle is set up to establish a data connection between the control unit and the second interruption element by means of a data bus connection of the motor vehicle. It is particularly advantageous if the motor vehicle comprises a diagnostic interface, wherein the diagnostic interface is set up to connect the control unit to the data bus of the motor vehicle. The control device may be a device used in work for HV vehicle electrical systems qualified for work on HV electrical systems. If in such a workshop the HV electrical system is extended by an energy source, the second and / or further threshold value of the current intensity can be adjusted by means of the control unit. The extended to the additional energy source HV electrical system is then secured. In an advantageous development, the threshold values of further or all interruption elements of the HV on-board network can be set by means of the control unit. When adding a second or further energy source, then advantageously the entire process can be carried out, e.g. also determining and setting the threshold values of the first interrupt element.

In the first step, the maximum value R sc, max of the electrical short-circuit resistance R sc is determined. For this purpose, a precise knowledge of the structure of the HV electrical system, so the elements and their arrangement and interconnection, necessary. From this knowledge as well as empirical values and possibly measurements and tests, the respective short-circuit resistance R sc can be determined for different conceivable short-circuit cases. The maximum value R sc, max of the electrical short-circuit resistance is then to be chosen such that it exceeds each of the thus determined short-circuit resistances R sc . In other words, the maximum value R sc, max should be determined so that it is greater than any short-circuit resistance that could actually occur in the HV electrical system. In the present example, it should be assumed that the maximum value of the electrical short-circuit resistance R sc, max = 150 mOhm.
According to Kirchhoff's laws, the battery current I Batt, 1 is calculated in the event of a short circuit and the value of the terminal voltage U Batt, 1 in the event of a short circuit too
Alternatively, the second method step according to the invention could also be carried out by first determining the threshold value U th of the terminal voltage and then calculating the first threshold I 1, th of the current intensity by means of Ohm's law.
It should be noted that the threshold value U th of the terminal voltage and the first threshold value I 1, th of the current intensity may be determined in other ways than described above. In particular, each known to those familiar with the safety of HV electrical systems expert is capable of determining these thresholds for a HV electrical system with a single energy source.
- Number of battery cells n = 96,
- • Voltage of each of the battery cells U i = 4V.
On the abscissa of the illustrated coordinate system values R i of the internal resistance of each battery cell are plotted. Values R sc of the electrical short-circuit resistance are plotted on the ordinate of the illustrated coordinate system.
In dem Koordinatensystem sind weiterhin acht Ortskurven des Batteriestroms IBatt,1 aufgetragen, wobei die acht Ortskurven den Werten IBatt,1 = 1000 A, IBatt,1 = 900 A, IBatt,1 = 800 A, IBatt,1 = 700 A, IBatt,1 = 600 A, IBatt,1 = 500 A, IBatt,1 = 400 A sowie IBatt,1 = 300 A entsprechen.
