Description
The present invention relates to a method for monitoring a delivery system for a liquid medium. The conveyor system comprises at least one feed pump for conveying the liquid medium from a tank and at least one metering valve and at least one return line into the tank. In the area of the return line a check valve is provided. The conveyor system is provided in particular for conveying and metering a reagent solution for an SCR catalytic converter into the exhaust gas line of an internal combustion engine, wherein the reagent solution is sprayed into the exhaust gas line upstream of the SCR catalytic converter.
Stand der TechnikState of the art
Methods and apparatuses for operating an internal combustion engine, in particular in motor vehicles, are known in whose exhaust gas area an SCR catalytic converter (selective catalytic reduction) is arranged, which reduces the nitrogen oxides contained in the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine in the presence of a reducing agent to nitrogen. For the course of the reaction ammonia (NH 3 ) is required, which is admixed to the exhaust gas. As reactant NH 3 or NH 3 are used split off reagents. As a rule, an aqueous urea solution ( AdBlue® ) is used for this purpose, which is injected into the exhaust gas line upstream of the SCR catalytic converter in a demand-dependent manner.
For injection of the liquid reactant hydraulic conveying and metering systems are known, which generally comprise at least one feed pump and a metering unit, in particular one or more electrically controllable metering valves. The reactant is sprayed into the exhaust line via a hydraulic supply line (pressure line). The reagent solution is located in a tank associated with the conveyor system. The feed pump usually sucks the reagent solution through a heated filter element and then compresses the liquid medium to build up a system pressure. About 75% of the amount of reactant (at maximum dosage) is returned to the tank. For this purpose, a return line is provided in the tank in many systems. If no metering of the reagent solution is requested, for example during a metering break, 100% of the pumped fluid is returned to the tank via the return line. As a rule, the system has a defined slip in order to design the pressure and flow control functions.
Equipping the system with a return line means that when the system is off, the liquid reactant from the tank could run back into the feed pump and into the hydraulic system. Therefore, a return protection is usually provided to prevent a return of the liquid medium from the tank into the delivery system via the return line. This return protection is also useful for the operating mode "suck back", in which the liquid medium is sucked out of the pressure lines, for example, for reasons of frost protection. The return protection ensures that no liquid medium can be sucked out of the tank via the return line in this operating mode. The return protection is usually realized by a check valve, which ensures that the reagent solution can only run in the direction of the tank and not back into the conveyor system. The check valve is expediently arranged in the region of a throttle in the return line. Conveniently, the check valve is hydraulically upstream or downstream of the throttle in the return direction of the medium. Usually, a sealing element is used as a check valve, which is pressed by means of a prestressed spring element in a sealing contour. The inserted spring element is usually designed relatively weak in its force, since the feed pump can usually only build up a relatively small pressure. Especially with a first filling of the system is still no liquid medium in the pump room of the pump. Therefore, the pumping capacity is initially very low, especially during the first filling. Also in the Rücksaugmodus the delivery rate is not large and it can be constructed in the suction-side area only a small negative pressure. The check valve is therefore expediently designed so that the only small delivery-side pressure in the delivery operation is sufficient to push the check valve. The tension spring of the spring element is therefore usually very weak to release the return with the smallest possible opening pressure.
Since the spring element of the check valve is usually designed weak for these reasons, it is also relatively prone to failure. If, for example, slight impurities occur in the region of the sealing contour or of the sealing element, this can already lead to a defective functioning of the non-return valve. Furthermore, a jamming in the region of the sealing point or a jamming of the sealing element can lead to the fact that the check valve can not fulfill its function.
Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention
Vorteile der Erfindung Advantages of the invention
The invention provides a method for monitoring a delivery system for a liquid Medium ready, in particular, the function of the check valve is monitored in a return line of the conveyor system. With this method can be checked whether the sealing element of the check valve, for example, jammed and is not pressed into the sealing contour. In this case, no negative pressure would be able to be built up in the return suction, or the built-up negative pressure would be insufficient, so that the liquid medium could not be sufficiently sucked out of the pressure lines. With the method, furthermore, a defective function of the non-return valve can be recognized, which is based on insufficient sealing of the non-return valve, which can arise, for example, due to contamination in the sealing area or due to tilting in the area of the sealing point. If by means of the method according to the invention a deficient function of the check valve is ascertainable, suitable measure for correcting the error can be initiated, so that overall the correct function of the conveyor system is ensured and thus, for example, a precise metering of the reagent for an SCR catalyst and an optimal exhaust aftertreatment can be guaranteed.
The inventive method is based on a delivery system for a liquid medium, comprising at least one feed pump for conveying the liquid medium from a tank and at least one metering valve. The conveyor system may thus include, for example, a delivery unit in the strict sense, which comprises a suction line, a feed pump and a pressure line, and further comprising a metering unit with at least one metering valve, wherein the metering unit is connected via a suitable line to the conveyor unit. Furthermore, in the conveyor system at least one return line is provided in a tank for the liquid medium, wherein in the region of the return line, a check valve and optionally a throttle are provided. In particular, this delivery system is a delivery system for the reaction solution of an SCR catalyst, wherein the reaction solution, in particular a urea-water solution, is injected via the metering valve into the exhaust line upstream of an SCR catalyst in a demand-dependent manner. According to the invention, the correct function and in particular the sealing of the check valve is monitored, the feed pump being operated in a return suction mode when the metering valve is closed. The anticipated self-adjusting negative pressure is considered as a good criterion for the function and the sealing of the check valve. The expected negative pressure or the expected pressure profile and the associated pressure changes is / are observed or considered on the basis of at least one operating characteristic of the conveyor system. A basic prerequisite for carrying out the method according to the invention is that the conveyor system, in particular the feed pump and the corresponding lines, are filled with liquid medium and therefore is not in the mode of first filling. If the feed pump motor of the feed pump is operated with the metering valve closed in the suck-back mode, a negative pressure should build up in the system, with the pump space of the feed pump being flooded in this state. If the vacuum builds up correctly, it can be assumed that the check valve in the return line of the system is correctly closed and seals the return line. The extent of the resulting negative pressure itself is determined in particular by the internal slip within the pump itself. The self-adjusting negative pressure may for example be in a range between about 300 to 500 mbar. Greater negative pressures are generally not advantageous since the medium may be able to pass into the vapor phase at relatively high pressures. The negative pressure is set in the pressure-side part of the system, ie in particular in the region between the feed pump and the metering valve. The resulting negative pressure can in principle be measured directly or indirectly by observing suitable operating parameters in the conveyor system.
In a particularly preferred manner, the self-adjusting negative pressure is detected by means of a pressure sensor, which is arranged downstream of the feed pump, ie in the pressure-side part of the conveyor system. Usually corresponding conveyor systems are equipped with one or more pressure sensors for other purposes. This or these pressure sensor (s) can / can be used for the purposes of the method according to the invention to consider the measurable pressure in the conveyor system as the operating characteristic. The pressure sensor should be designed so that it can also detect negative pressures (negative pressure). Preferably, the measurable pressure in the system is therefore considered as an operating parameter on the basis of signals from the pressure sensor, in order to be able to determine in the monitoring of the conveyor system according to the invention whether the expected negative pressure occurs in the re-suction mode.
Alternatively or additionally, a parameter of the feed pump operation can be used to determine whether the expected negative pressure is set. In this case, therefore, the indirectly detectable pressure is used as the operating parameter for the purposes of the method according to the invention. For example, if the feed pump is operated to keep the speed or the pumping frequency the same and the leading variable is the feed pump motor operating current, then it can be determined by means of a return suction mode adjusting relatively high delivery pump motor operating current to be concluded that on the pressure side of the feed pump, a negative pressure builds up or has built, for example, since the maintenance of the speed of the feed pump motor must be ensured by the increased feed pump motor operating current. A relatively high delivery pump motor operating current thus indicates that the negative pressure to be expected has set or is being established in the delivery-side region of the delivery system. Depending on the mode of operation of the feed pump, other feed pump operating variables can also be used for the purposes of the invention. For example, if the feed pump is operated so that the feed pump motor operating current remains the same and the speed or pump frequency adjusts accordingly, then the vacuum pump setting can be deduced if the feed pump motor speed or pump frequency is reduced while the feed pump motor operating current is the same. For example, if the conveyor system is operating with a reciprocating pump, it can be seen from the average current or current level at which the armature movement is increasing that a higher counterforce is to be overcome, so that it can be concluded that a negative pressure has built up or itself builds.
In a further development of the method according to the invention, the metering valve is opened in the further course of the monitoring method or in a second phase of the method according to the invention. The above-described operation in the Rücksaugmodus with a closed metering valve is to some extent a first phase of the process. The in the second phase adjusting, expected burglary of the negative pressure is considered as another good criterion based on at least one operating characteristic of the conveyor system. This is based on the fact that at an opening of the metering valve air can penetrate into the system and operated in the Rücksaugmodus feed pump can promote the compressed in the pressure line medium back into the tank. In this case, the negative pressure in the pressure-side part of the system (pressure line) breaks or at least decreases. The feed pump can convey the medium in the hydraulic system, with air entering the hydraulic system via the metering valve and the medium being conveyed back into the tank through the system in the set recirculation mode (re-suction mode). According to the invention, the intruding negative pressure directly at the pressure sensor and / or indirectly by, for example, the reduced feed pump motor operating current at the feed pump motor or, for example, by an increase in the speed of the feed pump motor, depending on the mode of operation of the feed pump, be considered as a good criterion for the functioning system and in particular for the functioning check valve , If one or both of the mentioned criteria are not or only to a lesser extent observed, a leak in the system can be assumed. The check valve in the tank return is in this case not sufficiently tight or not closed. This has the consequence that in the suck-back mode via the tank return medium from the tank is sucked from the feed pump, the system conveys in a circle. In this case, medium is sucked in by the feed pump via the tank return which is open in this case and, if appropriate, conveyed back into the tank via the throttle, the delivery pump and the actual intake point. This is a kind of "hydraulic short circuit" available. By applying values in the control program of the conveyor system, the pressures and / or currents that occur can be recorded, processed and assessed with regard to expected values, so that according to the invention the criterion "check valve okay" or "check valve not okay" can be analyzed.
Another particular advantage of the method according to the invention is that with the implementation of the monitoring method, the reliability can be increased. This is based on the fact that in the course of carrying out the method according to the invention, a relatively large negative pressure is created, which adjusts by the fact that the metering valve is closed or is only opened in the second phase of the process when the negative pressure is very high. This results in the chance that a not completely closed or not completely sealing non-return valve, which is slightly contaminated, for example, is closed by the negative pressure and / or back-flowing medium by the sealing element of the check valve due to the relatively large negative pressure back into the sealing contour is pressed or sucked.
In a further embodiment of the method according to the invention can also be checked whether the sucking back of medium from the pressure-side part of the conveyor system, ie an emptying of the hydraulic system, is carried out in a correct manner. In order to monitor a return suction of medium from the pressure-side part of the delivery system, the opening of the metering valve is continued in a third phase of the method according to the invention for an applicable time duration. The expected, further reducing negative pressure is considered as a good criterion for the sucking back of medium on the basis of at least one operating characteristic of the conveyor system, for example, the measurable pressure at the pressure sensor or on the basis of an operating characteristic of the feed pump. For example, is from a further diminishing Feed pump motor operating current on the feed pump or read from an increasing feed pump motor speed in a current-controlled pump operated read that the negative pressure further reduced or degrades. In this embodiment of the monitoring method, therefore, a negative pressure is initially established by the suckback mode with the metering valve closed (first phase) in the system operating correctly, which pressure can be measured, for example, via the pressure sensor. By opening the dosing valve (second phase), air can flow into the system, so that the vacuum dissipates. The pressure sensor shows in this phase so a smaller negative pressure. Continuing the opening of the metering valve in the Rücksaugmodus for an applicable period of time (third phase), the reagent from the hydraulic lines is completely sucked back. As a result, the negative pressure in the delivery system breaks down completely or at least degrades because air is sucked into the system through the opened metering valve, which after a certain time also reaches the pump chamber of the delivery pump. Due to the internal slip, the pump can suck or pump in principle no air, so that then the negative pressure collapses when the sucked air from the piping system reaches the pump room. The pressure sensor then indicates no negative pressure or possibly only a very low negative pressure, since the feed pump can not pump with the air in the pump room. These pressure graduations, which can be observed in particular by measurements on the pressure sensor, occur in the case of a correctly functioning system during the applicable time. The timing of the inventive method, in particular for the phase 2 and optionally for the phase 3 are suitably adapted to the conditions of the respective system (hose length, etc.). For example, the first phase may be performed for a period of about 2-5 seconds. The second phase can be carried out, for example, for a period of about 10-60 sec.
For example, the third phase can be completed after 5 seconds, and this phase can be ended when the actual completion of the suck back process can be deduced from the break in or reduction of the negative pressure. If the medium is not sucked back correctly within the applicative time, this is visible on the basis of a deviation from the described, expected pressure graduation. If the expected pressure changes do not occur, a lack of tightness in the system, in particular in the area of the tank return, and a resulting erroneous sucking back can be assumed. In this case, a suitable error signal can be output, so that suitable measures for troubleshooting can be taken if necessary.
In a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, brief dips in the negative pressure or short dips in the pressure curve, in particular in the second and third phases of the method, are not taken into account in the evaluation. This is based on the fact that in the system individual air pockets can be present, which can cause short pressure drops in the hydraulic system as soon as the air bubbles arrive at the feed pump. Preferably, these short pressure drops are filtered out by e.g. applicatively recognized by the software as bubbles and discarded. Only a prolonged or sustained pressure drop is evaluated so that the air column from the line system, which has entered the system during the Rücksaugbetriebes via the metering valve, has reached the feed pump.
Preferably, the applicable time duration for the monitoring of the re-suction is adapted to parameters of the respective conveyor system. In particular, in this case, the return flow of the feed pump, for example, in liters per hour, and in the hydraulic system located amount of the liquid medium, which is to be sucked back, are taken into account. The content of the conveyor system may vary from vehicle to vehicle. The content depends, inter alia, on the inner diameter and the length of the hydraulic pressure line used.
In principle, the negative pressure or generally the pressure curve in the hydraulic system which is considered in the course of the method according to the invention can be tested in the form of fixed values, in particular taking into account suitable tolerance fields or tolerance bands. However, it is also or alternatively suitable for the test to consider pressure changes, since this can be implemented in a particularly advantageous manner when taken into account in a corresponding software program.
